Notes On Previous Chapter

My last post was so deep that we were about to find lava

I'm so shady. Ignore that^

But thank you for all who read it and commented.

Warning: MORE THOUGHT PROVOKING SHIT. Please don't hate me though.

Just a few things I wanted to clear up before proceeding further. (I would have put this as an A/N in the next rant but turns out I had much to say).

So here's what I have to say:

::

1. Shoutouts to xoyouarebeautifulxo , orojackson_796, __ProjectLove, eightyone81, UnknownStalkerMeep, PensAndCookies, pineappleberry and Willow_Rosenburg for your great comments in the last chapter.

2. I will somewhat quote DontCorrectMe's comment because I couldn't have clarified it better myself:

I never said blonde hair and blue eyes aren't beautiful. I just said that many people think that it's the only form of beauty...

Or that it just fits everyone's imagination when they think of being beautiful.

3. A lot of you said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I did see that coming, and I couldn't agree more, but what I'd say is that it still implies that we don't all find everyone beautiful, if you know what I mean.

Insomuch that we could be looking at the same person, and you may find them beautiful but I won't see it. So they aren't beautiful in MY opinion. Or if we turn the tables, i would find them beautiful but you wouldnt see it either. I hope you see my point?

Everyone is beautiful in their own way - this also implies that we don't necessarily see the beauty in LITERALLY everyone!

Basically, we as individuals can't see the beauty in every single person.

So we can't really say for a fact that everyone is beautiful:/

4. I will add the definition of beautiful:

/Pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically/

So if you still claim that everyone is beautiful, do you walk down the street and feel your senses and mind being pleased from the way every single person you see

Do you understand what I mean

Would you call the people who've destroyed their bodies from drugs like meth beautiful

They still count as 'everyone', no?

Lol I don't know about you but they don't really please my senses

5. I feel that when someone says everyone is beautiful in their own way, it also refers to who they are as a person.

Personally, I do believe that almost everyone is beautiful - in who they are as people. But not necessarily how they look!

6. Also, don't feel under attack or offended if you've a character that's white, blonde etc because there's nothing wrong with that!

Furthermore, if you look like that in person, please don't feel like I was attacking you:/

I was only talking about fictitious characters and how they reflect society's definition of...

bla bla bla you get my point.

7. So in no way was my post there to make you change your whole character list because the characters are in YOUR head and it's YOUR imagination and I can't tell you how they should be or how they should look!

So just keep doing what you do, yea?

8. List is almost done, so do not worry.

A couple of rants ago (#38), I had mentioned that I was watching a movie called All Screwed Up where I explained that "it's about a nerd girl and a popular jock who end up switching bodies."

Now, for those of you who have never watched it or heard of it, what kind of character(s) came to mind when you read that description?

After you've thought about it, look up the movie and the characters.

Not what you expected?

Me either, to be honest.

Does it prove my point?

I think so.

We've all got a pre-planted idea of how certain people look like and it's sad that you know, it's become so stereotypical

10. Plus, Disheartening_ , you had said that you "just don't know how to describe someone according to their skin colour without insulting a reader."

Here's my reply, and not only to Disheartening_, as I'd assume that she's not the only one having such a problem.

So here's what I would say:

You must treat them like any other normal character you would describe!

You mentioned that one of your characters is African-American; so if you must refer to her skin tone, you can be simple and call her "dark". There's nothing wrong with that. You haven't been racist at all, believe me.

When it gets offensive is when you constantly point out their skin colour las if it's something to be pitied over or focused upon.

Like for me as an African I hate it when someone's like "I love a black girl" to me or something, because it's like is that the only reason that you're talking to me? Why are you pointing out my skin colour?

My skin colour does NOT define who I am.

But it may not even be necessary to mention her skin tone at all. She's still a beautiful person. So like yea.

Okay so a non-serious rant coming up lol genie_us is almost out of her serious(depressing)ness

Lol please be happy guys I love you all and let us be led out of this thoughtful phase and instead have a laugh
