I opened my eyes, squinting at the bright light. It hurt all over. When my eyes got used to the light, I shifted and sat up. When I looked around, I realized that I'm in some type of hospital room. Oh my god. I am in the Avengers tower. The pain... were my soulmates here? I looked to my right to see Pete sitting with his head on his hands.
"Pete?" I rasped. His head snapped up.
'Hey! Are you ok, C?" he got up and took my hand. I nodded, smiling at the nickname.
"Where's Tony?" I asked him, my eyebrows furrowing in concern. An emotion flashed through his eyes. So fast that I might have imagined it.
"They're waiting outside." he squeezed my hand.
"They?" Does he mean my soulmates? Who are they? Are they ALL outside?
"Your other soulmates. We figured it out when we came here and everyone was also in pain. You've been out for an hour. I didn't want to overwhelm you so I asked them to stay outside." he glanced at the door.
"I want to meet them. But one at a time. I can't handle all of them at the same time. Who are they? Are they nice people? Do you know them?" I was getting excited by the second. I cocked my head at his nervous expression.
"I know them... well... you'll see. Do you want me to get them now?"
"Yes please." I smiled nervously. He nodded and let go of my hand. I sat up and straightened myself. I must look like a mess. I hope they like me. I wonder how they look. I couldn't wait to meet them. Peter must be talking to them. Soon the door creaked open and my jaw dropped. It was STEVE ROGERS. THE Captain America. He walked in, his gorgeous blue eyes meeting mine.
"You're my soulmate?!" I squeaked. I flinched at my own reaction. 'I- I'm sorry. I just... never expected for you to be one of my soulmates!"
"Don't worry about it, darling." he smiled. His ears were slightly pink. I swooned and blushed. He smiled at me.
"Oh! I'm Claire Benton." I held out my hand to shake it but he turned it and placed a light kiss on it. I blushed causing him to chuckle.
"Come on! You're hogging her!" a woman complained from the door. We both turned to the door. There is no way. I cannot be this damn lucky. Natasha Romanoff was standing there, hands on her hips, smirk on her lips. Steve gave me a smile and walked out.
"I didn't know I was attracted to girls! But you're really hot!" I blurted. She laughed. Why did I say that out loud! Shit. I blushed and she walked over to me.
"Aww. Don't blush, возлюбленная. You're beautiful." she winked at me.
"I'm Claire Benton." I smiled. "I know who you are, Natasha Romanoff." She held my hand and nodded.
"How do you feel? We were pretty scared when we saw you." she muttered.
'I feel better now. I just felt overwhelmed and 11 of my soulmarks hurt." I shivered, remembering the pain I felt.
"Well I should get going before one of them breaks the door open." she leaned forward and kissed my cheek leaving me a blushing mess.
"B-bye." I stuttered. It can't get any better than this can it? The door creaked open again.
