"Who are you?"
"Demon to some. Angel to others."

A gentle breeze swept across the summer afternoon, and with it came the smell of happiness. Of salty popcorn and sweet cotton candy. As the joyful smell crept into her nose Brooklyn smiled. She had always loved the fair, particularly the Ferris Wheel. She loved being able to escape and pretend she was a child again, excitedly waiting in line for all the rides. The afternoon soon drifted into the evening, the sun dipped behind the horizon and was replaced by the moon. Brooklyn was waiting patiently in line for the Merry-Go-Round, most of the younger children had gone home, so she didn't feel as bad when she lined up for a children ride. Her friends Noah, Jess and Finn stood behind her, less enthusiastic but nevertheless happy to accompany her. As they approached the front of the line they were met by an older woman with dark brown hair. She looked the group up and down, her lips pressed into a thin line.
"Under 12's only" She said irritatedly and pointed to the sign beside her.
Brooklyn raised a brow. "Are you serious? We paid for an all rides pass"
The woman rolled her eyes and again pointed to the sign. "If your not under 12 then get out of the line." She snapped and Jess reached out and grabbed Brooklyn's arm. "Come on." She said as she pulled her out of the line.
"How stupid was that?!" Brooklyn exclaimed. Noah smiled at her gently. "Come on Brook, who needs her? Let's get something to eat instead." He suggested. "I'll even buy you a strawberry milkshake." He added playfully and Brooklyn cracked a smile.
"Ok."
The group soon had their food and were just waiting on Brooklyn's milkshake, which Noah had indeed paid for.
"Brook, we're going to grab that seat, meet us there." Jess said and they ran to grab the table before anyone else could. Before long Brooklyn had her milkshake, but as she turned to leave she ran straight into someone. Her milkshake splattering all over his shirt and pants.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry!" She cried out and grabbed some napkins. The boy chuckled and looked up at her, flashing a smile. "Its ok. No harm done." She couldn't help but notice the strange colour of his eyes. They were a deep green, like a forest, but they had a hint of something that she just couldn't place.
"Are you sure?" She asked, she felt so embarrassed. "Its fine, I can't say the same about your milkshake though. Would you like a new one?" The boy asked thoughtfully. "Oh no it's fine." She insisted. "Are you sure? I can-" She cut him off before he could finish.
"It's fine, honestly." She said with a smile. "I have to go, my friends are waiting." She said and waved at them, but as she turned back, the boy was no where to be seen. She furrowed her brows and walked over to meet her friends.
"What took you so long? And where is your milkshake?" Finn asked.
"It's a long story." She began and stole one of their fries.
"Ive got time." Noah said with a smirk.
"Well-" She began.
"Shit guys. Its my mom, she wants me home now." Jess said, the other looked at each other, they had expected this. Jess's mom never let her stay out past 9 o'clock.
"Guess that means we have to go too. You coming Brook?" Both boys said, Jess had given them a ride to the fair. Brooklyn only lived a few blocks away, so she had walked.
Brooklyn tried to hide her disappointment. "Nah it's ok, I'll stay and ride one more time on the Ferris Wheel, then I'll go." She said and stood to hug her friends. They said their goodbyes and soon Brooklyn was left alone. She sighed gently and finished off the rest of the fries. When she was finished she made her way to the Ferris Wheel, stepping inside the carriage on her own. Just as the ride was about to start, a boy came running over.
"C'mon, there must be room for one more." He cried and the attendant let him into Brooklyn's carriage.
"Hello again." She looked up to see the before from earlier that she had run into.
"Hi." She said with a quick smile, she was still upset that her friends had left. The ride soon began to move.
"You seem lonely, where are all your friends?" He said abrubtly. She looked over at him, her blue eyes catching his green ones.
"I didn't catch your name earlier." She said and she felt the ride stop, allowing another person on at the bottom.
"Oh I'm Peter. And you are....?"
"Brooklyn." She supplied, they began to move again, creeping closer to the top.
"Well Brooklyn." He placed emphasis on her name. "Why are you all alone?"
"I'm not." She snapped, although this was clearly not the case.
He raised an eyebrow. "Really? You must either be in denile or really crazy."
Brooklyn let out a small laugh, and the ride stopped. She looked out at the view, they were at the top.
"Ok ok you got me. My friends had to leave, and I wanted to stay." She held up her hands in defeat.
"Let me guess, this is your favourite ride?"
She let out another giggle. "Wow your good at this."

The pair continued to make small talk until the ride was over, at which point they awkwardly said goodbye and Brooklyn was left alone, again. She wandered around the fair for a little longer before deciding to leave. She made her way out and began walking across the desolate carpark. A cool breeze began to blow and she wished she had brought a jacket. As she was walking she felt an eerie presence behind her. Gently she turned and saw nothing, just the shimmering lights of the fair in the distance and the glistening water beside it. She rolled her eyes, she could be way too overreactive sometimes. She turned back and was met by a pair of forest green eyes. She let out a shriek and fell to the ground.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you." Peter said and outstretched his hand. Brooklyn grabbed it and he helped her to her feet.
"You can't just sneak up on people like that!" She scolded, she had never been one to appreciate things like that.
"I didn't mean to." He said defensively. Brooklyn rolled her eyes and continued walking. "Hey do you want to come with me?" He called out and followed her. She stopped in her tracks and turned to face him.
"What?"
"I can take you to a magical land, and we can have adventures all the time." Brooklyn raised her brow. "Magic? Uh ok, it was nice meeting you but I have to go." She turned away from the boy and began walking, warning lights were flashing in her mind.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." He called, his voice slightly deeper, but not by much. "I'll give you one last chance."
By this point Brooklyn had had enough, who did he think he was?
"Oh yeah? What are you going to do?" She called and he just stood, but she noticed his body changed slightly. His stance became more defensive and he stood tall and his hands balled into fists. Brooklyn turned to run but crashed straight into the boy who had only been meters behind her seconds ago. Once again she fell to the ground and her eyes met with his, but they too had changed. They were darker, almost black. Instinct soon took over her as she kicked his leg from under him, causing him to fall. She took the opportunity and ran. Her feet pounded against the ground, her lungs dying for air, and she made the mistake of turning to see if she could see him. For when she turned back he was in front of her again, and this time he caught her in his arms.
"I warned you." He growled as she struggled around in his arms.
"Who are you?!" She screamed.
He chuckled. "Oh did I forget to introduce myself? I'm Peter. Peter Pan."
He blew pink dust into her face and spots began to cloud her vision. Soon she couldn't stand and he supported her body weight as she slumped against him.
"And you. Are mine"
