CHAPTER NINETEEN

Thursday evening dragged on like all the rest of the days that had passed. Gina and Brody were at the bar with Greg. I've found a bit of information on the Swope family. They use to live near New York City but moved down towards Bronx a year after. They had no kids and adopted a little girl, my mother. Other then that, nothing. Tomorrow morning, I was going to go down to the address that was given on the site and ask around about the family. Right now, I was hungry. Caine had cooked dinner for the house and since he was down stairs probably watching TV, I decided to join him. I was right about him watching TV. I grabbed a plate of spaghetti home made by him. Native American style. I sat next to him,

"What are you watching?" I asked.

"CSI: Miami." he said. I love this show, I thought to myself. It was the episode of a spring break gone wrong. Three friends found dead. All of them, like always, brutually murdered. Caine was a bit too into it because he was guessing on who the killer was. When he was wrong, he said he knew it was the person that really was the murderer.. The spaghetti was so good I literally devoured it. Caine turned the channel to the Discovery Channel,

"Any luck with the search?" he asked.

"A bit. I'm taking a trip to Brooklyn if your up for it." I answered. He nodded, "Yeah. I've never been there." Then he perked up and went silent. I knew he was communicating and I knew it was Connor. Probably checking up on me. After Caine finished with his communcating he turned to me, "Connor . . ." I cut him off before he could say anything else,

"Checking up on me?" I blurted and he just smiled, nodding.

"Yeah. He also said he might be coming back at the end of next week." Caine repremended and I nodded. I could hold out for an extra week. It's not like a whole century. Then why was it eating inside me. I really missed him.

"Any luck with the rogues then?" I asked instead of trying to let my mind wonder.

"No. He's still in a bind and it didn't make it better that Maria showed up . . ." he stopped as if to had said something wrong. He looked at me, his face gone ashen. Who was Maria? I raised an eyebrow, "Maria?" I asked without sounding curious. It could of just been someone from long ago. It didn't work and Caine could tell, "She's just part of the pack." he was lying. Instead of trying to ask him who Maria was, I changed the subject, "I was wondering if you were doing anything tomorrow night?" I asked.

"Nope. Just patrolling and watching over you, why?" he asked and I shrugged my shoulders, "Oh nothing, just wondering." I replied. He turned away and paid attention to the TV. The real reason for me asking was to find a way to go out with Gina and Jamie to the club. I called Jamie yesterday and wanted to see if she was down to go with us. At first, she sounded hesitant but ended up saying she'd go. Now to do it without Caine knowing or without Brody finding out. Only person I knew who could plan anything would be Gina. I'd leave it up to her.

"I'm going to head to bed. See you tomorrow morning. Be up early so we can head to the Bronx." I said and he nodded. I walked up the stairs and into my room. I grabbed my lap top and checked my email and nothing. I Shut it off and set it on my night stand. I went into the restroom, took a shower, brushed my teeth, threw on some PJ's and got into bed. The last thing on my thoughts was Connor. I missed him.

My body was being shaken but I grunted and mumbled, for whoever was shaking me, to get out of my room. His voice came again, "Eryn, wake up!" Caines voice was irritating. I grunted again and he pulled the covers off of me as I forced my body into a fetal position and turned over to him, "What do you want?" I asked him. He sighed, "It's almost 10 in the morning. We're suppose to be heading into Bronx to find any information on the family, remember?" he said and in an instant, I got up, "Shit!" I said, getting out of bed, looking at my clock. It was 9:45. Oh great, I was hoping to have a early start, that went down the drain. I quickly walked into the bathroom,

"I'm going to be down stairs, waiting." Caine said. I started to brush my teeth. I quickly washed my face and brushed my hair out, putting it up in a pony tail. I slipped into blue jeans and put an NYU sweater on. I didn't bother to look in the mirror. I ran down stairs, grabbed my key and looked at Caine, who was on the couch, "Ready?" I asked. He gave me surprised look, "That was fast." he said I just smiled as he got up and followed me out into the beautiful sunny day of Friday. He got into the passenger side of my Impala and I got into the driver side. He set his seat belt on and I did the same. We drove out of the dirted lot and onto the  main road.

Like always, the streets of New York was crowded and getting to Manhatten was going to be a little longer then having to go from our place to New York. After the traffic had died down just long enough for us the be able to be in the upper east side of Manhatten, we traveled towards the west side of Bronx. The address read 3216 Irwin Avenue in the Bronx of New York. In ten minutes, we were parked in front of an attached home with a garage on the bottom of it. It was a three story home. Brown bricked home that had steel stairs that lead up to the second floor where the front door was. Caine and I both got out of the car that was parked across the  street and I sighed, "Well, there's an old cadiallac in front of the house, lets go check it out." he nodded and we both walked over to the house.

I walked up the steel black stairs first and Caine followed. I knocked on the screen door that covered the main door. No one came and I knocked again. Still no answer. Someone had to be here if the car was here. I knocked again and it was a bit louder because the neighbor from the left house walked out,

"If your looking for the Gray's, they've gone on vacation." an elderly woman said. Caine and I looked at eachother and I looked back at the elderly woman,

"Do you know when they'll be back?" I asked and the elderly woman shook her head,

"I don't dear but this is the time of year they take their vacation." I nodded and before she could go in I quickly asked, "Have they've been here in this house very long?" The elderly women thought about it for just a second and shook her head, "No. This here use to belong to the Swope family long ago. They've moved. If you ask me, that family was a bit odd but only after they adoted there child." she said and my body had tensed as my heart started to beat faster.

"You knew the Swope family?" I asked, now walking down the steps and towards the womans house. She didn't seem to fear me, I'd hope she didn't as she answered,

"Yes. My old soul has been her since these buidlings were built. The Swope family was a very decent couple, young and vibrant. Dana Swope couldn't have kids so they adopted." she said and I knew that was my mother. I was now on the steps of the womans stairs and my hope had finally risen. I found something on the family.

"Their daughter? What do you mean strange when they adopted her?"

"The daughter had horrible headaches but I'd hear screams from the house from the child and I'd walk over to see what was wrong but John Swope always told me it was just minor migraines, nothing to worry. That was long ago. That poor family." She seemed to be in a distant place now but I snapped her out of it when I asked, "Do you know where there at now?"

"I don't dear. I do know after another headache from the child they had to move." she said. I thanked her and Caine and I walked back to my car.

"Now what?" Caine asked. I looked at him, "Now I know I have to ask the realestate agent who sold this house to the Gray's. If anyone knows anything about the Swopes, the realitor would." I said. My mother was having the headaches at a young age also. The family must've been really terrified on how to handle it. Did my mother do anything to have harmed them? I started the car. I had to head back to the house and do a bit more research on who sold the house.

We arrived at the house around noon and I quickly got out as Caine followed. My uncles truck was still in the drive way and I didn't dare miss the red bullet bike that belonged to Connor. Just looking at it reminded me of him. Good thing Caine didn't catch me staring at it. As the day drug on, my research was picking up. The realitor was Evingston, a small company that the smaller portion of the Bronx gets there homes sold by. I wrote the address down and  set the piece of paper on my night stand. I would have to deal with it on Saturday. At the moment my stomach was calling for food.

Brody had joined Caine and I down stairs. His first thing was to eat. He then sat next to me on the couch, "How was your research?" Brody asked.

"I found the home they use to stay in with mom. I've gotta find the realitor who sold the house to the family who live there now." I had a pop in my hand as I drunk it down. Brody leaned forward, "Why didn't you ask the family that lives there?"

"They were on vacation. One of the neighbors, who was also the Swopes neighbor when they use to live there, gave me all the details of the family. Mom use to have the headaches then according to the neighbor."

"Really interesting. Look, I've gotta get to the bar early. Victor is bringing in a supply of blood early, right after the sun sets. Gina said she'd stop by here, let her know I've left without her." he said. I nodded as he walked upstairs to get ready. Obviously Greg was still asleep but I knew he was going to head over to the bar and help them out. I also knew Gina well enough to know she had a plan. All I had to do was wait until she came to my place.

It was six in the evening when Gina arrived. I had already gotten a text from Jamie, who said she was getting ready and she would meet us at the club. Greg had taken off to the bar to help Brody but Gina had called Brody to let him know she was not coming in. Lying to him about being sick. He bought it and now it was Caine she was working on. Since Caine didn't know she wasn't going in, she had a great plan in mind. She ushered me to go up stairs and grab some clothes in a bag, clothes I was going to wear to the club. I did as she asked and let her handle Caine.

I walked into my walk in closet and started searching through it. I never been to a club so the clothes I had were not club material. Alright, lets compromise for a bit. I grabbed a few clothes that looked cute enough, a dark black cocktail type dress just half at the thigh. A dark blue flare out dress. Skinny's that would go cute with a white button up I had. I grabbed a pair of heels, wedged heels and flats. I threw them all in a bag and grabbed underwears and a bra, we were probably going over to her place. I grabbed the bag, threw it over my shoulder and walked down stairs.

Gina had her hands folded, "Alright, we'll be at the bar with Brody and Greg. Don't go crazy." She said and Caine nodded,"Have fun. I need a break of watching you for the day." he said. I smiled, he was so gulliable sometimes. Gina winked at me, she always knew a way out of things. We walked over to her white Grand A.M. With the job she had and killing gas, she was on a budget. I got in and she got into the driver side, "Easy as pie." she said and I laughed. All of a sudden, I was nervous. I've never danced on a dance floor, not that I knew how to and I was afraid that Gina was going to roofie me. We drove to her place. Her apartment was on the third floor and when we got inside, I was amazed on the designe she did to it. A safari theme was what the decor was. Her flat screen TV was set up in the middle of her living room and her coffee table seperated her couches from her TV. She told me I could get ready in her room.

I entered the room and immediatley took in the cheeta print silk blankets and sheets. That didn't surprise me with her. I took a shower, blowed dried my hair and let it hang down as I slipped into the first outfit, the skinny jeans and white ruffled shirt that were cut at the sleeves. I looked at myself and Gina walked in, a face of digust, "Oh no honey. You ain't going to the club looking like that." I glared at her but tried another outfit on. The dark blue dress that flared out. She looked at it and gagged, "Mmm Mmm." I threw that outfit out and tried the cocktail dress and she laughed, "Gurl . . . You really need guidance on dressing up," She walked into her closet, pulled out a silky knee high dress, beautiful light gray. It was a tube top and my eyes widen at it,

"No way." I said, backing up as she set it against my body to see if it would fit. She nodded in approval, "Perfect. Just try it on." she said. I shook my head, "If my uncle seen me with that on he would kill you." I said and Gina puckered her lips, "The hell he would. Look, just try it on and see if you like it. It's cute and sexy and not too revealing." She was right about it being sexy but revealing, yeah right. I might as well go into the club with a sign that read, I'm a whore take me now. She gave me the dress, "Just try it." I glared at her but I took it just to get her off my back. I walked into her bathroom and a few minutes later I came back out and looked at myself in the mirror. It hugged my curves perfectly. She was right, it wasn't as revealing as I thought it would be. She smiled, "See, sexy." she said and then she scrunched her eyebrows together, "Now we just have to do your make-up. Your too pretty to cover up so we'll go natural." she said.

After she made me up she let me slip into open toed slip ons that went well with the dress. She set my hair in an up due and let half hang. She sighed, "Alright, your done." I turned to look at myself in the mirror and gasped. I was really pretty. Not that I wasn't naturally but seeing me in a different look was amazing. I smiled and she approved, "Alright. Call your friend and tell her we'll be there at ten." I nodded, texted Jamie, who replied okay, and waited as Gina got ready.

Gina took longer then I ever would have. She came out in black thigh shorts and a vest that only covered her boobs but showed everything else. She had stelleo heels and her hair was scrunched out. She was pretty, like always, "Alright, you ready?" she asked. I nodded and I followed her out to her car. Jamie had text me and said she was five minutes away from the club. We were about the same minutes away. Gina started the car and drove towards the direction of Cielo.

Gina drove up to an attached building in an alleyway type of street and just to the right, a line was formed exiting out from the Club. It was so long that it went all the way to the other street. She was right about the club being famous. She parked near the entrance of the club and got out. I did the same and men's eyes quickly averted our way. I felt uncomfortable with their eyes focused on me. Gina joined me and took my arm, "Don't worry. It's because your so damn sexy." she said, winking at me. That didn't make it any better. We walked towards the entrance and my phone went off as I quickly answered,

"Hello." I answered, not checking the caller ID.

"It's Jamie. I'm here at the end of the line, where you at?" she asked. Gina told me to tell her to walk to the front of the entrance. I did as I was told and hung up. In minutes, Jamie walked up to us. I thought my outfit was sexy, her's was ten times better. Already I could tell it was a designer dress and the way it hugged her curves, I knew she wouldn't have any problem having someone want to dance with her. I introduced  Jamie and Gina and after, Gina had us follow her to the front of the line, where a bouncer was checking people in. He was a big light skinned man with muscles that had muscles. He looked at us approaching, "Sorry ladies you gotta get in line." he said, pointing to the back. Gina smiled at him, "I'm sure we don't." and as the man looked at her, a smile spread across his face, "No you don't. Please, come right in." he said, letting all three of us in. The people in line gave us glares but that was how it was when you were a sucubus, get whatever you wanted.

The music in the club filled it as the dance floor was pumping. The ceilings where covered with disco balls and balloons. The atmostphere was amazing. Jamie started moving her bottom to the song that was on and Gina was dancing towards the bar. We followed. This wasn't my scene for sure but I try to blend in. Gina sat at the bar and I sat on the right of her as Jamie sat on the left.

"Hey handsome, three shots of Tequilla." Gina said to a young bartender. He quickly obeyed and had our shots infront of us. I shook my head, "Come on . . . I'm not drinking that." I said, never once had I drank hard liquor. Gina grunted, "You missed your 21st . . ." she stopped and looked at Jamie trying to lower her voice and not say it too loud. Jamie was too busy dancing to the beat to be paying any attention to me.

"You missed your 21st. Just do this to have some fun. We all need it." she said, smiling but whispering loud enough for me to hear. I sighed and smiled back, "Alright." I said and she smiled big, "Alright girls, tonight we gonna get crazy." she held her shot glass up and we did the same and toatsted to the night and downed the clear liqued. I felt every drop hit my tongue and make it's way to the pit of my stomach. The burning feeling made me want to wipe the taste off but in some way, it felt good. Gina ordered another round and we drank up. Jamie was dancing and having fun on the dance floor with a really cute Italian man. He was grinding on her as she let him and she did a booty dance that made him go red. Gina and I sat at a booth table taking shots. I could already feel the drunken Eryn coming out. This was my first time feeling so alive and energized. Gina had more shots then any of us.

"Y. . .You know Geena." I slurred. Those ten shots in me had me blurred at the vision a bit.

"I reaaallly th . . . think you are sho cooool." I had a sex on the beach drink in my hand, sipping at it. Gina started to laugh, "Guuurrl. I know dis." she said, taking another shot. I started to laugh and she stood up, "I need to dance." she said as I cheered her on. I watched as she walked onto the dance floor and started dancing on some stranger. The beat of the music made me start to move my body. Then someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around to look up at a tall handsome brown man. He was smiling down at me and the tight silk shirt he was wearing looked small on him. His muscles were too big and I couldn't really see his neck. He sat next to me,

"Do you wanna dance?" he asked. I smiled at him, "Not reaallly." I said trying not to sound too drunk nor wasted, but I couldn't help it, I was. He set his hand on my thigh and I perked up as he smiled deeper, "Come on baby, your too sexy to be sitting here alone." I swatted his hand away, "Your too . .. Your a . . . Your a fat head." I said. I knew I sounded drunk and stupid all at once. He started to laugh,

"Come on . . . I won't bite. Unless you want me too." he grabbed my arm and I pulled away, "You better go away . . . You have . . . You have . . ." I started to say but I really couldn't remember what I had to say. He started to laugh, "I've got a better idea, lets get out of here and have some fun back at my place." He grabbed my arm forcefully and I smacked him in the face, "Get away from me." I said and he just smiled, "I like it when a woman fights." He threw his self on me, trying to kiss me. I could smell the heavy whiskey on his breath. I pushed him off, "Gross." I said, quickly getting up and trying to get away from the area but I stumbled over as he grabbed me by the arm again but I pulled away but falling back on my ass. He started to laugh as I glared at him, "Let me help you up baby." He said, trying to reach his hand out towards me. I hit it away as I slowly got up. My body was wobbling now as I was about to fall forward but the man quickly grabbed me and I knew I was unable to walk straight. He whispered, "Lets go back to my place." I tried to mumble no but I felt so drunk, I couldn't even talk right. I then started to feel myself being pulled. I knew it was the man and he was walking me towards the exit.
