Epilogue

A/N: Behold the shortest chapter in the entire book with just as many feels XD. And yes, I tied up the very end of this chapter with the very beginning of the book. Deal with it ;) Be sure to answer some questions on the Thank you note page after reading :)

"Mama, mama!" Lillian Cavendish cried, her mismatched eyes gleaming with unrestrained glee. "Look what I found!" She held up a small shell in her seven-year-old hands, clutching it between her chubby fingers. It was small and pink, swirled, looking like something out of a magical realm.

Sophia smiled softly prying it from her child's fingers. "It's beautiful, Lilly."

The child beamed in delight, giggling which promptly fell when her brother, Elijah came holding an identical yet slightly larger version of her own shell. "I found a larger one." He shot his sister a superior look.

Lillian narrowed her eyes at him. "I hate you."

"And I you."

"I said it first."

"Lilly..." Blake warned beside Sophia, shooting his daughter a reprimanding glance.

Lilly bowed her head. "Sorry, Father."

"You know we have a no squabbles rule. We came here to the Scotland to enjoy the beach and nature. Have a relaxing trip. Not to squabble. Lillian. Elijah. Both of you, behave yourselves."

The young boy slightly rolled his eyes heavenwards and Sophia bit, "Elijah... that is no way for a young lord like yourself to behave. What has gotten into you?"

"Nothing, Mama. I am sorry." His gray eyes peered at her with guilt, his lips pouting.

Sophia smiled softly. "Very well. Go play now. Both of you, without fighting. One more word out of the both of you.."

Lillian and Elijah gave each other a look, both narrowing their eyes at each other and then nodding. As quick as the fight started, it disappeared and the children's screams and giggles as they flew across the sand could be heard.

Sophia leaned into Blake, one arm cradling her few months old child, Victoria. "Sometimes I think we should have stopped with the pair of them. God knows how Victoria is going to be when she is older."

Blake let out a small snort. "For the record, angel, you wanted another child. I was just happy to oblige." He looked down at her. "Very happy to oblige." His lips curved into a seductive grin as he traced his finger along her cheek, then her jaw and then her neck. She shivered as her skin erupted with fire.

She swatted his hand away and faintly punched his arm. "You have never stopped being an incorrigible flirt, have you?" When his fingers resumed its journey, she shot him a warning look. His only response was to continue those stroking moments that felt like butterflies flying across her skin. She inhaled sharply.

"Only for you," he whispered sweeping down to kiss her, to only be halted by his youngest daughter's flying, tiny-knuckled fist and coos. Sophia let out a howl of laughter at the surprise in his green eyes as the child delivered a solid box to his jaw. And then laughed!

"Serves you right. Clearly, our daughter doesn't wanted to be subjected to torture of seeing her parents in love already."

Blake rubbed his jaw, playing along, grinning all the while. "Apparently so. I have a feeling little Victoria here is going to be a handful."

"I have to agree as she just decked you a rather good blow with those hands."

The exasperated glance Blake gave her had her snorting under her breath. As if she knew they were talking about her, the little child blue eyes opened and she smiled at them again, cooing. Sophia's heart melted into a puddle.

"Yes, she I, but," Sophia whispered, linking her free arm with Blake's, threading their fingers together, "I don't mind it as long as you're with me."

Blake opened his mouth to say something was interrupted from doing so when the sounds of shouting came. Both Sophia's and Blake's head shot up, to the see their oldest children throwing sand at each other and screaming.

"You're a fool." Elijah.

"You're the fool!" Lillian.

"No, you!"

"No, you!"

"You!"

"You!"

Blake sigh echoed Sophia, "We had to know that temporary peace wouldn't have lasted." He pushed himself off from the sand, the hand linked with Sophia's also rising. He made a move to confront his children, but Sophia tugged his hand sharply. He fell awkwardly, one knee in the sand, the other in an awkward crouched position.

Smiling she pressed a soft kiss to his lips. "For courage," she winked. He slightly deepened the kiss, but before he could do so even more, the shouts jarred him out of it.

Shaking his head but grinning nonetheless he got up and screamed, "Elijah! Lillian! Come here, right this instant."

Hearing their father's bellow, they both froze and then simultaneously split apart from one another and ran in opposite directions. Sophia howled in laughter as she watched Blake trying to decide on who to chase, ultimately fed up, his hands on his hips looking lost beyond measure.

He turned towards her, pursing his lips and scowling. "Stop laughing." All that earned him was even more chuckles and even Victoria seemed to be giggling at her father.

Blake seemed to realize this when Sophia looked down at her in surprise and exclaimed, "Her too?"

Sophia just stared at him with amused blue eyes, gnawing at her lips. "Yes, her too."

"I swear all the women in this family- you, Colette, Victoria, Lilly and my mother- are gong to be the death of me."

"Too bad you already walked that road years ago."

Her only response from him was him gave her a not amused- look, fisting his brown curls in his hands and running after Elijah. "Come here!"

It was amusing to watch. He finally got his hands on both of them and rolled them into the sand, laughing, making them pay for their insolent behavior by subjecting them to their punishment- bouts, and bouts of laughter induced by tickling. The worst of them all, some would say.

And Sophia had never seen anything more beautiful, as the sun danced on the ocean waves, baking her skin and soothing her, and the clouds grinned at her from the skies.
