"FINE! I'll obey you! I'll take all the blame on myself! But for God's sake, PLEASE STOP!" Jimin's voice cracked with desperation.
The blows stopped abruptly.
I raised myself with difficulty, my back burning from the pain, my brain too fuzzy to stand upright. Every muscle screamed in agony, but none of that compared to the sight of Jimin, his eyes locked on Kasumi with a look of defeat. "Jimin... No... You can't..." I sobbed.
Kasumi smirked, seemingly satisfied with her victory. "Fine then. I'll come tomorrow to take you. Don't try to act smart. The consequences won't be good." With that, she stormed out, her men following closely behind, leaving us locked in the dimly lit room. The eerie silence was deafening, and the weight of the situation sank in.
As soon as Yoongi was freed from the men's grip, he rushed to my side. "Hey?! Are you okay?" His hands cupped my face, eyes scanning me frantically, as if searching for any more injuries. "I swear I'll kill all of them!"
I could see the moisture gathering at the corners of his eyes, his usually calm and collected demeanor shattered. I forced a nod, trying to reassure him. "I'm fine, but you're not..." My voice was weak, but I managed to lift my hand and wipe the blood from his face. Yoongi flinched slightly at my gentle touch but didn't resist.
He had been trying to clean my wounds, but I held his hand back, stopping him from rubbing too harshly. Instead, I used my own sleeve to carefully wipe away the remaining blood on his face. His body tensed at my sudden actions, but he stayed still, allowing me to tend to him.
"There you go," I smiled faintly, though the pain still throbbed in my back. "Don't act reckless. Where's the calm Yoongi I know?"
He averted his gaze, cheeks slightly flushed. Whether from embarrassment or something else, I wasn't sure, but for a brief moment, I saw the softer side of him.
Without wasting more time, we quickly untied Jimin. The moment he was free, I wrapped my arms around him, letting out all the fear and anger that had built up inside me through my sobs. His chest felt so warm, so familiar, and his arms encircled me protectively. He ran his fingers down my back, careful yet tender, and despite his gentleness, I flinched in pain.
"Does it hurt much?" Jimin's voice was barely above a whisper, laced with concern.
I shook my head, "Anio." But I knew the truth was written all over my face.
"Liar," he whispered back with a soft smile.
For a moment, everything seemed to melt away as we held onto each other. Despite everything, we were alive. That alone was enough to make us smile at each other through the tears and pain.
But our brother-sister moment was quickly interrupted by a dry cough from Yoongi, who stood a few feet away, arms crossed, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "Mind explaining how you ended up here, Hyung?" Yoongi's tone was light but held an undertone of seriousness.
I chuckled softly through my tears. "You snatched the words right out of my mouth!" I beamed at him, my heart lighter than it had been in hours. Despite the darkness around us, in that moment, being together made the world a little less terrifying.
We sat on the cold, grimy floor, our backs pressed against the rough wall as we tried to find some semblance of comfort in the foul-smelling room. I was in the middle, flanked by the two most important people in my life—Jimin and Yoongi. The exhaustion was starting to creep in, but for now, being together felt like enough to keep us grounded.
Jimin began explaining everything—how he got tangled up in this nightmare, while Yoongi and I listened intently. Occasionally, I would interrupt with a question, needing to fill in the gaps or understand some part better, but mostly, we let him speak.
Third pov
Jimin was engrossed in his work when the boss entered the office. He stood up and bowed respectfully, as was customary. However, to his surprise, the older man revealed a girl standing beside him.
She had a fair, flawless complexion and a curvy figure that instantly drew attention. Her natural brown hair framed her face perfectly, catching the light in a way that made it stand out among everyone else in the room. She easily outshone the other female employees, her bright eyes and full, plum lips adding to her allure. She had almost achieved the perfection of the Korean beauty standards. There was only one "flaw"—she was short. But to Jimin, that detail didn't matter because, honestly, he wasn't the tallest guy either.
The men in the room didn't even bother hiding their gazes. Even Taehyung, known for his unbreakable "vibe check," was momentarily caught off guard. Jimin, however, was in another world. He forgot to blink for a solid five minutes, utterly mesmerized.
"Ahem!" The boss cleared his throat, snapping everyone out of their trance. Jimin was the last to tear his gaze away from her.
"This is your new co-worker, Kasumi," the boss announced. "She'll be working in your department from now on. Treat her well."
"Nice to meet you all. I'll do my best," Kasumi said with a polite bow. Her voice was sweet, almost musical, and it resonated through the room. To Jimin, she was the embodiment of a perfect girlfriend.
After a brief pat on her back, the boss left. Kasumi made her way towards Jimin, choosing the empty desk right next to his. His heart began to race, and for a moment, he felt incredibly shy.
Everyone around them took turns introducing themselves, except for Jimin, who sat frozen in his chair, still dazed. Kasumi, noticing his hesitation, extended her hand with a warm, inviting smile. Her skin seemed to glow under the office lights. Jimin stared at her hand, then at her face, almost as if he were seeing her for the first time. His thoughts raced, but his body refused to move.
A loud sneeze interrupted his daze. Startled, Jimin turned to see Taehyung giving him a sharp kick under the table. "Don't make a fool of yourself," Taehyung whispered through gritted teeth.
Embarrassed, Jimin quickly turned back to Kasumi and grasped her hand. The moment he touched her, a jolt of electricity shot through his body, sending a shiver down his spine. "P-Park Jimin," he stammered, his cheeks flushing pink. "Nice to meet you."
Kasumi's smile grew warmer as she held his hand for a moment longer than necessary, and for Jimin, that brief connection was enough to set his heart on fire.
.......
Jimin and Kasumi quickly became close. Since their desks were right next to each other, it was only natural that they spent more time together. Jimin had fallen head over heels for her, and Kasumi seemed to reciprocate his feelings. They were only one confession away from becoming something more.
One afternoon during break, most of the employees had gone to the café, leaving only Jimin and Kasumi behind. Kasumi was trying to finish some work, and Jimin had stayed back to keep her company.
While she was writing, her pen slipped from her hand and rolled to the floor. Both of them instinctively bent down to pick it up, and their heads collided with a soft "thud."
"Ouch!" they both exclaimed, rubbing their foreheads in sync.
Jimin grinned at her, and soon both of them were laughing at the silly moment. Kasumi reached out to grab the pen from his hand, leaning over him in the process. Jimin's breath hitched as her chest hovered near his face, her presence overwhelming his senses. His throat suddenly felt dry, and his heart pounded in his chest.
Kasumi sat back up, but not before noticing Jimin's gaze fixed shamelessly on her. Their eyes met, and for a moment, she was lost in his innocent, wide-eyed stare. Without thinking, Jimin began leaning closer to her, drawn in by the magnetic pull between them. Kasumi didn't resist; in fact, she felt the same excitement building within her.
Many men had flirted with her since she'd joined the company, but her heart had been stolen by Jimin from the start. At least, that's what everyone thought...
Jimin's lips were now only inches away from hers, and Kasumi closed her eyes in anticipation. Just as their lips were about to meet, a familiar voice echoed through the room, startling them both.
"Jiminie~"
Taehyung's cheerful voice bounced off the walls as he skipped into the room, completely unaware of the scene he had interrupted.
"Shit!" Jimin cursed under his breath, pulling back abruptly.
"The break's almost over! Get your food!" Taehyung announced, oblivious to the tension in the air.
Kasumi's cheeks flushed bright red, and she quickly stood up, flustered. "I'll go first. Jimin, come soon." She practically ran out of the room, escaping the awkward moment.
Jimin rolled his eyes at Taehyung, frustrated beyond belief.
"I saw it..." Taehyung teased with a mischievous smirk.
Jimin's eyes widened in shock, but before he could respond, he kicked Taehyung's leg. "You had to ruin it, didn't you?"
Taehyung sheepishly grinned as Jimin stormed out of the room, casting one last glare over his shoulder. He had suddenly felt an odd urge to stop Jimin from kissing Kasumi. Something about the whole situation felt off.
For a split second, a wild thought crossed his mind—Wait, am I turning gay? He burst into quiet laughter at his own ridiculousness. Nah, that's not it, he assured himself, shaking his head. He still found girls far more attractive than boys. But something about Kasumi didn't sit right with him. His gut was practically screaming bad vibes.
Maybe I'm just overthinking it... he thought and shrugged it off, returning to his work. After all, what could possibly go wrong?
Well, a lot, apparently.
If only Taehyung had trusted his instincts. He wasn't wrong. Kasumi was far from the sweet, innocent girl she appeared to be. Behind that pretty face, she was scheming, and poor Jimin was the perfect target in her grand plan to ruin him.
.....................
Jimin finally decided to propose to Kasumi, and he had even bought a bouquet of red roses to make the moment special.
"Does Jill know about Kasumi?" Taehyung asked, throwing his arm around Jimin's shoulder as they strolled down the hallway.
"She's too sneaky; nothing remains hidden from her," Jimin dramatically whined, rolling his eyes.
"Lucky you... I wish I had a sister like her," Taehyung pouted, glancing enviously at Jimin.
"She's your sister too, you know."
"Can I kidnap her and keep her with me?" Taehyung joked.
"You dare not!" Jimin threatened playfully, and they both burst into laughter.
As the laughter faded, Jimin glanced around and spotted Kasumi approaching. "Kasumi is here. I'm going to the terrace. Send her up," he said, before running off, leaving a confused Taehyung behind.
Taehyung wanted to stop Jimin, but he decided not to interfere in his friend's personal life. After all, Kasumi hadn't done anything overtly suspicious—yet.
"Jimin?" Kasumi called from behind when she reached the terrace, her voice sweet and melodic.
Jimin took a deep breath and turned around. He looked incredibly handsome in his tailored suit, his hair slicked back to reveal his forehead, accentuating his sharp features. Kasumi's gaze lingered on him, her pupils dilating as she took him in.
"You look... amazing," she whispered, her cheeks flushing slightly. The sight of him, dressed so impeccably, made her heart race.
Jimin felt a rush of warmth at her words, a shy smile spreading across his face. "Thanks. I, um, wanted to talk to you about something important," he stammered, feeling a flutter of nerves in his stomach.
Kasumi stepped closer, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "What is it?"
As he stood there, the bouquet of roses hidden behind his back, Jimin felt a surge of determination. He wanted to confess his feelings and take their relationship to the next level. But in that moment, all he could focus on was how beautiful she looked and how right this felt.
(Imagine a bouquet in place of a trophy)
He approached and stood infront of her. A warm wind swept through their lovedosed bodies.
Jimin knelt down and extended his bouquet. "Kasumi... Since the day I met you, I had liked you. But now I realize I am head over heels for you. I love you Kasumi and I will keep doing so forever. Will you be my girlfriend?"
Kasumi's jaw dropped on the ground. Her eyes were overflowing in tears. She took his bouquet.
"Yes!! Yes yes yes!! I love you Park Jimin! I will be glad to be your girlfriend!"
Jimin stood up and hugged her like no tomorrow. He felt the luckiest being in the world. He finally got his love. He could see a bright future with her. He was so excited to go back and tell it to his sister. She would be so happy.
How wrong was he! Someone told, 'Don't judge a book by its cover'. Kasumi was a book with bright cover but very poor plot. She was someone which no one could even think of. Someone very dangerous. Jimin didn't know where he had dragged himself into.
Sometimes heartbreak sounds better... and Jimin was such a case because Kasumi was none other than wanted criminal K.S.
