Ragini appeared from nowhere and startled Sonakshi who was hiding in the kitchen. She fell straight on her bum. Ouch! That hurts more.

"Sonakshi! What is this? Get up! " he scolded her.

She got smiling awkwardly caressing her ass.

"Hello, Sonakshi " raging greeted her.

"Hello aunty " she smiled awkwardly.

"Are you hiding from me? "

" Uh- No. Nope, aunty. Why will I hide from you? " she stuttered.

"No, I just thought you don't want to see me. After all, I am your would-be a mother in law "

" Ragini why are you thinking like this? Sonakshi is still immature. I scold her a lot but this girl never listens to me. But I promise she is all innocent and reserved"

"Oh, all innocent and reserved. I know Sonakshi," she smirked at Sonakshi who wanted the floor to eat her up.

Two to kill.

Dev and say.

"Aunty I will grab a bottle of water. I get thirsty too much " she was about to run when ragini opposed her to go back.

" Sonakshi, I know how much thirsty you get love. I have plenty of water in my car and Dev told me how much thirsty you get so I am prepared. Should we proceed towards our destination "

She smirked while Sonakshi died due to embarrassment.

Dev was hell busy with his meetings. he had five meetings in a go. He was trying to finish his work early so that he can go to his fiance and apologise to her after all she was angry at him. He was still in her block list.

Leela entered his cabin in a hurry snapping him out of his dream.

"What happened Leela? Why are you in a hurry? "

"Sir, Yash sir is calling u urgently and Mr.goenka is also present. They want to meet you as soon as possible "

" Mr.goenka,  strange is everything fine "

"I don't know sir. But I think there is an emergency. "

"Ok, I will meet them. I want you to look at the Singapore clients and schedule my meeting with them. "

"Ok, sir. "

Dev knocked at his dad's cabin and waited for the call. He entered as soon as a come in came as a reply.

Entering into the atmosphere he got a rough view of the situation. Something was definitely wrong. The air was tense and suffocating.

"Dev "

Prakash smiled at his future son in law.
He knew dev was perfect for Sonakshi. He knew Sonakshi despised him so much because of his past deeds. But a father can never choose wrong for his daughter. She will not understand him now but time will teach her everything. The look and dark vibes which he gets from his beloved daughter would stab his heart every time. He wanted to end her sorrows. She looked at him as he was a devil in her life. So he made sure that this devil will bring a reward into his daughter's life.

"Hello, uncle " Dev greeted him. Prakash patted his back and told him to have a seat. Dev looked at his father who passed him a small smile.

"Prakash is here to see your dev. " Samar said.

Dev looked at Prakash and then at his father. Something was coming at his way.

"Yes uncle "

"I need a favour dev "

He sounded sad and broken.

" Uncle, you call me son. A father never asks for a favour. He orders. "

Prakash smiled fondly at him.

" I knew from the very first time that you will be perfect for Sonakshi. She is a little stubborn and spoilt I admit that. Her grandmother spoilt her so much. I love my daughter's dev. And today I just want you to accept her as soon as possible. "

" Uncle, I have already accepted Sonakshi "

"Dev, Prakash wants you and Sonakshi to get married as soon as possible. He cannot wait. "

Dev smiled and shook his head in dismay.

"When did I say that I won't marry her. I want to marry her. But now we both are knowing each other and - "

" Dev I want to both to get married next week. Try to understand it's urgent. "

"Uncle, next week. "

He was shocked. Why was Sonakshi's dad so desperate in marrying her? What was he so broken?

" Dev, Sonakshi will hate me. I know but this is important. I want you to take her as your wide before the storm knocks at our doorstep. The storm won't take much time before entering my daughter's life. Somehow we got her back I don't want her to go back. This time everything will fall back and I am not so strong to mend things. Things are falling apart. My one mistake is resulting in destruction in my other daughter's life. And I know this will affect Sonakshi too. I don't want her to suffer. Please I beg you. A father is begging you dev. Take her away from everything. "

He folded his hands and a tear escaped from his eyes. He failed as a father. His one daughter was facing the harsh truth of her life and he never wanted his other daughter to know it. Dev looked at the broken man's posture. A father was begging in front of him. He can't say no.

" Uncle, please. Don't. You are hurting me. Don't do this uncle. I told you. You just have to order me. "

Prakash smiled through his tears and nodded.

"I knew it. You will never fail me "

" I never said yes uncle. "

"Dev " Samar scowled at him.

" I want to know the whole problem uncle. You want me to save Sonakshi. I will do it. But I won't allow you to face this problem alone. I want you to tell me everything. I want to help you with everything I have. "

Prakash looked at Dev with admiration and hope in his eyes.

"Sonakshi is so lucky to have you in her life. "

"I want to make you lucky uncle. Please tell me what is wrong. "

" promise me you will marry Sonakshi next week. "

"I promise uncle. And I will make her marry me. Don't worry now please tell me what is bothering you "

He knelt in front of him and took his hands in his. Samar looked at his son with pride. While Prakash told him the whole misery of his life.

Sonakshi unblocked dev and called him as her mother in law wanted her to talk to a dev about her clothes.

She knew clothes were an excuse. Dev is a momma's boy would have asked his mommy to make her unblock him.

"Hello "
His hoarse and masculine voice ignited a fire inside her stomach. A smile appeared on her lips as his voice rang in her ears.

"Mommy's boy "  she teased him.

"Sonakshi " He replied. He sounded tired and tensed.

"Dev " she tested him.

"Hmm "

" are you ok? "

"Yes yes. I am absolutely fine. Just work and work. "  he replied lazily.

"Then why are working so much. Take a break. "

" Sometimes you can't back off. You have to do certain things.  "

"huh! What are you talking like this? Giving me life lessons "

"Well, leave it to tell me. Why did you call me? And I am unlocked? Wow "

"Don't get happy I will unblock you once I am done with this conversation. "

"You are threatening me "

She giggled hard sending a wave of sadness in dev 's body. She sounded happy and healthy how can he talk to her about that topic.

"I am threatening dev, Dixit. Do you have any problem "

"Sonakshi we need to talk "

He said cutting her giggles off.

"Yes yes. I am listening "

"I want to meet you. "

"No. Nope. Not happening. "

"Why? "

" because I am still angry "

"I promise I will make it up to you. But it's important. Try to understand Sonakshi. Please "

The way these words rolled out from his mouth Sonakshi sensed that he was tensed and sad.

" I was going dev. I will be there with you. Tell me where should I meet you "

"Tomorrow. Miranda cafe, Cornelia street at 10 pm in the morning. Is it fine? "

"Everything is fine with me. I will meet you. I have vacations going on so no college. I am free for the next fifteen days. I can meet you anytime. "

"Ok "

He replied curtly. Dev was always the one who stretched and eased there conversation but today he was the one to make it low and short. Something was definitely wrong. She was so happy. and she didn't know why. Dev brought happiness in her life. She never knew what was planned for her.

"Dev, Do you know I went out with your mom? Well, leave it do you know how embarrassed- "

"Sonakshi I am tired. Can we continue this tomorrow when we meet? "

He stopped in midway. She replied with an ok and a good night followed by a bye.

She stared at her phone for hours. Was someone trying to burst the bubble of her happy again?

On the other side, dev had a huge responsibility, he wanted to lift the mountain of worries from Prakash's shoulder, mend his relationship with his daughter and talk to Sonakshi about there marriage.

Tomorrow will be a hard day. I am sorry Sonakshi this lie is needed for us.

This chapter was boring to write. I made Prakash's character nicer and justified the events.
