"Kasumi was very loving in the beginning. We were officially dating until one day she exposed herself and demanded that I go to jail in her place. She's one of the most wanted criminals in Korea, known as K.S.," Jimin concluded, his voice heavy with the weight of his confession.

"You mean the one who killed Commissioner Lee?!" I stood up in shock, disbelief coursing through me.

"Yes..." he continued, his expression grim. "Nobody knows her true identity except her gang members and us. Hence, she cunningly tried to frame me as K.S. and take her place. She had been blackmailing me for a week."

"Why didn't you tell me or the police?" I asked, frustration bubbling up.

"I never thought she could be so dangerous. Besides, I didn't want to worry you all," he replied, regret etching deeper lines on his face.

"It might have saved us from this situation..." I said quietly, my heart sinking.

Jimin sighed, his tone laced with remorse. "I regret falling for Kasumi. I should have known her true identity. It's all my fault! Now I've even put you two in danger."

"Let bygones be bygones. We're just glad you're safe. And it was my responsibility to help you," I reassured him.

"But—"

"No 'but,' Hyung. You won't believe how much pain your sister has caused me since you disappeared. I would have ended up in a mental hospital if not for you," Yoongi added, trying to lighten the mood. I elbowed him playfully, and he shot me a glare while caressing the spot where I'd nudged him. "You should be thankful, you know?"

Jimin burst into laughter, and I joined in, while Yoongi remained his usual sour-faced self. For a brief moment, it felt like everything was back to normal.

"Now the question is, how do we get out of here?" Yoongi had to ruin my daydream.

"She'll leave you once I carry out her order," Jimin exhaled, his voice heavy with resignation.

My heart sank again. "Why did you say yes?"

"You know why..." he replied, and I looked down, feeling the weight of his words.

"But there's no guarantee she'll let us go even if you surrender. She could always kill us after you're jailed."

Both Jimin's and my expressions turned dark. Yoongi had a point.

"I'll ask her to let you go first," Jimin said, his determination showing through the cracks of his despair.

"No! I can't let you go to jail without any reason! Yoongi and I will come up with a plan. We will save you! That Kasumi will be the one to rot in prison!" I gritted my teeth, frustration flaring inside me.

Jimin placed his hand gently on my head, trying to soothe my anger. "Calm down, little sis. I believe in you. Now, let's sleep."

'Sleep' was a word I couldn't deny at that moment. Although the place was the most uncomfortable, being with Yoongi and my brother made my eyelids feel heavy. I hugged Jimin tightly before drifting into sleep, feeling a mixture of fear and comfort wash over me.

.............

A warm breath tickled my neck as I slowly opened my eyes. I found myself hugging Yoongi's arm, his head resting on my shoulder. He buried his face deeper into my neck, his pale complexion and slightly parted lips giving him an almost ethereal look. His breath felt warm against my skin, sending a strange flutter through my stomach. He looked so peaceful—and undeniably attractive—that I was momentarily paralyzed by his presence. Suddenly, the realization hit me.

I jolted upright. YAH, JILL! WHAT WERE YOU TRYING TO DO?! I mentally slapped myself. I was pretty sure I had been hugging Jimin before drifting off to sleep. How had I ended up clinging to Yoongi like a koala?!

I turned around and saw Jimin already awake, trying hard not to laugh. "What's so funny?" I asked, my cheeks burning red.

"You two looked cute," he replied, using his palm to hide a grin.

"I didn't mean to do it! It's all your fault! Why did you let me go of your hold in the first place?" I shot back, feeling defensive.

"Don't blame me~," he sang, a teasing lilt in his voice. Did I ever mention that Jimin was so good at singing he could turn almost any sentence into a melody?

"Why are you shouting early in the morning?" Yoongi mumbled groggily, still half-asleep.

I glared at him, surprised by the confused expression on his face. He clearly hadn't expected to get a death glare first thing in the morning. "What happened? Why are you so pissed?" He scrunched his nose in that adorably confused way.

"It's nothing!" I was too embarrassed to explain.

Jimin laughed even harder behind me, and Yoongi rolled his eyes, stretching his arms above his head. Just then, the door burst open, revealing Kasumi and her men, all wearing smug expressions.

"It's time for your confession!" she declared dramatically, as if she were announcing the start of a reality TV show. I shot a panicked look at Jimin and Yoongi.

"I should've just stayed asleep," Yoongi muttered, shaking his head in mock despair.

She behaved as if I was invisible to her, striding past me towards Jimin. "Jimin, let's go! My men are waiting. They will take you."

"Wait, first let them go safely," Jimin insisted, planting his feet firmly on the ground.

Kasumi rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, they will be freed once my work is done."

Yoongi took my hand and held it tightly, sending a rush of warmth through me. "How can we trust you?" he challenged her, his voice steady.

She turned her gaze toward him, a mocking expression on her face. "Who are you? And why are you here? Are you Y/N's boyfriend?"

For the first time, I saw Yoongi at a loss for words.

"Yeah, he is," I chimed in, glancing at him. His eyes widened as if he'd just received a shock of 440 volts, and he quickly let go of my hand, clearing his throat and stepping two paces away from me.

I blinked in confusion, then faced Kasumi defiantly. "Unlike you, he is extremely loving and caring. Do you have a problem with that?!" I raised my voice, feeling a surge of protectiveness.

"Why you... I'll take care of you once I—" she cut herself off, her anger bubbling just beneath the surface. It didn't take long for us to realize her true intentions.

"Let. Them. Leave," my brother deadpanned, his tone firm.

Kasumi laughed, but there was a cruel edge to it. "O-of course I will! First let us go."

"Now."

Her anger boiled over. "No one is going anywhere! If you don't obey me, then I will make you do it by force!"

Suddenly, footsteps echoed in the hallway, and a group of policemen marched into the room. Taehyung and Hoseok led the charge, a determined look on their faces. I couldn't explain how relieved I felt at that moment. All the officers pointed their guns at Kasumi and her thugs.

The color drained from her face. "How did you—"

Taehyung smirked at her, then turned to me. "Jill, didn't I tell you that Hoseok is the best officer in our city?"

I nodded, a smile breaking across my face.

"We placed a tracker in Mr.Park's car," Officer Hoseok added, his voice steady and commanding.

"You outsmarted us. You're really great!" Jimin beamed at his best friend, relief washing over him.

Hoseok nodded reassuringly and pointed his gun at Kasumi. "You are under arrest, K.S. We have been after you for a long time. No more chasing. Lead the rest of your life peacefully in jail, or I will have to encounter you."

"No way!" Suddenly, I felt a sharp pull from my right side as Kasumi yanked me back, her gun pressed against my forehead. "Everyone lower your guns, or else I will shoot!" Her voice was laced with desperation, but it held a menacing edge that sent shivers down my spine.

"Stop this nonsense! You're multiplying your own punishments!" Jimin shouted, his voice filled with frustration. His eyes darted between Kasumi and me, clearly torn between protecting his sister and standing up to her.

Kasumi laughed bitterly, a sound devoid of any real humor. "You think so?" She tightened her grip on me, and I winced in pain, the metal of the gun cold against my skin. Panic surged within me, and I could feel the warmth of my breath mixing with the fear that enveloped the room.

Hoseok gritted his teeth, his grip on his weapon wavering as he lowered it. Both Jimin and Taehyung stood frozen, uncertainty clouding their expressions. The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife, and I could see the flicker of doubt in their eyes.

In an instant, Kasumi was yanked away from me, freeing me from her grip. I stumbled forward, landing against something solid—it was Yoongi. His eyes were ablaze with fury, a fierce protectiveness radiating from him as he pushed Kasumi hard, sending her crashing to the floor.

" This is the first time I have hit a girl, and perhaps the last too! I have had enough of your nonsense! How dare you touch her?!"I was taken aback by the intensity of his anger. To be honest, I felt a bit scared of him now.

"Yoongi..." I trailed off, my voice barely a whisper, the weight of the moment pressing heavily on my chest.

Ignoring me, he continued, "Now, you know who I am, Noona?!" The word "Noona" made my breath hitch in my throat, and I sensed the tension in the room intensify like a tightly drawn bowstring ready to snap.

"We may share the same blood, but not the same character! Father and mother disowned you five years ago! You were supposed to be our protector; the eldest daughter of the house, but you chose this life instead. You never loved us back then, and you don't love us now. YOU'RE TOO SELFISH, NOONA! I HATE YOU! I HATE TO SEE YOUR FACE! YOU ARE ALREADY DEAD TO US."

Tears streamed down her cheeks as the weight of his words crashed over her. "Yoons... is it really you?" she whispered, her voice trembling with disbelief and longing, as if she were clinging to the fading hope that they could still be family.

"No, don't say my name. It irritates me," he scoffed, but the edge in his voice faltered, revealing the cracks in his facade. He turned his face away from her, trying to mask the pain that was clearly reflected in his eyes. It broke my heart to see him like this—caught between anger and the remnants of a brother's love for the sister he had lost long ago.

I wanted to reach out to him, to comfort him, but he avoided my gaze and walked past me, each step heavy with unspoken pain. I could feel the grief radiating from him, the hurt of a brother who had once loved and looked up to his sister, now transformed into a stranger. He had kept everything bottled up for years, acting as if he had moved on, but the truth was seeping through the cracks of his brave face.

"Yoongi," I said softly, wanting to bridge the chasm that had formed between them. But he remained silent, his heart a battlefield of conflicting emotions.

Just when I thought everything was finally over, I noticed a change in Kasumi's expression. The anger on her face morphed into something darker, and she didn't waste her energy on words this time. The upcoming events unfolded in the blink of an eye.

Kasumi pointed her gun at Yoongi's back. Unfortunately, he was completely unaware of it. My mind froze, panic gripping my chest like a vice. I couldn't let him get killed.

"YOONGI, WATCH OUT!" I screamed, my voice echoing in the tense atmosphere as I lunged forward, desperate to warn him. My heart raced, and adrenaline surged through my veins, propelling me into action.
