I stood anxious as I waited for the sheet to drop.

They currently had lucus holding onto my lead rope in the barn with a giant red sheet held over the door.

Any moment now the sheet would drop and there would be Zaiden.

Any moment.

Ohhh I wonder what he looks like!

'Calm down! What's with you?'

I don't know but I feel weird. Like something life changing is about to happen.

'Wow. That's so deep Adele is rolling in it.'

Ha ha I'm laughing.

'Sarcasm?'

Very much so.

'Just shut up. He'll be here soon.'

Its not like he can hear me.

'Just... just be quiet Kat.'

I hear some grumbling as she blocks me off.

'Thanks Kat.'

I hear some shuffling and a curtain of fabric falls to the ground.

Outside the door stands a boy with dark brown hair. Muscles stand out with his tight shirt and a girl hanging off of him.

My heart sinks at the sight of her.

Oh if only that girl wasn't there! We won't buck him off! He can ri-

'Eww! Kat! I'm a horse shifter and he's a werewolf! And to make it worse that'd be like rejecting my mate before we've even met!'

Hmm... Hey, what's a good way to kill and dispose of a b*tch?

'What?!'

You know, a female dog...

'No, I'm talking about the kill and dispose bit!'

Oh... that... never mind, just forget I asked that!

'Ka-'

She'd cut the link.

The boy stared at me and if I was in human form I'd be roughly the colour of a tomato.

Alpha Frank stood next to the boy and the Luna was on the otherside of him.

"What do you think son?"

"W-w-where d-d-did you g-get her?"

"She's a wild. So you'll need to break her in."

"Y-y-you got me a horse?"

I neighed softly and walked forward, Lucus reluctantly letting me.

I was about a meter away when I stopped.

I sent my right fore leg in front of my whilst bending my left and lowering my body, hoping it was pulling off the effect of making me look like I was bowing.

I stood up straight and the red head that was attached to Zaiden slowly stepped forward with her arm outstretched.

"Hey beautiful." She cooed. She over turned her hand showing a sugar cube.

Maybe I was jumping to conclusions a bit.

I take the treat out of her hand and crunch on it.

She laughed.

"You've got yourself a good horse her Zaiden." She told him as she ran her hands down my legs. "She's a wild that's for sure, but she seems in good condition. Not to fat, but she's not starving."

Zaiden nodded.

"How old do you think she is Mayah?" Alpha Frank asked.

Mayah opens my mouth and I resist the urge to bite down hard on her fingers.

"Her teeth are so well kept that they look like a foals."

Well kids, today we've learnt that brushing your teeth can actually be bad for you.

The Luna laughed. "She must be magical."

Be careful what you wish for!

"What's her name Zai?" Nari asks.

"I don't know yet Na, I gotta think about it."

Frank soon herded off the others leaving only him, Zaiden and me.

"What's wrong Zai?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing always means something."

"No its fine. I'm fine. Its just I'm not sure I'm ready for another horse."

I leaned my head against him and instantly felt safe.

"Zaiden, its been 4 years. Soldier died protecting you, he wouldn't want to see you wrapping yourself in cottonwool now."

"DONT YOU DARE USE SOLDIER AGAINST ME!" His sudden out burst made me jump.

"Zaiden, all I'm saying is that you have to get back on the horse... literally."

Horse puns? Really?

Zaiden led me into a stall and the Alpha closed the door behind us.

Uncliping the lead rope from the bright blue halter Zaiden looked into my eyes.

"I know she's not a bad horse dad, I do, but I don't want to hurt her. I don't want to hurt another horse ever."

"And son, its understandable, I never wanted to ever see another horse after my mate rejected me but I had too." The Alpha sighed.

"Sometimes things need to be put behind us, so the good from now can shine through."

Alpha Frank closed the top door of the stall door as well.

"Dad?" No answer. "DAD?!" Still no answer. "ALPHA?!"

It was no use. Alpha Frank had locked both me and Zaiden in the same stall.

A light shone above our head, although dim it still lit the 3 meter by 3 meter room up.

"This is the way to go, huh girl?" I nickered in response.

He ran his hand over my neck before taking all the ties out of my mane and placing them in his pocket. He took out the tie from my tail and unwove that too.

"Just saying, but you look heaps better with your mane out."

'English Kat!'

He said we looked good!

'No, he said we looked better with our hair loose.'

NEVER. EVER. WEARING. IT. UP. AGAIN.

'You're so weird sometimes.'

Zaid went and sat over in the corner and shivered. It was cold in here but being a horse I got a built in jumper.

I walked to the corner where he sat and placed my head on his lap.

His eyes shot open and landed on me. He laughed and I lifted my head.

He quickly shifted (A/N he shifted earlier) into a black wolf. He stood about as tall as a Shetland pony.

It didn't faze me that he was now a wolf as he circled around me.

After a bit he decided to crawl up next to me. He sat atop of my legs and I rested my head on him.

It felt strange, but good. It felt like home, like safety.

We're spooning with Sexy McSexiness as his wolf!

'Really? Spooning?'

Well if we were in human form it would be spooning.

'I swear you're such a fangirl.'

And that was how we slept.
