I am just going off what I know about Buttontale for this chapter, I know that this is not Canon for Buttontale and I am going to try and do something different, so please don't bother me with comments saying that this is not Canon for Buttontale, this is me having fun, okay?

"Dream!" Ink yelled, putting the paint mix down and rushing to his friend's side. "What's wrong? Dream?!"

"Blue... Hurt.... Fear.... Button..."

"Button, as in Buttontale?" Ink asked, with his eyelights going white.

"Buttontale?" Cross asked, frowning. "Where have I heard that name before..."

"Save him..." Dream said before he went under again, causing Ink to panic.

"Ink." Nightmare was the one to pull Ink away from Dream. "Calm down, I'm surprised that it took this long for Dream to tap into my magic, our souls may have been swapped but it seems like our magic stayed with our bodies."

"And since Dream is used to positive magic, he didn't know how to deal with negative magic." Ink frowned.

"And the ooze around my bones is saturated with negative magic, I don't think that we can expect Dream to do this again, this maybe the only clue that you'll get to help you find your missing friend."

"Cross?" Error asked, noticing that the scared oreo skeleton was lost in his thoughts, drawing attention to them. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, it's just, I have heard of that AU before." He replied. "It's normally a crossover of Underswap with Coraline, it's harmless, as long as you are careful but..."

"What is it Cross?" Chaos asked, playing with one of the strings. "Is there something about Buttontale that you know that we need to know about? "

"There are two different AUs that claim the name of Buttontale, the first one is the one that I consider to be the real Buttontale, the crossover with Coraline but the second one, that's the one that we don't want Blue to be in." Cross frowned. "Because the Swap Sans there is dead, and his brother went insane and do you know what the scariest part of that AU is? His own brother killed him by sowing black buttons over his eyesockets and he now thinks that any Sans that ends up there is his brother." Cross touched a small scar above his left eyesocket. "But they're missing something, according to him, a pair of black buttons over their eyes, like everyone else in the AU..."

It dawned on everyone just how Cross had found out about this. Nightmare was pissed. Cross was one of his boys, no one was allowed to hurt them.

"Then how did Blue end up there?" Error asked before everyone awake looked at Ink who just sighed.

"I don't create every AU here, some of them just appear out of nowhere!" He said. "And even I have some AUs that I would run away from and forbid Dream and Blue from visiting, and if I run away from an AU, what does that tell you?"

"That whatever that AU is, it scares you and if it scares you, even with your lack of emotions , then that AU is bad news and it must be avoided at all costs. You don't even create copies of it." Error muttered. "Which explains why hardly anyone else knows about it, but how did Blue end up there, if he is there..."

"It reminds me of how you found me." Chaos said. "You said that your portal's original destination had been changed because you were interrupted while you was creating it, so could it be possible that the same thing happened to Blue?"

You could hear crickets chirping in the background as everyone realised one of the reasons why Blue could have been interrupted while he was creating a portal.

"I am going to talk to Stretch about his brother complex once this mess has been cleared up." Ink muttered. "Because it's starting to get annoying and disturbing at the same time, or let Classic deal with it, because he understands when he has to scale back his brother complex when it comes to Papyrus, and it's starting to look like Blue isn't happy in his own AU."

"And speaking of Blue." Cross said. "Who's going to rescue him, once everyone's back in their original bodies? "

Ink winced. "The paint mix is not ready yet, it takes time for the magic in the paint to combine, time that we don't have to waste. We have to rescue Blue the way that we are now."

Nightmare sighed. "Boys." He said. "Stay here and keep an eye on my body, I'll go with the squid here to get Blue..."

"Cross needs to come with us." Ink interrupted Nightmare.

"No." Nightmare hissed at Ink. "He's staying here."

"He's the only one here that can tell the Buttontales apart." Ink responsed. "I haven't visited any of those AUs long enough to know which one is the crossover with that movie and which one is the one with the insane Swap Papyrus."

Nightmare glared at Ink, for a few seconds, before he huffed and looked away from him. "Cross is going with us then, as long as Chaos and Error can join us too."

"Chaos?" Ink asked, his eyelights changing. "Who's that?"

"That would be me." Chaos waved one of her hands. "I'm Chaos."

"That actually makes a lot of sense." Ink muttered before he sighed. "Okay, they can come too."

"So, when do we leave?" Error asked, before he hopped out of Cross's arms and he made his way over to Nightmare, who scooped Error up and placed him onto his left shoulder, scratching him behind one of his ears.

"Right now." Ink said, before he opened a portal, but before anyone of them could enter it, Chaos spoke up.

"How are we going to protect ourselves if we end up in an Encounter?" She asked. "Our souls were switched around but our Magic stayed with our original bodies, how are we going to protect ourselves?"

"Most Magic, at it's most basic level, is the same." Nightmare told her. "This also includes colourless Magic, I may not be able to use most of Dream's Magic but summoning Gaster Blasters and bones to attack and defend with, is the same for all AUs. It's the colour of the Magic and the advanced techniques that changes for every AU and tells you which AU that user of Magic came from and sometimes, it can be little things, like the colour of an eyelight or the way that somebody acts or the style of their clothing and even their own personal Magic attacks and weapons can help you figure that out."

"Like Dream and his bow?" Chaos asked, before she frowned. "But what exactly is our battle plan? Who's going to deal with any Monsters that we encounter, who is going to be our healer and what's the plan for rescuing Blue?"

"Night and Ink can deal with the monsters." Error told her. "Cross knows some healing magic and you and I can rescue Blue, while they keep this Stretch busy."

"Okay!" Chaos said, smiling, before they entered the portal, while Nightmare smirked at Error. "You treat her like I treat my boys." He whispered to Error. "Should I tell them that they'll be getting a sister soon?"

"Shut up!" Error hissed at Nightmare before what Nightmare said registered in his mind.
