Feel and Hear

ANDI WASN'T SURE HOW SHE AND THE OTHERS WERE GOING TO FIX THE OPEN DOOR SITUATION, but she still tried to get through school as if it was any normal day, except for the fact that it wasn't. At least not for her or her friends. She tried her best to put everything in the back of her mind and focus which didn't turn out so bad but when class was over, she started to think again. For the last few weeks, all she did was think. About her friends, about her and Isaac, about her new friendships with Kendall and Lydia, and more importantly, she kept thinking about the ancient book and the missing chapter, wondering what it could've been about, who would take it and why.
Her train of thought was put on hold when she noticed Kira carrying two more bags and walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. "Are those Stiles and Scott's bags?" she asked.
"Yeah, they walked out of class and left them. I think Stiles had a panic attack and Scott took him to the nurse's office so that's where I'm heading," Kira replied and Andi smiled.
"Let me take one," she said as she took Scott's bag and Kira smiled back at her as they headed to the nurse's office but stopped when they heard growling. A coyote walked out from around the corner, the light reflecting in its eyes as it bared its teeth and growled louder at the girls. "Run."
The two of them started running and Andi stopped as Kira kept running, not even noticing that she wasn't following her. Andi dropped Scott's bag and turned around as the coyote came closer and she lifted her hand. Her eyes turned green and magic gathered at her palm as she focussed. She was suddenly taken back to a moment where glass was breaking, tires were skidding and the people inside the car were screaming in terror. She saw a baby doll and blood and she also heard growling and she blinked and was taken back to the hallway where the coyote was staring at her and growling as it charged at her.
"Stop!" she said. The coyote stopped where it was and looked quietly into her green eyes. Its own eyes turned green as Andi kept speaking. "Leave this building and go back to the woods. And stay there."
The coyote's eyes changed back and it whined as it turned around and left the school and Andi sighed as Stiles walked out. "What the hell did you do?" he asked.
"There was a coyote and it tried to attack me and Kira so I got it to leave. You make it sound like I did something bad," Andi said and Stiles sighed.
"That coyote is Malia Tate, a girl who went missing eight years ago after her mother and sister died in a car accident, which we're sure wasn't an accident because the bodies were slashed and covered in bites. On top of that, the accident happened on the night of a full moon and Scott is sure that's Malia," Stiles explained and Andi stood there looking at him.
"You mean to tell me that the coyote I just mind controlled to leave is actually a little girl?" she questioned and Stiles sighed as he nodded. "Stiles, I looked inside of its mind and I think I saw the accident you were talking about but I didn't know the coyote was there as a human girl. Who else knows about Malia Tate?"
"Just me, Scott and my dad," Stiles answered.
Andi exhaled slowly through her nose. "Granted, this doesn't change the fact that no one said anything to me about this," she said.
"We didn't know she would come here. Plus, you already have a lot on your mind with the dilemma with me, Scott and Allison," Stiles said.
"It doesn't matter! Not telling me important things until after I almost get attacked—" Andi didn't even finish her sentence as her eyes turned bright green and magic started to gather around her fingers and move up her arms.
Stiles stepped back as she closed her eyes and the magic faded away and when she opened her eyes, they were brown again. She took a slow and steady breath as she looked at Stiles who had concern written all over his face.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"I'm fine. It doesn't matter what you or Scott thought. One of you should've told me what was happening so if something like this ever happened, I could've dealt with it without mind controlling her," Andi said calmly and sighed. "Where's Scott now?"
"In the locker room with Kira," Stiles answered.
Andi nodded as she went to the locker room where Kira was standing with her father while Scott stood closer by the door. When Kira saw her, she sighed in relief as she walked up to her and grabbed her hand.
"What happened? We were running and the next thing I knew, you were gone," Kira said.
"I hid in the bathroom and it just ran right past me," Andi replied and Kira sighed and nodded.
"I thought something happened," she said.
Andi smiled as the two of them sat down on the bench. "I'm fine," she assured.
Everyone waited for Stilinski and animal control to arrive and Stiles then walked into the locker room and called Scott and Andi over. He had an idea of what Malia might've been looking for and pulled out a baby doll from his bag. While Scott was asking him why he took it, Andi was staring at the toy as it was extremely familiar and then she knew where she saw it. It was the exact same doll she saw when she looked into Malia's head.
"Is that doll from the crash site?" she asked.
"How did you know that?" Scott asked.
"I saw the accident in the coyote's—in Malia's mind and I saw that doll in it," Andi explained.
A man walked into the locker room and grabbed the doll from Stiles, asking him where he found it before tearfully revealing it belonged to his daughter. Andi frowned as she was able to feel the man's pain and grief and gripped the hem of her shirt in her fists, trying to block it out. Stilinski was able to escort Mr. Tate out of the room and Andi sighed in relief. She had gotten very good at blocking other people's thoughts and their emotions but now it was starting to get harder. Since it was getting harder to block out emotions, it was only a matter of time before the thoughts came flooding in as well. She also knew that Stiles had questions about what happened in the hallway when it looked like she was about to lose control. She wasn't entirely sure what it was either. All she knew was that things were piling up.
━━━━
Andi listened carefully as Deaton explained how whoever was shooting had to be a very good shot since he only had three tranquilisers. Scott did say Allison could do it but Andi remembered when they were in the woods trying to get her to shoot some targets and she almost shot Lydia in the face. Isaac was aware of the complication as well but also the fact that they may not even be able to find Malia since Andi drove her back into the woods. That of course, didn't sit well with Stiles.
"Again with the not helping. Seriously, what do you see in this guy?" Stiles asked while looking at Andi who stood there with her arms crossed and shrugged her shoulders.
"Why? Jealous?" she questioned with a smirk on her face and Isaac smiled.
Stiles rolled his eyes and Isaac cleaned his throat. "I think I'm just asking the question no one else wants to ask. How do we turn a coyote back into a girl when she hasn't been a girl for eight years?" he asked.
"I could do it. Remember the night Peter trapped us in the school? He was able to make me turn just by using his voice. Deucalion did the same thing at the distillery," Scott said.
"This is a werecoyote. Who knows if it will even work or if you can find someone who can teach you," Deaton said.
"So, that's why you called Derek first," Stile said in realisation.
"I could try it on my own but honestly, right now, I'm too scared to turn into just a werewolf," Scott sighed.
"We need a real Alpha," Stiles said and Scott looked at him. "You know what I mean. An Alpha who can do Alpha things. Someone who can get it going. Someone who can get it—"
"Up?" Isaac asked and Andi smiled.
"So, I'm an Alpha with performance issues," Scott said and that was the one that made Andi laugh and everyone looked at her.
"Keep staring, they were funny," she replied.
Scott and Stiles came up with a plan to talk to the Twins and get them to teach Scott how to do it. Andi and Isaac were tasked with helping Allison. When they did go to Allison's the next day, the three of them started preparing. Isaac managed to get a lock on her scent and Andi noticed Allison's hands were shaking so much she dropped the tranquiliser. She bent down to pick it up but when she stood up, there was something different in her eyes. Andi looked at her carefully but it was like Allison was taken over by something or someone else as she picked up the tranquiliser gun and aimed at Isaac. Andi was quick to move beside her and brought her fingers up to her temples, the green magic seeping into her head and her eyes turned green.
"Put the gun down, Allison," Andi instructed.
Allison's eyes were still green as she put the gun back down on the table and Andi removed her fingers from her head. Her eyes turned back to brown and she looked at Isaac who was standing farther away and then she looked at Andi.
"What happened?" she asked.
"You picked up the gun and pointed it at Isaac. I kind of mind controlled you to put it down and I'm sorry but just snapping you out of it wouldn't have been enough," Andi explained.
"Isaac, I'm sorry. I had no idea what I was doing," Allison panicked. "How am I supposed to help anyone like this?"
"Hey, it's alright. We can help," Andi said as she gently held Allison's shaking hand and took the tranquiliser from her.
"Just tell us what to do," Isaac said.
Allison sighed and nodded. She instructed Isaac and Andi on what to do to get everything ready and once they were all set, they left and headed to the preserve where they were going to find Malia in her coyote form. Everyone looked at each other until Lydia spoke up.
"Anyone else think we might be doing more harm than good?" she asked and Kendall sighed.
"We're trying to keep a father from killing his own daughter," Scott said.
"Actually, we're trying to keep a guy from killing a coyote who is actually his daughter, who we don't know how to change from a coyote back into his daughter," Isaac said and Stiles scoffed.
"Again with the not helping," he said.
Andi sighed as she grabbed Isaac's hand and he looked at her. "We'll make it work," she said and he nodded.
Everyone turned their heads when they heard a gunshot and Andi's heart started racing when there was a second. Scott got on his bike and started driving into the woods and Isaac ran after him. Andi and Allison were about to follow them but Stiles stopped them. "Wait, guys. My dad said Tate set up traps in the woods and we don't know how many. He's also out there with a rifle," he said.
"Scott and Isaac just went in there. They need help," Andi said.
"Go but please be careful," Kendall said and Andi and Allison nodded.
The two of them ran in the direction Isaac and Scott went in as fast as they could. They managed to avoid any traps Tate set up and saw Isaac much further ahead of them.
"Isaac, wait!" Andi called after him but he kept running when he heard another gunshot and followed it. "Isaac!"
The next thing she knew, she could hear him scream and the sound made her head feel like someone was hitting her skull from the inside with a hammer. She could feel the immense pain he was in and she screamed as well while holding her head. It was different from the effect the tuning fork Kali used on her and the effect Lydia's scream had on her. This was different than someone trying to stun her or being able to hear something through their psychic link. The was someone she cared for deeply and he was in a great deal of pain that no words could describe.
Once her head stopped pounding and her body stopped aching, she followed Isaac's trail and found him kneeling on the ground with his foot caught in a bear trap. His hands were covered in blood from the wound as he tried to get it off but he couldn't.
"Oh my God," Andi said as she tried to get the bear trap out of his leg but it was stuck pretty good.
"I heard you scream. I thought you got caught too," Isaac was panting through the pain and Andi shook her head.
"I felt your pain and I could hear your scream in my head. I don't know why I suddenly can't block it out but I can't and I'm starting to feel and hear everything again," Andi said as she kept trying to pull the trap open as Isaac groaned.
"There he is," Allison said.
Andi and Isaac looked up and saw Tate aiming his rifle. "Shoot him. Use the tranquiliser on him," Isaac said.
Allison's hands were shaking as she aimed but ended up shooting at a tree Tate was standing by.
"Allison! Breathe," Andi said.
Allison nodded and took a deep breath as she aimed and whispered something under her breath before firing again. This time, the dart hit Tate in the shoulder and he collapsed on the ground. Andi sighed with relief as Allison tried to aim for Malia this time but she was gone. Isaac kept trying to pull the trap open and Andi assisted him with magic. The both of them were able to get it to open a little bit but stopped when they heard a very loud roar and Isaac's eyes turned yellow and he screamed as he broke the trap and fell on the ground.
"Scott did it," he exhaled.
"Hold still," Andi said as her eyes turned green and she reduced the pain in his leg until it was more manageable.
Andi sighed as she helped him stand up and the three of them left the woods so they could go home. A lot of days were pretty stressful but this one had to be one of the most stressful. Thanks to Isaac's werewolf healing, his wounds would be gone within hours at the most but Andi would never forget that pain she could feel he was in and she never wanted to feel that again.
sorry if this felt a little rushed but i am living for the andi and isaac bonds and connections here.
