Chapter Thirty-Three: Gone

A/N: Hello Reader! I know it doesn't take this long for a story and I am sorry for the long wait but here is Chapter 33. The next chapter will be the last chapter so that's a heads up to all of you. I don't know how many times I can thank you all for reading and enjoying (hopefully) my book. I haven't edited anything of this so once I'm done, I'll go through it and edit it and then have someone else edit it for me. To the right is Connor's father. It took me forever to find something I was okay with so thank you again. Enjoy!

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

{Connor's POV}

Good thing Maria was with Eryn. After her contact about them being safe I was already at the end of the woods, still sniffing out any rogue smell but there was nothing I caught. Drayden even searched near Dante and Santana's old place for any smell but not even an ounce of it was sout out. I tried to get in contact with Eryn but she wasn't responding which was a little weird. Usually she would have spoken back. I met back up with Drayden near the town and he didn't get a scent coming back this way.

"What did Maria say?" he asked me.

"She just told me she smelt Rogues in the area. I contacted her about twenty minutes ago, she's with Eryn."

"It's like Maria to get rowdy about nothing." Drayden admitted and then that's when Maria contacted me again,

"Connor! They took Eryn . . . Dante and his goons took Eryn!" The words hit me hard and I looked at Drayden as he gave me a weary look, wondering what was wrong.

"They have Eryn!" I said but didn't wait there long enough for Drayden to wonder anything else. I was already running towards the house. I quickly contacted Kenny and Troy, telling them to stake out the town because Dante had been at my place and took Eryn. In minutes I was in the front of the door to my house and pushing the mahogny door open and that's when I entered into a house that looked like a tornado had hit. The strong smell of rogue and Dante was in the air and I called out for Maria. A muffled sound from the kitchen made me run over to it as Drayden stepped in after me. I found Maria beaten up and leaning against the refrigerator door. I quickly sat her up,

"What happened? Where's Eryn?" I asked but watching as some of her wounds started to heal.

"Eryn opened the door not knowing who it was and Dante and Andrus and . . . And Angel burst through the door, attacking us. I tried to ward them off but I was no use. Angel and Andrus beat me up real bad but Dante took Eryn. I don't know where they went but I know they took off towards the main road because Dante said something about heading back to the cabin." I stared at Maria suspiciously because she told me everything was okay and then I couldn't get a hold of Eryn telepathically which was even more weird. But she was gone and Maria looked bad. I helped her up and told Drayden to head back to the town,

"You stay here Drayden. Maria will show me the way and . . ." Maria stopped me,

"I think it's better if you and Drayden went. I can help the others but I'm no match for the rogues." she said and I had to think about it for a moment before agreeing with her. She had fully healed as Drayden and I sniffed out the area and she was right, they took off towards the main street. She headed back to the town as Drayden and I took off towards the main street. She mentioned something about a cabin and that's when it clicked. The only cabiin I knew about was the one Dante and I grew up in in the next city. That had to be the one she was talking about so I let Drayden know where we were going. He followed behind as we ran in human form. The main road wasn't really clustered with cars so it was okay for us to run in full speed. It took a good ten minutes to get the cabin located just in the middle of the woods of the next city. Dante's smell and Eryn's smell was strong but there was another smell that was a bit weak but familiar but I wasn't  focused on the smell when I heard Eryn scream and in seconds, I was through the door of the cabin as Drayden was behind me and as we entered the cabin Eryn was tied up in a chair in the middle of the cabin. The cabin hadn't changed at all, the logged counches where still set around the fire place as the antlers of of the antelopes Dante and I hunted long ago still hung above the mantle place.

Eryn stared at me but with a surprised stare,

"NO Connor . . . Go back to the town!" she screamed and I didn't care for the words she said as I finished my steps to where she was and started to rip the ropes off of her but I looked around for Dante but didn't see him only smelt him. Drayden stood looking around also but he was thinking the same thing as I, where was Dante?

"It's a trap Connor . . . He's going to kill . . ." Before she could finish, Dante finally appeard from behind Drayden and in seconds, knocked Drayden unconcious. I ran towards Dante, transforming but he stood still, not afraid I was even coming at him and when I was inches away from him, already in wolf form, he grabbed me by the neck and smiled as he threw me across the room with strong force. I quickly got up but stood still as he stood next to Eryn, his hand around her throat.

"Calm down little brother . . . Or she dies." he said and I didn't dare leave my wolf form. I looked over to where Drayden stayed unconcious but Dante sighed,

"Your still the same. Letting your feelings get in the way of what really mattered." I growled as Dante stroked Eryns cheek and Eryn flinched away from him as she glared at nothing in particular. I took a step forward and he set his hands around Eryns neck and I stopped as he spoke again,

"While you and your Beta is here, Angel and Andrus are about to attack your town, killing everyon in it. This was to lure you out of the town and waste time in trying to save your mate. But she too will die with everyone else you love." the smile on his face angered me but just being here my pack was in trouble. I looked over to Eryn and her face of saddness made me not even want to go back but she spoke up,

"Don't you dare think about trying to save me. Your pack is about  to be annialated." she said and I didn't budge as the tears started to form in her eyes. She now glared at me,

"Damnit Connor . . . My life isn't worth your packs life. Get Drayden and go back!" she yelled and I still didn't budge, I didn't want to leave her and I watched as Drayden slowly started to gain conciousness. Dante just stood staring at me with a half smile.

"Leave now before it's too late Connor!" Eryn spoke again.

[She's right Connor! We have to save our pack before it's too late.] my wolf spoke. As much as I didn't want to I knew he was right. In moments I picked up Drayden until he could stand on his own and he looked over at Dante and Eryn in confusion at what was happening.

"Well be back for you Eryn!" I said and Eryn just gave me a weary smile. I looked at Dante, "I should have killed you when I had the chance." I admitted and Dante just smiled, "You should have joined me when you had the chance now you'll see everyone die before you." he said and I just glared at him, turned back into my wolf form as I ordered Drayden to do the same. We took off but I still tried to communicate with her but still nothing. This wasn't like her at all. We took off towards the town and entered through the woods unseen.

{Troy's POV}

After the news of Eryn being kidnapped by the rogues Kenny and Greg started to move the families in towards the other half of the town. I stayed with Maria, who finally finished getting the other pack members out towards the other end of where Santana and Dante use to stay. Maria then  joined me near the town hall and I looked on towards the emptiness of the town and Maria sighed,

"I wonder if Drayden and Connor is okay?" she asked and I faced her but then contacted Connor,

"How is everything going?" I communicated.

"We're on our way back. It was a trap and Dante has Eryn but Andrus and Angel are to attack the town. Be prepared!" I looked over at Maria, "We're to prepare . . ." I started but she gave me a sinister smile as she raised her brow,

"Prepare for the arrival of Andrus and Angel?" she said and I looked at her suspiciously but that's when my insticts kicked in and I turned around to now be faced with Andrus, his smile spreading wide across his face,

"Hi old friend." he said and I backed up a bit.

"You basrtard. I should kill you . . . Maria, run!" I yelled but she started to laugh and I turned aorund to face her but was hit across the head and then blacked out.

I glared at Dante and in the pit of my stomach, I didn't feel too well. Something was going on in the town and I felt helpless. Dante turned to face me with a wicked smile,

"Seems like he's chosen what he cares for most, his pack." the words were meant to hurt but I just kept my glare on him and when he knelt down to my level and tried stroking my cheek again, I turned away,

"You truly are a monster." I replied as he chuckeld,

"Isn't it funny that he's made me this way. And now he's going to see what it's like to lose everything he's ever worked for. Since I want you to witness his fall, I think it's about time that we take a little stroll back to town but not where anyone can see us. There, you can witness the fall of his pack and the rise of mine." he said and I turned to face him with astonishment,

"Your pack? But your a rogue. You can't have pack, can you?"

"Of course I can but it's going to be a pack of destruction. First I'll rule every pack in this world and then I'll kill all humans. I'll then rule all creatures of this world. It'll be nothing but destruction for the human race." He didn't let the evil smile leave as my eyes widen,

"Your crazy, It wont work. You'll never get away with it. Connor wont let you." He then surprised me by leaning in towards me,

"Of course he will. With you near death, he will have to suffer the loss of everyone around him. The only person he'd have to turn to is me. His only brother. Since you have no control of your powers this will be easier then thought of." I couldn't look away because even when I tried, I could feel the hurt and evil that roamed off of him. The tears started to run down my cheeks because the thought of everyone dying and being under the rule of one evil man seemed unreal. Dante then wiped away the tears that started to fall on it's own,

"Don't worry, you won't miss the death of those you've come to love. You'll be there, front row seat. As I kill them all off, I take care of you. Can you see it now the blood running down my fingers when I rip into their hears, women, children and men and  . . ."

"Shut up! You monster, just shut up!" I screamed, cutting him off. He just smirked and stood up, took the ropes off of me and pulled me out of my seat,

"It's about that time we get back to the town, just got word that They've rallied everyone and yes, your mate is there. He won't make a move or demand it because he knows I'll kill you." the smile that spread across his face was sinister and I cringed inside. I had no choice but to follow him to his truck parked out back and he drove out of the wooded area once I got into the truck.

We took a longer route to where the road lead into the town and my eyes widened at the site of the pack members layed down faced on the ground and Connor standing up next to Maria and Angel as Andrus knelt down near Drayden. Connor was clothed and in his human form, as was Drayden. Dante quickly pulled me out of the truck and dragged me along until we now stood in front of Connor. Connor lifted his head but glared at Dante as Dante pulled me away from him and threw me to where Maria was as she caught me and pulled my arms behind me. I grunted and Connor looked over to me and then at Maria, the deathliest stare layed up on Maria and I could have sworn a small switch of emotions showed on her face but she quickly looked away. Dante set his hands behind him and sighed,

"I'll make this quick for you but while I was driving with your beautiful mate, I had a great plan just thought of. Before killing off the pack members. I wanted to see who was loyal enough to you." Dante finished and turned around to face the rest of the packs. I looked over to where Marias mother was layed down but her head tilted up just enough for her to see her daughter as she spoke,

"Why are you doing this Maria?" she asked and Dante and Maria looked over to her. Maria didn't show no emotions as he watched her mother in distress.

"For the new world of wolves mother. To have that we must sacrafice." she answered and I looked at her,

"Your fucking crazy." I said and she glared down at me and back handed me hard across the face and blood left my lips. In a rush, I seen Connor about to attack but Dante was faster as he stepped in the front of him and knocked him down as Connor flew a few feet away from us. Dante walked over to where he lay and knelt down,

"Don't try that again." he warned him as he stood back up and Connor spit the blood out of his mouth and stood up slowly. He was helpless and his pack was going to be slaughtered in the front of him. He didn't even dare look my way. Our contact was cut off because of Dante and now my sorceress was in hiding. There was nothing we could do. Dante walked back over to where the pack was and let out a relief of breath,

"As I was saying, I have a plan. A great plan. My first plan was to kill everyone in this town and let Connor suffer but then I thought, I need a great army to rule this world and what better chance then my old pack. Strongest and smartest. So it's simple; If you don't want to die . . . Join me." he said and I looked out towards the pack memebers as some of them looked up to face him in astonishment. Dante continued,

"Join me or die where you lay!" I then heard the clocking of a gun and seen Andrus holding a pistol gun. He wasn't going to do what I think he was going to do? He was going to kill them with a bullet. God no . . . This was a nightmare. At first, no one moved and I was happy but that's when I seen Maria's mother stand up and dust herself off. Dante smiled,

"I'm glad your coming to your senses mother . . ." he said and Jane glared at Dante cutting him off, "Don't you call me that. You are no longer a son of mine. My daughter would be disgusted with you. And you Maria are even lower then he. Kill me where I stand because I would never join scums like you!" she said and Dante let the smile he had on his face faulter and then replaced with a replused look,

"Still the same old hag I remember. That's fine then, you'll be the first example!" he said and like that a shot was heard and I watched Jane fall to her knees as the bullet piercing through her heart flew past and the blood splattered out of her chest. I tried to reach out to catch her but Maria pulled me back and I was astonished on how she didn't even flinch when her mother was shot. Kids cried and mothers weeped from the horrific shot and then the scene. Dante sighed,

"So if you want to live, I'll count to 10 and those who stand next to me will live while the rest die. Choose wisely!" he said and then started to count. When he got to six, a few guys and their family got up and joined him. None of Connor's close pack friends even thought about it, they stayed still and didn't dare look our way. Once Dante reached ten it was only a few of the younger guys who joined and their wives. The other families were too loyal to Connor. A woman and her 15-year-old child stood next to Dante shaking and crying. Everyone else kept their loyality and I looked over to Connor, who stood with his head down and his hands clenched to his side as he finally spoke,

"Dante  . . . Don't do this please." he said and Dante looked over to him as Connor lifted his head. He wasn't crying but the hurt I could feel as he dropped to his knees,

"Please brother. Don't do this. Kill me and let them go." he was now begging and Dante walked over to him and knelt down to his level,

"It's a bit too late to beg brother. You really do care for them don't you? You value their lives for mine. You'll soon come to your senses after you witness their deaths and then you'll want to join me because I'm the one whose going to still care for you." Dante combed his fingers through Connor's head and then got up, walked back to where some of the pack members who joined him stood. He then faced them and smiled. He looked over to me and then winked as he looked back at the people who joined him,

"I'm glad you all chose wisely . . . Loyality is a big part of being in a pack. Funny how it turns people when life or death is part of it. Their is one thing I can not stand . . . Unloyal companions." and in a moment, Dante pulled out a long silver knife and in a blink of an eye, he sliced those who went with him, in the throat. The sound of gargling and trying to breath made my puke and that's when the 15-year-old boy fell near me, his eyes in tears as he clenched at his throat and his eyes stared up at me for help. I was helpless as I started to tear up. More wails and cries came from those who laid faced down on the floor. The site was horrible to where I wanted to be one of them faced down on the ground so I wouldn't have to see the deaths. A massacar. He threw the blade near me but my focus was on the little boy whose eyes had gone from pure black to his normal eye color. The tears flowed now as the body lay stiff. Dante walked over to me and lifted my chin as I stared at him blurried eyed from the tears that fell. He smiled wickedly,

"I hope those are tears of joy because I've got a special task for you." he said as Maria threw me towards him and he grabbed me by my arm and forced me infront of Connor as I knelt onto my knees. My hands automatically threw themselves over him and hugged him but he didn't hug me back as I pulled him away from me at arms length,

"Connor." I whispered and he didn't look up from where he stared at. He was lost. I lifted his chin,

"Connor!" I whispered again but he slowly looked up at me with a blank stare, no emotion even when he looked at me. I've never seen this look on him. Dante then threw the knife where he sat as I stared down at the blood stained silver. The hilt part of it was rubber as Connor looked down at it and then at Dante. I looked up at Dante as he smiled down at Connor,

"Kill her and I save only one person from the pack . . . Anyone you choose brother." he said and Connor finally showed a hint of emotion as he scrunched his eyes then looked at me then back at Dante,

"I'd rather kill myself." he answered and Dante waved for Andrus to hand him the gun. When Andrus set the gun into Dante's hand, Dante cocked it back and walked over to a little girl, not even close to 3 and pointed the gun at her head,

"Her or this little girls life." he said as the mother of the little girl tried to grab her daughter to protect her but Angel pulled the womans hair and threw her a feet or so away from where Dante and the little grew was set. The little girls wails made me pick the knife up and force it in his hand,

"Do it Connor!" I demanded and Connor tried to drop the knife but I held onto his hand. He shook his head,

"No . . . I can't do it!" Connor said, tears making it's way down his cheek. I wiped the tear away and held his hand with the knife up to my heart,

"Yes you can. My life isn't worth that little girls life." I said and Connor shook his head furiously.

"You've got three seconds!" Dante yelled and I quickly looked at Dante then back at Connor,

"STOP BEING STUBBORN AND DO IT!" I yelled loud and angry. He didn't budge and Dante started to count,

                       "1 . . ."

Connor's hand started to shake and I leaned my head against his,

"I love you Connor. This is your pack and you have to save them. This is the only way." I said and he started to tear up some more. His hand started to lower as I heard Dante say 2. I stroked Connor's cheek and leaned in to kiss him and pulled away. Dante then counted to 3 but I was quicker as I grabbed Connor's hand and forced the knife through me. The pain was worst then being tortured by Penelope and Connor's eyes went wide in surprise. I felt the knife sticking out from my side and my breathing began to pick up as the blood started to run down my hands. Connor pulled the knife out but I couldn't kneel any more because I was now numbing. Connor pulled me into him,

"No Eryn . . .Please. " I could barley hear him say. My eyes slowly looked over to where the little girl now crawled back to her mother and Dante's smile spread across his face. Connor made me face him and my focus zoomed into his beautiful eyes, those light brown and green eyes I've come to love. His tears dripped onto my face as he tried to wake me but his words were faint. The numbness took over my torso and then made it's way up my arms. Even him touching me I couldn't feel it. The stab was to the side of where my lungs were and I could feel the horrible burn of trying to beathe. A small noise in the distance, a howl it sounded like, was the last noise I heard as I drifted into emptiness, complete darkness. Completely blacking out and then a faint voice, hypnotizing in the distance. A woman familiar but my thoughts cleared as my life drifted away.
