*I'm already expecting a bit of hate XD*

Flowey breathed a sigh of relief as he was carried into the car by Asriel. The small family had just finished the errands, and were just about to pull out of a Wall-Mart parking lot. Asriel got in the back seat, next to Chara and Frisk. He had Flowey on his lap. Toriel got in the drivers seat and closed the door, started the car and drove off. Her cell phone rang after a few minutes. "Could one of you get that please?" Toriel said, not the kind of mom to be distracted by anything while driving. Chara, who was closest to where the phone was, picked it up and answered. She and the caller talked a few moments. Chara had a huge smile on her face by the time she hung up and sat the phone down. She pulled Frisk and Asriel's heads close, keeping Flowey at a distance. The two boys smiled as well. Flowey, of course, had no idea what was so great. All he knew was that the three of them had turned into smiley trash bags like Sans.

They pulled into the driveway a few minutes later. Their house was huge, and everyone, even the kids, had their own rooms. They had built the house themselves. Downstairs in the basement was Alphys's lab. That's where the three kids took Flowey. Alphys was sitting at a table, writing things on a clip board. "Hey, Alphys!" Frisk said. Alphys was startled, but only until she realized who was speaking. "Oh, H-Hey you three! I-I didn't think you'd be here so soon!" Alphys said, in her normal timid voice, "Asriel, P-please bring Flowey over". Asriel did so, while Flowey had a confused look on his face. "S-So, Flowey, remember those tests we did with you and Asriel, when we discovered that you two had one half of the s-same Soul?" Alphys asked. "Yeah, they we're so terrible I couldn't forget," Flowey growled. "W-Well, Asriel told me that you had been showing signs of loneliness, so I-I made you a f-friend!" Alphys stepped to the side to reveal an Echo Flower with a face in a pot on the table. The Echo Flower smiled. Asriel set Flowey down on the table. "Th-They seem to like to be referred to as 'Echo'" Alphys explained to Flowey, "Although they seem to be around your age, if you even have one, they were created by giving an Echo Flower an artificial Soul. Therefore, they'll need to be taught the basics of being a sentient being. Th-They can't talk either, at least, not normally. They can only echo, of course, but with training we should be able to teach them to use their own words," Alphys smiled nervously. "...Hi?" Flowey said, to which Echo responded with, of course, an echoed "...Hi?". Despite that, Echo didn't seem to be shy at all. "Echo, this is Flowey, Frisk, Chara and Asriel," Alphys said. Echo seemed happy to meet them, although they couldn't speak. 

After that, the four people that had planned this left Flowey and Echo alone for a few minutes. Flowey asked questions, to which Echo responded with either a nod for "yes" or a head shake for "no", with occasionally a shrug with their leaves if they were unsure. Eventually, Flowey asked, "Do you like me? Like, as a friend?" Echo nodded, for Alphys had explained friendly relation ships to them before the others had gotten there. Flowey felt his face heat up slightly, and he grinned. "We only just met," He said. Echo shrugged, more in an "I don't care" kind of way than an "I don't know" kind of way. Alphys came back at this time, and picked up both flowers. She introduced Echo to everyone, and they seemed to trust them completely. 

That night, Flowey sat on the dresser in Asriel's room. Asriel was just about to go to sleep. "Hey, Flowey," He asked. "What?" Flowey replied. Asriel smirked, and asked, "How do you like Echo?". Flowey's face turned bright pink. "Wh-Why are you even asking me this?! We only just met!!" Flowey said quickly. Asriel laughed, "I know, but you seemed to be very fond of him," Asriel pulled the covers up. "I knew that having a Soul would help you. Good night, Flowey!". "Sh-Shut up!" Flowey growled. Asriel, however, had fallen fast asleep. Flowey sighed, his blush dying away. Eventually he hid his face within his petals, and fell asleep himself.
