Third Person POV
She had left him, she had left the beast of a man. The person who first friended her, pretended to love her, care for and then destroyed her soul and body. But Vivaan was on the verge of madness.
He was driving crazily towards the airport. His mind was fogged with his memories of her- when he met her at the orphanage, when he started liking her, when he realized she had killed his brother, when he betrayed her and tortured her and when she told him that she was pregnant. Knowing that she was leaving him, he did not seem to care that this was the same woman who was responsible for his brother's death. Somehow he could not stop himself from wanting her to be by his side.
He remembered her letter -
Yes, Ayush is the father of my child. I am sorry chachu, I could not bring myself to say this to you all as I feel ashamed of hidding my affair from you all. I am leaving for London and will marry Ayush there.
He was filled with hurt and rage at the same time. How could she lie about something as pure as their child.
"Thats MY child" he screamed in agony and pain.. He could only see red at this point.
It was raining heavily on the highway and the car's windows were hazy because of the water. Suddenly, he felt his eyes becoming hazy and fogged too just like the windows and he felt his cheeks wet. He was crying. He had not cried in the last decade or so.
He was a ruthless business man, a person who needed to step up when his family was crushed. He had to be strong for his mom, for his sister who were broken after his brother's death and his father's paralysis. He did not let his emotions guide him then, he chose to hide those emotions and be someone capable enough to support his family. But then he fell in love and the wall he had built around himself to protect his feelings was melting, his feelings towards Misha were melting his wall of ice around him.
She was the first person in front of whom he cried while talking about his brother's death when they were at the orphanage and when she had hugged him back, he felt complete. He felt that he could open his heart to this one person. But that melting wall of ice froze again when he found out that Misha was responsible his father's and brother's accident.
His trust in people wavered and the wall of ice around him became a wall of stone.
He was already a broken individual when he met her but he hid it well. But from his perspective Misha had betrayed him. In his eyes, she was a murderer. How could he feel something towards a murderer. The emotions he had never acted on in the past 5 years were now commanding him to take revenge for his family's destruction. His rage and feeling of betrayal clouded his judgment and morality and made him take actions against Misha in hopes of punishing her.
He was blinded by rage and hurt but that did not give him the right to abuse her the way he did. His reason for revenge can be justifed but his actions and what he did to her could not be justified.
He closed his eyes for a second feeling ashamed. Just the thought of lossing his wife and child without getting a second chance had shook him to his core. Before he could relalize, he felt a bright ray of surge through his closed eye lids and A large honking sound burst his ear drum.
He felt himself fly in air and felt like he was being thrown around when his car toppled over again and again. His mind could not register what was happening. He felt pain and soon darkness started to take over.
The last thing he saw was her face smiling before the darkness consumed him and his mouth formed words with air coming out in a low mumble "Forg..give..me..mm..my..Mis..Misha" and with blood coming out of his mouth he fell into a deep dee well of misery and pain.
"Can he hear us doctor?"
"Please wait outside Mrs. Vadhera"
"No pleaseplease , he is my son .. my only son now... please tell me..." Vivaan's mother was crying hysterically.
"Mrs. Vadhera I think he is coming out of Coma" an unknown voice spoke.
His head was thumping with pain, his throat was dry and he felt a heavy stone on his body. He felt unknown feelings and sensations arise in his body.
In the next one hour, the doctors declared that Vivaan was out of coma.
"How long has it been mom?" Vivaan asked his mother in hopes that it hadn't been that long.
"1 year" she cried again and his head tenderly.
Before Vivaan could comprehend and accept the lapse in time he heard
"Aunty how is he?"
Vivaan saw a face peek in through the hospital door...
"Kartik??" Vivaan mumbled in a shocked tone t see his childhood friend in front of him after so many years.
"Dude.." the guy named Kartik cane forward and hugged his best friend. The friends- Avi,Vivaan and Kartik- had been separated few years after college.
Vivan's mother left the two to catch up while she went to check in with her husband about Vivan's health.
In the heat of the moment, Vivaan was flooded with emotions. He knew it had been one year and this Misha wouldn't be here. She had left him. His pain and meeting his friend after so long made him confesss all his crimes and actions to Kartik.
Kartik was beyond shock. At first he was angry at Misha for being the one reason for the accident and then he was angry at his friend for choosing the wrong path to avenge his brothers death. This was not the same Vivaan Kartik knew. The Vivaan he knew was someone who stood his ground, who was caring, sensible but this Vivaan was stupid. Kartik understood how Vivaan felt angry towards Misha, she was the reason for his family's pain.
Kartik was not able to decide whether he should be happy to see his friend wake up from coma after one year or if he should beat the shit out of Vivaan for being so wrong. Luckily for Vivaan, Kartik decided to ignore the latter.
Now it had been 6 months since Vivaan woke up from his coma. His family was always by his side. Coming out of coma was not an easy job because his body might have healed but there were still motor disabilities that required physio therapy.
In the past 6 months, Vivaan asked Kartik to find Misha but Kartik always came back empty handed.
Vivaan was suffering from depression and nightmares and was drowning in his own shame. His conscious had still not forgiven him for what he did to Misha, he was a rapist in his own eyes, he detested himself. But he still wanted a chance to fix their relationship, he wanted just one chance to do the right thing for his child. The only motivation he had while recovering was that one day he will meet his child.
Vivaan felt excited when Kartik told him that he had found information about Misha But Vivaan's dreams were crushed when Kartik told Vivaan that Misha was happily married with a guy.
"Vivaan you need to move on.." Kartik emphasised when he saw his friend drown himself in a glass of whiskey. "Dude are you stupid?! You are almost recovered, just two more physio sessions and here you are drinking whiskey to worsen your health"
"What else can I do KartiK? She is happy and here I could not even get a chance to make things right." he gulped down the remaining glass of whiskey "Fuck! My child is calling some random dude - Papa.... It hurts and I need this to lower that hurt for me" Vivaan said while mentioning to the bottle of whiskey.
Kartik was not sure what to do. It had already been two years since Misha left Vivaan. He searched forMisha but could not locate her. Seeing his friend depressed in shame all the time, he had lied to his friend hoping that Vivaan too will move on just like Misha had when she left Vivaan. But Kartik's card seemed to do the opposite. Vivaan was drowning even more into Depression.
"Dude, do you want to prove Misha right? Do you want to be the person she left ? Goddammit this is why she left you and took away your child! Because you drown in your own miseries in extreme ways an do the wrong thing. First you drowned in the pain of your brother's death and hurt Misha and now you are drowning in your shame and disgust and hurting yourself. Yes I know you are hurting because you want to see your child and have a family but first you need to come of this Devdas mode and man up. You need to grow up and get better. Stop being the same Vivaan whom she left. Be the Vivaan I became friends with. Be the old Vivaan, be the real you man. This is not how you were when I left you. Your emotions and anger were the death of your relationship with Misha and now your emotions will literally be the death of you!" Kartik screamed all angry at his so called friend.
After that, something clicked in Vivaan and he focused on returning back to his true self. He wanted his child back, and yes he also wanted that woman back in his life. Even though she had killed his brother, he could not seem to trust that anymore. Something might be wrong because the Misha he fell for would never be a murderer. Even though he himself had witnesses and seen the evidence pointing against her, his heart did not want to believe any of it and his heart wanted that woman back. She made him feel things that no woman could ever make him feel.
In the next few months, Vivaan recovered completely from his coma. But one thing always bugged him. He realized he was being selfish. Yes, he loved his wife, and yes she was his wife because they had never divorced. Yes, he loved his wife but Misha was already happy with her life and had moved on.
He had hurt her beyond repair and he felt as if he would hurt her again if he entered her perfect life and break her relationship with her husband. Deep down he knew it... he just knew it!
His punishment would be that he suffer and not hurt her anymore. And if it meant, not winning her back and being away from his child then he would accept it.
She is happy and maybe my child is happy too. My child does not know me, my child only knows the parents he/she had. I shouldn't enter their perfect life and revive Misha's painful past. If I go see them, then I know I will not stop before I have them both back in my life. But as a selfless father I don't want to ruin my child's life by ruining the relation of Misha and her husband.
And at that moment Vivaan decided that the right thing would be to let Misha go. She would never leave his hear, mind and soul. But he had to let her go, if he truly loved her.
Becasue true love is always selfless. True love always gives and never takes. Vivaan had decided that his love was true and that meant, he let Misha be happy in the life she had chosen for herself and their child. The father in him was crying but the lover in him was proud that maybe he had finally done right by her by accepting her wish to stay away from him.

Hello Readers
So that was Vivaan's point and seeing what happened with him in the past three years since Misha left him.
I just want to clear a few things-
Vivaan decided to let Misha go a year ago so that was when Vaani might have around 2 and half years or so.
And since then, Vivaan has been focusing on his work. It still pains him to be separated from his child but he wanted to respect Misha's choice to leave him and be selfless in his love towards her even if it meant that he never see his child. This was his punishment.
And he only did that because he thinks that Misha has moved on and has married. So if Misha has married happily then he was sure she would have chosen someone worthy enough to love his child.
Please let me know what you think.
