Me: How are you doing?
Elizabeth: I'm fine, thank you. And you?
Me: Pretty good.
I stare at my phone thinking of what to say. I don't know why I started the conversation.
Me: Do you wanna do the project tomorrow? I'm free all Saturday.
Elizabeth: Surzies. Is my house fine?
Her made up words almost make me laugh aloud. I smile slightly.
Me: Yeah. Okay
I don't know why I'm making this conversation so awkward. It's annoying me. My smile turns into a grimace.
Me: What time?
Elizabeth: 12:00?
Me: That's fine with me. What's your address?
Elizabeth answers. I look back at the conversation. It doesn't seem as awkward as I thought it was. I relax. I don't know why his means anything to me though. She's just a girl. A girl who has secrets for me to discover.
