Nicholas Dereham, an English spy was never meant to inherit the title of the Earl of Wiltshire.  But when the very elusive and blond Aveline Argent, Nicholas's prey, kills his titled brother, it means war, and Nick is out to get blood.

"After all these months of running and running, I have finally managed to get my hands on you." A gruff voice whispered and Colette grunted. The bag over her head made everything turn into pitch-black darkness.  She whimpered, the sound getting muffled by the thick cloth.

"You..." He hissed again, and she could almost imagine him throwing daggers out of his eyes at her.

Suddenly he yanked the bag off from her face, and Colette blinked as the room slightly brightened, but not too much.  She tried to get a bearing of her surroundings but it was still much too dark, the only light from a small casement above.

A sudden whoosh of breath made her turn her head towards the left where a man with dark, rugged features was gaping at her. 

"You're not Aveline." His jaw dropped to the floor as he roved his gaze over her.

Colette shook her head, wondering what the hell was going on. 

Nicholas cursed under his breath and slammed his hands on the table, the only other furniture in the room, other than the chair she was tied in.

"Well then, who the hell have I just captured?"
