I chickened out; I'm such a chicken.

Ok, I'm just going to get this over with, once and for all.

"Okay, that wasn't what I was going to say. I chickened out, and used that as a cover-up. Sorry. What I really want to say is..." I took a deep breath.

"Adam, I love you."

Oh shit.

.........................Present............................

I closed my eyes and internally panicked.

What have I done?

I opened one eye, and saw Adam's mouth had dropped open.

"U-uh-uh," he stuttered.

I opened the other eye.

"Okay, look, I've been wanting to just, get that over with for so long now, and when I say I love you, I don't mean in that BFF kind of way, I mean LOVE love. And, I know, it's just not right, and I've tried to stop it, I've tried to deny it, but it all comes down to this: I don't know how, I don't know when, but I fell deeply in love with you," I rambled.

"And I understand that you don't feel the same way, that you could never feel the same way, because best friends aren't supposed to feel that way, but I cant help it. And I know that this was probably a huge mistake and it might ruin our awesomeness friendship, but I just couldn't take it anymore! I had to say it, it was driving me insane!" I continued.

I got up and turned around to face Adam.

"And I also understand if you don't wanna talk to me, or you avoid me, or you laught at me, whatever. I just had to say it." I flopped my hands down at my side exasperatedly.

I closed my eyes and let one teardrop fall.

Well, I didn't really let it. The little sucker made its way down on its own without my permission. It's not like I wanted to cry, especially not now, in front of Adam.

"Uh, well that's pretty much it. And I'm sorry I'm so stupid, I just ruined everything!" I mentally slapped myself. Correction- I mentally b!tch slapped myself.

I turned back around and hurriedly said, "Bye."

I started fast walking towards Adam's car. My plan was to grab the McDonalds bag, and make a run for it.

I would then camp out with the squirrels and bunnies, surviving off whatever was in that bag.

I'll wear a paper bag over my head for these next three weeks.

I'll change my name.

Ooh! I'll pick a princess name! My new name will be... Ariel! (I love The Little Mermaid!)

I got to his car, and grabbed the bag.

I started running towards the woods by the park.

I almost made it, when someone grabbed me by the arm, making me drop the bag. They turned me around, and I closed my eyes in fear.

I was pushed against their chest.

Then, I felt their lips on mine.

My eyes widened. I was just in utter shock.

The person I saw in front of me was no other than Adam.

Apparently, I was a little too shocked, because then he pulled away looking embarrassed.

"I- sorry-" he mumbled.

I cupped his face in my hands, and pressed my lips onto his with so much passion, so much more than I was aware I was capable of producing.

He kissed back and put his hands on my waist.

We stayed there for a long time, not even bothering to take a breather.

When we finally pulled apart, I was panting for air.

Adam pressed his forehead to mine.

"I love you too," he said before our lips collided again.

Three words: Best. Day. Ever.
