The OriginsMCRP fandom is the second worst fandom I have ever had the displeasure of being fooled into believing there's potential. While not everyone was bad there were a lot of bad memories.

While the hate messages have decreased, I'm still dreading the next time someone decides to twist my words to fit their narrative of how I'm queerphobic or whatever with their only reason for doing so being I hated how the romances were handled.

I was given a legitimate fear of being LGBT because of this fandom and while some blame is on another fandom doesn't excuse this one for its part in making me and likely several others fear being LGBT leading into no true friends only people who see you as entertainment or forced to be around you. The point beng it took at least half a year to get over that. Mind you I only got over it thanks to talking with people who were either unrelated to the Fandom and had a strong bias against the content so yeah.

I would have mentioned the fact that I was questioning my pronouns and sexuality and what I believe my sexuality is except I don't want people to have ammunition especially since only attractive people can have sexualities that aren't heterosexual or asexual apparently according to several people within this fandom.

Honestly the fact that only attractive characters in thumbnails end up in queer romance reminds me of another fandom where the showrunners made a gay pilot then decided he wasn't good enough to be gay or something. I'm honestly unsure the fact that only characters drawn above attractive and are paired up based on color is better or worse then the pilot example.

Honestly I've got at least seventy messages telling me how I'm wrong or how I'm a terrible person within a period of five months. That isn't as bad as some other victims as some Discord Moderators have a habit of emotionally manipulating some of their followers into harassing people who disagree with them. Examples include the part where I'm accused of being rude and whitewashing while they allow other people to get away for actually whitewashing the characters in art, the multitude of times people got harassed over having an opinion that is considered wrong despite the lack of any hate, oh and the inability to consider that they have flaws.

And yes I know some points in this entire thing are invalid now that Origins is over but as the above was written before it ended so I've decided to add to some issues I had while acknowledge it is over with things I considered good about the story telling because believe it or not I did find some things I liked about the storytelling, not just the bad, though there will also be examples of the bad done because they do exist and I'm not ignoring the bad.

Good 1: My Hero Origins Levi and Rikku

Instead of simply knowing they were gay in Levi's case or trans in Rikku's case, the characters had to struggle with that fact caused by both internal and external feelings. It was more inspiring when they suceeded to accept themselves while being excpeted by others compared to simply having physically strong characters just know they were gay from the moment they were born. Though, I do wish Rikku's arc lasted longer with her realisation of being trans it was still satisfactory and I still enjoyed it. 

Bad 1: The Groomer Logic

Apparently there's a running belief in the fandom that you can't groom adults, you absolutely can. The process uses more subtle manipulation but it is possible. There are many examples out there of young adults being groomed in real life. Why else do you think I argued against Kay x Mario within Origins of Olympus?

Good 2: The entirety of Fallout Origins

Honestly the characters had better arcs then in most entire other series. In addition the ending, while it was not a happy ending, was still narratively exceptional showcasing that the characters, instead of helping each other took way to long to unite. If they simply made different choices and united just a bit earlier then what happened would have been prevented. Way better then having good characters be good for the sake of it and bad characters be bad for the sake of evil.

Bad 2: Excusing or Ignoring problematic content instead of Addressing it

A problem within a story doesn't become a problem until it is ignored. Why do you think I have so many issues with Origins of Olympus? They ignored the age gap between several romances instead of addressing it. If they addressed the age gap it wouldn't have been an issue with me. I'd still be creeped out however I would also have been okay if the characters stayed together, even despite the large age gap if it was addressed.

Bad 3: The Spreading of Misinformation as Fact

I could name several such as the entirety of Origins of Olympus and the use of NonBinary slurs as the actual terms in My Hero Origins but it mainly boils down too the honestly horriblely monsterous belief that one person can represent an entire community. Does one Asexual Aromantic person represent all Aromantic people? The answer according to common sense and logic is no. Honestly all the mental gymnastics that were required to be a of this Fandom were a huge part of why I associated the word Representation with con artists. No seriously because of my experience in this Fandom I cannot disassociate the word representation with being scammed. Reminder that other people had it worse then me and I was literally gaslit into believing I was alone.
