The ball was in two days, and everyone in the palace was doing their best to make sure that all preparations were perfect. I was currently talking with the caterer, when I heard a huge crash in the ball room.

"CAKE!" a female voice shouted.

"Excuse me, I must let me just check on that," I told the cook.

I walked into the ballroom to see that the entire piano had been split in half, and Fiona and Cake were standing right next to it with a guilty look on their faces.

"Oh my god, what did you do?" I instantly panicked.

"It-it was an accident," Fiona whined.

"I don't care, do you not understand—"

"(Y/N), what was that bang? Is everything alright?" the prince asked in a panic as he entered the ballroom.

He must have been in the middle of his fitting, judging by his half-sewn clothes. He then looked to the piano, and his face fell.

"What happened??" he questioned. "(Y/N)?"

"I-I don't know, I was in with the caterer," I tried to explain to him.

"It was my fault," Fiona said. "I'm sorry, we came to help set everything up, and I didn't know where you were. So we decided to come in here and help, but then this happened. I'm so sorry, Prince Gumball."

She bowed her head, looking as innocent as possible. I could've sworn that I saw her glance in my direction, but I had to be convincing myself that I was seeing things. After all, she was only a child. She couldn't actually hold some sort of rivalry towards me.

"No, no, no, it is quite alright, right (Y/N)? You can handle this?" the prince asked me.

I wanted to argue, but I knew I didn't have it in me. This is not the first time that I had to clean up one of this girl's messes. However, I couldn't argue. This was my job after all.

"I will get it taken care of right away, your majesty," I assured him.

"What would I do without you?" he smiled, messing up my hair as he walked past me. "Now, if you ladies excuse me, I'm a bit underdressed."

The prince then went back to his fitting, but I could have sworn I had seen Fiona shoot me a glance before he left. It didn't matter regardless. I had much to do before tomorrow.
