Chapter 1

I woke up to the sound my alarm clock ringing in my right ear, it was Friday today which was good cause school is so frustrating with all the tests I had to do this week.

"Jacklynn, your breakfast is ready" my mom yelled. "coming" the smell of blueberry pancakes filled the air, and I was so anxious to go and eat. As I reached the bottom of the last stair, I heard my mom laughing which only meant one reason... Mark was here, I didn't really like Mark all that much but he seemed to make my mom happy. She deserves to be happy after my dad had died in the car crash about a year ago. As I walked in the kitchen with a dark green T-shirt with a black leather Jack and some jeans with holes. "Hey kiddo" Mark said in his scratchy voice "Hi Mark" I replay back in a little bit of a sassy sorta tone. I head to the counter and grab the plate with the blueberry pancakes on it and take it to the living room, when I walk in the living room I see Mark's son Sean in the living on his phone.

"Hey Jacklynn, what's up?" he said with a slight smile that could just wipe me away from everything going on from school. "Oh uh nothing much" I replied in a nervous tone. "Oh are those blueberry pancakes!?" he asked. "Yeah, you wanna share?". Oh god why did I ask that I'm so dumb. "Yeah I wanna share!" he sprung up from the couch over to me so fast it was a world record. We go and sit down on the couch watching TV while eating the delicious pancakes my mom made, when there was only one pancake left me and Sean went to grab it at the same time and accident touched hands. I pulled mine away and put it back on my side, he looks at me like I did something wrong.. Like I was supposed to keep my hand there. "Are you okay?" he asked. "Uh, yeah I'm fine" I said nervously. He smiles at me again and tells me to come close, when I got the courage to go closer he whispers "You know I like you?" he asked quietly. I turn to him and I start to turn red he laughs and asks if I feel the same, and of course I said yes. "Jacklynn, if you want to stay home and take a break from all these test you can today" my mom shouts from in the kitchen. I run to the kitchen and bend down to give my mom a hug "Thanks mom, I really need a break" after my hug I then head back to the living room where I see Sean channel surfing trying to find something interesting to watch. He looks at me with that smile that gives me chills throughout my whole body, I smile back and he jesters his hand on the couch for me to come sit next to him
