9- Find a weak point

I gritted my teeth in annoyance. This battle had gone in for several hours and all my Pokemon were tiering while the Scizor looked like they had just stepped into battle. The sun was setting over the horizon signalling night was on its way and while Guardian and Hope would get a boost, Trust was weaker at night, since she was a psychic type.

Silver and Red had managed to take the two kids to safety, Silver reluctantly leaving to escort the kids back to town while I stayed in the battle.

"Guardian, Night Slash. Hope Moonlight to heal and Trust Dig."

All my Pokemon nodded and jumped into battle, quickly obeying my commands.

"X-Scizor on the Absol!" The leader commanded.

As they had done the while battle their Pokémon moved together, crossing their arms over their chests while charging in on Guardian.

"Guardian get out the way of as many as possible!" Guardian didn't even have time to nod as she jumped back, using her angelic wings to steady her. She managed to dodge two of the attacks but the third landed square on her chest which had been exposed when she'd risen onto her hind legs.

Guardian was sent flying back into a tree. She fell limply to the ground, breathing hard with her eyes closed. A glow erupted from her body as her wings folded back into her body whilst her hair and claws shrunk back to their proper size.

With a growl I pulled out her Pokéball to return her before turning back to the battle. Hope was jumping out of the way of the three Scizor's X-Scissor, barely making it out of the way each time.

Trust burst from the ground and slammed into on of the Scizor before leaping back in time to dodge is claw it had swung around.

~Emma these things don't look like they're gonna loose anytime soon...~ Hope started before pausing to dodge another clawed hand. ~You got a plan?~

I gritted my teeth and looked at my remaining Pokemon. Dreamer and Petunia were tired from the earlier battle with Viola, Guardian was already fainted and Trixie was far to low a level so that leaves Rio, Faith and Melody. Wait...

I pulled the Pokemon I'd chosen's Pokéball off my belt and threw it in the air. "Rio use Flame Charge to get rid of the Scizor from Hope!"

As soon as her paws touched the battle feild my Arcanine was already charging in on the three Scizor, throwing them away. Hope was panting hard, although Moonlight could heal her she was still tiring, same with Trust was couldn't even heal herself without the sun.

"Hope and Trust, use Dig and Rioyaru use Overheat!"

Hope and Trust once more disappeared below ground while Rioyaru radiated the burning hot air from her body. All three Scizor flinched from the intense heat of Rio's attack.

"Keep it up Rio!"

Rioyaru growled and nodded, another burst of heat erupting from her body. So far this had been the only thing to work against these mega Mega Evolutions.

"Give it up girly. You won't win."

"I never back down!" I growled, squeezing my hands into fists.

The leader snickered. "Girly doesn't know when she's beat does she?"

"I have never admired defeat to anyone yet and I'm not starting now!"

"Scizor use Giga Impact!"

"Counter with Flame Charge!" I called out of instinct.

All three Scizor collided with Rioyaru head on when she boated without hesitation. Their collision created a massive explosion that sent out a wave of force sending dirt, rocks, sticks and more into the air. I raised my hands to protect my face from the everything being thrown around.

When I lowered my hands to see that Rio was still holding off the Scizor in the collision of three Giga Impact and Flame Charge.

"Rio keep that up! Hope as Trust come up and use Iron Tail!" I called.

A moment later Hope and Trust burst from the ground, their tails already turning metallic to attack. Trust slammed her tail into the back one Scizors neck while Hope hit the lower back of the other. Having been thrown off the attack the two side Scizor to the side fell to the ground leaving Rioyaru to over power the last Scizor. Hope and Trust jumped back to Rio's side. The Scizor Hope had hit jumped up and returned to its comrades side.

However the one Trust hit burst into a glow, returning to it's regular form. It stood up and looked around in confusion, shaking it's head it ran off. A small metal box, a little bigger than my thumb nail, fell to the ground as he disappeared.

The guy with the wig swore under his breath. "There goes my Pokemon."

"Guys hit behind the neck, find the little box!" I ordered, hoping that I'd found the cause of this.

My Pokemon nodded tiredly. Hope dug under the ground while Trust leapt into the air using Psychic to compress the air under her feet, a little trick I'd figured out in Pinwheel Forest last year. Basically I figured out that if Pyschic could be used to move objects I figured it could be used to move air into one spot to be able to be stood on. As long as it isn't stood on to long it works like a stair case.

Rio cause a distraction, taunting the remaining Scizor closer by snarling and nipping at them with Fire Fang.

Moments later Hope erupted from the ground, slamming her tail with all her remaining force into the back of the left Scizor's neck. It fell to the ground and with a flash of white light he returned to normal. He followed the same Scizor's moves, shaking his head before fleeing to the forest another small fell from his neck in the process.

The next moment Trust leapt back to the ground, having gained enough hight. She did a summersault, her tail once more going metallic whole she flipped over and over to gain more momentum before expertly hitting Scizor with Iron Tail in the exact right spot.

The third followed the first twos moves and was gone before you could say 'what the hell?'.

I smirked and crossed my arms. "I won." I snorted.

The leader grumbled and thee something to the ground and a puff of smoke flew up and I didn't need to look twice to figured out they'd disappeared.

I sighed and fell to my knees, panting from the effort of the battle. Rioyaru came up and nudged my shoulder. I looked up at her and smiled a little, wrapping my arms around her neck. "Good job girl."

Rio just nodded and returned herself to her Pokéball, no doubt as tired as I was from the battle. I looked to see Hope and Trust had done the same already, I didn't blame them. The was one of the toughest battles we'd ever been in, and we've been in a lot of battles.

"Emma!" Silver voice interrupted my breathing. Aww, I thought I'd have a moment of peace. "Are you okay? What happened?"

"I'm fine Snowflake. It was a tough battle that's all, I won and the grunts fled." I explained rolling my eyes while Red came to my side to help me up.

I walked over to one of the boxes were and picked it up. I examined it over. It was pretty much shattered from being attacked, same with the other two when I went to look at them. I frowned and shook my head, pocketing the gadget. I heard that the Lumious City Gym leader was good with Tec apparently. I'd ask him when we get there but for now all I want is a bed.

Ignoring Red and Silver's questions about the battle, I headed back the way I'd came to Santalune City and to a bed.

~??? pov~

"We're sorry boss but we lost out Pokemon. We ran into a trainer and she figured out how to remove the boxes."

I glared at the three grunt before me. "Those 'boxes' cost a fortune to make and not only do you loose them but your Pokémon as well."

"We're sorry madam but the girl was strong. She could Mega Evolve as well and she had a shiny Umbreon and Espeon with her."

"Shiny Umbreon? You may yet be able to redeem yourself, tell me everything you know about the girl. Our target to has a shiny Umbreon and we have currently... lost sight of her. If you have found her I may... overlook... your mistake."

"Yes ma'am."

~Emma's pov~

With a scream I bolted upright from my sleep. A choked sob burst from my throat as I pulled my knees close to my chest, shaking from the nightmare I'd just had. Sweat dripped down my fore head and my breathing came out in ragged pants, my gaze fixated on the lamp that illuminated my room from the dark. None of my Pokemon were out of their Pokéballs so I was alone in my room at the Pokemon centre. Tears flowed freely down my cheeks while I sobbed into my knees, trying to force myself to calm down.

A gentle knock on my door practically made me jump out if my skin. "Emma, are you okay?" Silver's voice came in from the other side.

"I-I'm f-ine." I lied shakily, rubbing my running nose with the back of my hand.

The door handle twisted and Silver peaked in. "You sure?"

I hesitated before shaking my head. "No." I whispered, knowing that I'd been caught out.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, stepping a little further in.

I slowly nodded, wanting to be with someone. Though Silver probably wouldn't of been my first choice, especially after the nightmare I'd just had.

Silver sat on the edge of my bed, gently stroking my back. He looked quite worried but I probably looked like a mess. I was still crying from my nightmare and couldn't stop trembling. "What's the matter?"

"Nightmare." I replied shakily, managing to stop my flow of tears.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

I gave him a small nod. "It was all dark... but then everything slowly sorta faded lighter... More of those weird Mega Evolved Pokémon from before were illuminated... but much more and Pokemon other than Scizor. They were of all different species that could Mega Evolve, Absol, Banette, Mawhile, Lucario, Gardvoir and so many more. They were all glaring at me getting ready to attack. I tried to run or scream but I couldn't move... then the group parted and a Mewtwo Mega came forward... He let out a really loud screech that was almost deafening, and everything started fading again apart from the Mewtwo... He moved to the side and... you and Red were both there... Mewtwo turned to look at me before turning to you guys and then he... he..." I burst into tears again, buried my head into my knees, breaking down in a fit of sobs.

"Hey, it's alright. I'm fine and so are you, Red is okay, I was just talking with him in the other bedroom." Silver said gently, rubbing my back with soft strokes.

"I-I couldn't d-do any-thing. I-I felt so... Useless." I struggled to get the words out.

Silver's next move took me completely by surprise. He hugged me... not like a one armed hugged. He completely wrapped his arms around me and held me close. I mean yeah me and Silver were kinda close but he never actually hugged me, I've hugged him like twice but that's it. But he hugged me.

"Emma, it's alright. I'm perfectly fine and so is Red. Nothing's going to happen to us or you, we're a team we stick together and nothing will change that." He said softly, stroking my hair.

"But--"

"It was just a bad dream Emma." Silver cut me off. "You're battle today just shook you up. It was just a bad dream caused by a bad event. Nothing more."

I gave a small nod and slowly wrapped my arms around Silver, hugging him back. "I was scared, you're the only family I have left." I whimpered quietly.

"Well I'm not going anywhere so you don't need to worry about that. I promise you."

I forced a smile. "Thanks Silv but promise me, please don't ever leave me."

Silver smiled down at me. "Of course not Emma, if I wasn't here who'd stop you from doing anything stupid?"

I closed my eyes and rested my head on his chest. "I just wanted to make sure." I whispered.

~Do-do-do-doduo!~

I sat up groggily from my bed and ran my fingers lightly though my hair. The memories of last nights nightmare sent a shiver down my spine but it didn't take me long to remember what happened after. I small smile twitched onto my lips when I remembered Silver comforting me... and hugging me.

I don't think I was even this shocked when Red kissed me. But then everyone saw that coming, I mean it was fucking obvious that was going to happen.

I sat up slowly and kicked off the blankets, flicking the lamp off and fixing my baggy shirt I'd worn to bed before heading down stairs. I never really wore pyjamas to bed, rather just comfortable clothes. I'm guessing that Silver had properly tucked me and laid me down in since I didn't remember him leaving.

Stupid nightmares.

I left my room quietly. All my Pokémon had been left over night with Nurse Joy since half of them were completely exhausted... Actually everyone but Trixie, Faith and Melody had battled yesterday and all of them were in a tough battle. I'd pick them up after Silver, Red and I were ready to leave. After yesterday, I ain't doing anything today. Red and Silver were going to the gym but I was going for some well needed and deserved R&R.

I exited my room to find Silver and Red already up. That's a surprise.

"Morning." I mumbled sitting down on the small couch in our room, hugging myself slightly.

"Morning Em." Red greeted handing me a take away cup of what looked like hot chocolate. "You slept in a while."

I shrugged. "Gotta catch up on sleep sometime I suppose." I said with a small shrug, taking a small sip of the hot beverage. "Thanks." I mumbled.

Red smiled. "Any time, what are you going to do today?" He leaned against the bench of the small kitchenette.

"Nothing." I shrugged. "Most my guys will still be tired from yesterday and frankly so am I. So I'm gonna rest today, let my Pokémon do whatever they what, within reason of course."

"That's a first for you." Silver raised an eyebrow and sat on a chair opposite me. "How you doing by the way, after last night?"

A pink tint worked its way onto my cheeks. "Fine, thanks..." I said quietly, taking another sip of the hot chocolate.

"You don't sound fine."

"Where've you been?"

"Nowhere. I've just been busy."

"Doing what?"

"You don't wanna know. Trust me."

"I'll take your word for it."

"Okay everyone, come on out." I called, throwing all my Pokemon from their Pokéballs.

They all stretched in the sun before calling out their greeting.

~So what are we going tondo today Emma?~ Hope asked, still obviously tired from yesterday.

"Nothing. Today's up to you, you guys all worked hard yesterday, so you guys deserve a break today." I smiled as all my Pokemon cheered.

Guardian and Hope practically collapsed under a tree, quickly falling asleep in the shade. Not to far away Trust did the same in a sunny spot, the sun danced on her pink coat as made her red gem sparkle. Dreamer, Trixie and Petunia all played in the shallows of a nearby lake while Rioyaru sat of the shore not to far away and watched contently. Faith soon joined them and Melody sat on the shoulder watching with me from where I was sitting near Trust and not to far away from the tree that Hope and Guardian were sleeping.

~So what happened yesterday?~ Melody asked.

"There's a new evil organisation around by the looks of it." I sighed, falling backwards into the grass and leaving Melody floating in mid air. I watched the clouds glide across the sky effortlessly being pushed by the wind. "And whatever they're doing, it's extremely wrong. I've had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach since those Pokémon came out of their Pokéballs."

~Well it could mean something then. As Voice if Purity you're the last remaining link between humans and Pokémon so if a Pokémon is in distress, naturally you can feel it.~ Melody shrugged. ~You're subconsciously feeling their aura.~

I frowned and looked over to her. "So you're saying that even though I hadn't opened up myself to those Pokémon I could still feel their distress?"

Melody nodded. ~It's more a theory at this point. As I've said, you're only the second Voice of Purity and no offence but Purity had opened herself up to every Pokémon. Unlike you where you only open up to those you trust. It may just be a bad feeling.~

"No offence taken, but I think we should get a second opinion on this. I'll ask Purity tonight, let's just hope Night can keep herself under control until I get there."

~Wouldn't get your hopes up there.~

"Yeah, probably."

I sighed and pushed myself up so I was leaning back on them while watching my Pokémon play in the water. Trixie was jumping over Rioyaru, trying to nip at the Arcanine's ears. Rio didn't seem to mind, flicking her head to the side every time Trixie jumped at her. Dreamer was curled up against Rio seemingly asleep while Petunia frolicked in the water, chasing around the water type Pokemon in the bay with Faith. Guardian, Hope and Trust were all sleeping still and honestly I wasn't that far off it but with last nights nightmare still fresh in my mind I wouldn't let myself fall asleep.

Not until I had to anyway.

Wild Pokémon played around the field enjoying the nice weather. Roselia and Budew danced around in the sun light. Hophip, Skiploom and Jumpluff swirled around in the breeze without a care in the world. Surskit raced each other across the surface of the pond while Masqurain buzzed after them. Their were to many Pokémon to count and not one looked bothered by me and my own Pokémon.

As I swerved my gaze around I caught a glance of a Pokemon watching me but when I turned back it was gone. Maybe I'm more tired than I think... Or I'm being stalked by a strange Pokémon I'm not even sure I see.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Nothing felt wrong and I could normally sense when something was.
