Chapter 5- A Dream

"Errrr."

"Y/N?"

"Yeah F-Flowey?"

"Did you go in the basement?"

"Maybe?"

Flowey was on your bedside table in his ceramic pot. He had his leafs crossed. You couldn't make out his facial expression because it was too dark in the room.

Flowey takes a deep breath.

"So there's jackets in the basement?" Flowey says. He doesn't seem angry, just genuinely confused.

"Erm no."

"Then what's down there?"

"It's literally another world."

You tell Flowey that there was a lot of walking and that there's a door which opens to the outside of the ruins.

You explain every detail; from the punctured ball, to getting hit with a rock, to eating noodles, to having a not so pleasant goodbye.

"Wait, so the skeleton hit your head with a rock. Man, he has no class." Flowey says.

"I don't think I really like this Sans dude. He's kinda scary."

"So then why are you smelling his jacket?"

You had the jacket close to your face, you could smell burnt wood and vanilla. How intoxicating.

"What? It smells nice." You snap back. Flowey lifts his arms up in defeat.

The smell reminded you of something but you couldn't quite place your finger on it.

"Where's your backpack then?" Flowey says cutting your thoughts.

This alarms you, causing you to sit up.

"Don't tell me I left it there." You mutter to yourself.

"I mean, you can use it as an excuse to go back." Flowey says casually.

"So your not angry? At anything that has just happened?" You were confused at the fact that he was so calm about all of this.

"You had to find out sooner or later, plus I haven't been quite honest with you either..."

"What?"

Flowey takes a deep breath, then talks.
"I've been outside the Ruins before. Before I came here I stayed in the Capital with King ASGORE. After about 10 years, he asked me to go and look after Toriel in the Ruins."

"Who's he to Toriel?"

"Ex husband?" Flowey says squinting his eyes as if you were about to hit him.

"Flowey, you said that ASGORE wasn't important." You huff while crossing your arms.

"I know, I know. Im sorry I lied. I wasn't allowed to tell anyone. But I had no idea what was in the basement. I wasn't allowed outside the capital."

"I forgive you Flowey."

You hear a sigh of relief come from Flowey.

"Hey it's 3am, you better get to bed." Floweys tells you while yawning.

"Okay."

After 10 minutes, Flowey is fast asleep.

You on the other hand, are wide awake.

Your head was pounding with thoughts. The fact that your head was hurt wasn't helping either.

You were still clinging onto Sans jacket.

You couldn't stop thinking about the basement. You could go back, potentially die, and get your stuff back or stay here and act like it never happened.

What happened with Toriel and Asgore? Who's Frisk? Why did Sans hit you in the first place?

You sigh in frustration and flip your body so that your stomach is facing the bed. You place your face in the pillow hoping that you won't have to wake up again.
--------------------------------------------------

You found yourself at the door in the basement again. There was a knock.

Scared you didn't say anything.

"Hello? I can see feet from under the door, you can't hide."

It sounded like a guy. His voice was really smooth. You could listen to this guy speak for hours.

You make an effort to say something,
"Erm Hi?"

"Wow, there's someone in there..." The person in the other side of the door says this to themselves more than you.

"Hah, yeah. I'm a someone." You say jokingly.

"Hey, that's cool. I'm a someone too."

You can feel yourself blushing.

"So who are you? Not to be rude or anything..."

"I don't think I would be allowed to say. I'm not actually supposed to be here." You say leaning against the door while rubbing your arms.

"That's alright. I think you wouldn't want to talk to me if you knew who I was."

"Oh really?" You say intrigued.

"Heh. Your a curious one, aren't you?"

You giggle.

"Yeah I guess you can say that." You say, sliding down the door so that you can sit down.

"Can you at least tell me your name? I'll tell you mine."

"The names Y/N."

"That's a nice name."

You feel your cheeks redden.

"M y N a m e I s

"Get uppppppppppp Y/N!" Flowey whines while tugging at your foot with his leafs.

"Floweyyyy, you interrupted my dream." Your words come out muffled as your face is in the pillow.

"Well sorry Princess, but you need to get the hell out of bed and eat your breakfast.

You slowly sit up. The jacket is still in your hand.

"But it's 11 am." You whine, not wanting to get up.

"Your fault for taking trips down the basement." He answers back sassily.

You get up and walk to your sock drawer.
"Hmmm." You say while putting on a pair of R/C fluffy socks, not really paying attention to Flowey.

You were still feeling guilty for going down the basement, but it was kinda worth it. It wasn't anything like you had expected.

"Your gonna tell mum that you went down the basement, right?"

"I-I dunno..." You weren't sure how Toriel would react. "I will eventually."

"Well that's better than never." Flowey says. He's making his way out of the room. "Hurry up yeah?"

"Yeah, yeah." You say. The door closes and then you make an effort to get dressed.

You put on some white jeans and a F/C tank top. Just something causal, you weren't doing much today.

You brush your H/C hair and put it in a Ponytail/Plait/Bun.

After you quickly make your bed, you place the leather jacket underneath your pillow. No one will find it here, right?

You open the door and make your way to the living room. You find Flowey already sitting at the table eating cereal.

"Enjoying breakfast?" You ask.

"Yup!"

You look to where mum normally sits. She's not there.

"Hey, where's mum?"

"She went out to buy stuff, she said she needed flour or something."

"Okay." You say while you pour milk into the bowl of cereal. Maybe she was trying to avoid you...

"So Flowey..." You start. Flowey raises an eyebrow to show he's listening.
"I had a dream last night. It was almost like revisiting a memory, but It's never happened in real life..."

You explain the dream you had to Flowey.

"It's just a dream, it can't mean much."

"Flowey, do you even dream at night?"

"Of course! Although I'd rather not say what I dream of."

You shrug your shoulders knowing that he's only joking.

There's a comfortable silence until Flowey decides to break it.

"So you going back tonight?"
