Chapter 12- Vunrable Eyes
You didn't return to Snowdin at ungodly hours.
You waited.
The morning of your leave came round soon enough.
You just lay in bed. Still waiting.
You felt slightly scared, not because your race was being hunted down, but there was a thought that kept going through your head.
What if you do talk to Sans?
When he said 'I don't know what you saw about me' was all that stuff real?
Had he once loved you? But then something with Frisk had happened making you do some sort of reset and when that happened Sans magic became a part of you.
That's why you have the same magic.
You had been thinking long and hard and this was your final solution.
The pieces that you had so far fitted, but there were still some things missing from the big jigsaw.
And you were going to find out.
How?
That was part of the problem.
Sans seemed to know more than he was letting on, and you wanted to find out.
That brings you back to the first question.
What if you do talk to Sans?
You sigh before making an effort to get up and get dressed.
The night before you were supposed to pack your bag, but due to procrastination that wasn't happening.
You roam around your room before realising that your bag was still in Snowdin.
You mentally slap yourself. That's the second time you've left it there.
Good thing everything you needed was in there.
Once last look in the mirror and you were out and making your way down the basement.
Toriel said she would be waiting at the basement door.
The familiar sound of Floweys hopping became audible.
"Hey Flowey." You say sadly.
"Hey, don't be glum! I'm still visiting remember?" He says making an effort to cheer you up.
You smile feeling slightly better.
Both of you keep walking until you reach the door with Toriel standing in front of it.
She looks depressed almost. The way you used to look back on the surface.
"Hello my Child." She says. Her voice is slightly strained.
You run up to her and give her a warm hug.
She's tense at first, but then her body eases as she hugs you back.
"I'll be okay Mum." You reassure her.
She smiles knowing that your old enough to go out and live.
"I know you will, however just know that once you leave you can't come back." Her expression turns sad as she looks to the floor.
"As I said, I'll be okay." You say once again. It brings a smile to her face.
She hugs you harder before saying into your hair, "Be careful out there."
You pull away and smile. "Will do Mum."
"-Er Y/N?" Flowey says trying to get your attention. You crouch down so you can be at the same height as him.
"Hey buddy, I'll see you around." You say before patting his head.
He seems happier as he smiles.
"Yeah, see you around." He says to himself more than you.
You stand up and walk to the purple door. You stare at it for a second, focusing on the fine splinters that were
scattered on the door.
You turn your head to say goodbye one last time before unlocking the door to your freedom.
Kinda.
You were still going to be stuck down here- and if you wanted to get to the surface, that would be kinda hard with all that soul crap.
What if you stay down here until you die?
Ouch.
Your skin sure must be lacking minerals and shit.
These things ponder around in your mind as you walk down the long corridor one last time.
You begin to unlock the door and open it.
It opens with quite a force as something falls in.
It's Frisk.
He falls on his butt.
"Ahh man, what the hell?" Frisk mutters to himself while rubbing the back of his head.
"Frisk? What are you doing here? Not like being rude! I'm just confused." You say fumbling around with your words.
His faces goes completely red.
"I erm ha. Sans said that, erm. Flower guy said to Sans that you were coming today. And then Sans. Told. Me. So I came and waited for you. Hah. Yeah." He's still sitting on the floor, not making an effort to move. You found it cute.
"Haha, that was nice of you. Here let me help." You extend an arm to Frisk. He looks to the floor flustered before looking at you and taking your hand.
"T-thanks."
"It's okay."
You both start to walk.
"So erm, you can like crash at my place and stuff until you get a place of your own." Frisk says as he scratches the back of his neck. His checks are still tinted red.
Without thinking about consequences you blurt out a yes.
Okay that was kinda rude
"I-I mean like yeah, please."
Frisk just chuckles. He seems more comfortable.
"So what was the surface like before you came down?" He asks carefully as he puts his hands in his pockets.
You can tell he doesn't want to offend you in anyway, but you can't help but feel ashamed of your past.
So you lie.
"It's great up there." You say plastering on a fake smile.
Frisk just stares into your eyes before turning his head back to look at the road ahead.
He's silent for a second, he seems to be thinking. He ends up simply saying,
"I know your lying."
"Wha-"
"That look in your eyes. The sad eye look. Your not proud of things that you have done, so you hide it, run away from it. You can hide behind a mask, but even they can't cover the whole of your face. Your eyes stay venerable."
Your dumbfounded.
He did have a point.
"Your right."
"I am?" He says as he raises an eyebrow. He stays focused on the road though, as if he doesn't want to look at you.
"Yeah."
The rest of the way there is a comfortable silence. You liked Frisk.
He was the only one who you could relate to really.
When you both reach Snowdin, you realise that it looks different in daylight.
Wait it's daylight?
What the hell is up with this place...?
"So I've gotta go get some groceries and stuff so I'll see you in a few minutes. You can head over to my place so you don't get cold." Frisk says cutting your off your thoughts. His hand gestures to the direction the house is in.
The politely nod and say, "Will do. Thanks again by the way."
"Anything for a pretty girl like you." He says with a wink before turning around and heading towards a shop.
Before you can answer, your left alone in the snow confused and flustered.
A/N: Cough love triangle what no phhhhhtttttt.
Hah.

It's cool.
