This is a special chapter, just to warm you a little.

3 weeks later

Sabine was still in a coma. Tom didn't leave her side for more then a minute. Marinette had to sleep at Alya's place, since there was no one to run the bakery or to let her in. She was very worried about her mom. The doctors never mentioned the possibility of her not waking up, but she knew it was there. Now, she wished more then ever that Tikki would come back, so she could use her lucky charm and help her mom. But alas, she couldn't put Tikki in danger either.

Adrien didn't want to leave Mariette's side. After everything was payed, even with the many objections that Tom stated about the payment, he decided to be there for them. Everyday for the past three weeks, he has been picking her up with his car ( he has a driver's license), and taking her to the hospital. He would go out and bring back take-out, or coffee to Marinette and Tom. Then, in the evening, he would take her back, or occasionally take Mr.Dupain back for a shower. He knew he must be there for them. It was like that, untill September 1st...

morning, 8 am.

Tom was sleeping by Sabine's bed, with a light snore. They were alone in the room, with Adrien and Marinette waiting in the hallway. The sun shined through the clouds, and illuminated Sabine's face. Her nose scrunched up, and she started to stir. Tom's head shot up, and he opened his eyes to see a pair of others slowly open.

"Sabine?" Tom cautiosly asked, because he had this dream many times before.

" Tom? What's wrong? Why am I here?" She was confused.

" Oh Sabine, you're back." He said with tears in his eyes. He knew this isn't a dream, because she never answered before. He hugged her, and then kissed her. After they split, she looked into his eyes, slightly confused.

"Is everything ok? What happened?" She asked. Tom looked down, clearly sad.

" You were hit by a drunk driver, which caused you to be in a coma for three weeks." A tears streamed down his face.

"But I am ok now, right? I am awake, and I do not feel in anyway different. And, where is Marinette?"

"Oh right, I will call her. Marinette! Come quickly!" Tom yelled. A pair of rushing footsteps came running towards the door, untill the door opened to reveal a worrying Marinette and tired Adrien.

" Papa, whats-" Marinette looked towards them, eyes widened, and mouth agape. That mouth was soon curved in a wide smile, and as her eyes filled with tears, she jumped forward and hugged her mom tightly, like she will dissapear if she let her go.

" MAMAN! YOU ARE AWAKE, I WAS SO WORRIED!!! Mommy, I was so worried, please don't leave like that ever again." Marinette started sobbing on her shirt.

" Mari, mommy is here now, there is nothing to worry about anymore, my petite fairy." Sabine whispered to Marinette, even though everyone in the room heard her. Adrien let a tear slide down his face. This family is everything he ever wanted. Sabine saw this, and she spread her arms for him, and said:

" Adrien, thank you for being there when I could not be. I know you don't have many people in this world who show love to you, but we do love you. Now, come here." She spread her arms wider, giving more space to him. Tom gave a look of approval, while Marinette smiled widely and nodded. He smiled and hugged them. While they were in their group hug, someone was taking pictures through the window on the door. Nathalie was sent to keep an eye out for Adrien, and when she saw them hugging, she snapped a photo. She smiled sadly and sent the photo to mr. Agreste.

In the Agreste Mansion

Gabriel was looking through the window, when a text came in. He looked it up, and saw them all hugging. There was a moment of silence, when he finally said :

" Adrien, do not dare to lose this family, because you will not find that anywhere else." He closed the curtains and went back to work.

The next day at the hospital

Sabine woke up alone. Marinette and her dad went to clean up their house, while Adrien had a photoshoot. Alya said she will come around noon to visit her, and bring her some food and flowers. Sabine looked down. She was very thin and her skin was pale, so she was worried and called the doctor. After the doctor explained everything, and Alya came by, Sabine decided she would go for a walk, but she did not know that she had a nasty suprise waiting for her.  Tom and Marinette soon came through the door, and sat down quietly.

" Mom, there is something we have to tell to you."

" Baby, whats wrong?"

" Honey, we spoke to the doctor, and because of the accident, you will not be able to walk again."

"W-what? H-how did this happen?" Sabine was petrified. She liked long walks, and cycling. She was not ready to give that up.

"The crash caused one of your vital nerves to clamp up. You are paralized from the waist down."

" N-no. Is there any way to fix this? Please, tell me there is." She started shivering.

" There is. We took care of that, but its a very long and painful treatment."

" Tom, please don't scare me like that." Sabine sighed. Marinette snickered, but Tom kept a stoic face.

" Sabine, that is not all. You need to have surgery, and you will need to learn how to walk again. Are you sure you can take it?" Tom asked with worry in his eyes. Sabine closed her eyes; and smiled:

" If you think I can pull through, I can do it for sure."

(Aaaand play the song now!)

After the operation, the struggle started. It took two weeks to recover from the surgery, and after that she was able to go home. Tom gathered enough money to build in a ramp to the bakery, and a make-shift elevator.

Do you remember when we learned how to fly? We would play, make believe we were young and had time on our side?

At times, she would remember when she would run after Marinette when she was younger.

You're stuck on the ground, got lost, can't be found..

How she misses that. The pain didn't seem to subside...

Just remember that you're still alive

But she would continue for Mari...

I'll carry you home...

Who is right here for her, together with Adrien and Tom.

No you're not alone

She wasn't alone...

Keep marching on, this is worth fighting for...

She knew why she had to try...

" I'm not sure if I can continue... Tom it hurts so much!" She cried when Marinette would go to sleep.

" Sabine, I know it hurts... But it will get better, you are a fighter, and fighters fight. So please, fight the pain for all of us." Sabine nodded in tears.

Just don't give up, stick to your guns.

Soon, she learned to stand on her own, and the wheelchair was replaced by a pair of walking sticks. She once found Adrien and Marinette sleeping on a bunch of plans for more exercises.

You are worth fighting for, you know weve all got battle scars.

And they would argue late at night, but they still kept going, for her.

Keep marching on. This is a call to the soldiers, to the fighters. the young, the innocent and righteous..

Even though it is hard, Sabine Cheng had something rare and beautiful...

We've got a little room to grow, better days are near...

Something to keep her hopes up...

Hope is so much stronger than fear.

Because there were times when she couldn't get out of bed...

So if you jump kid don't be scared to fall

...but it was here for her...

We'll be kings and queens in this dream, all for one, one for all

In times of gloom, it was here...

You can light up the dark, there's a fire in your heart...

It helped her get better, and it helped her realize something...

Burning brighter than ever before.

Life is precious, and it is precious to her, that they think she is worth living...

They keep helping, even though she can be a handful, they don't give up on her...

And after the sleepless nights, after a lot of money spent on her, a lot of tears..

They helped her walk and run again. And nobody means more to her than..
