Chapter 9

Silver's POV

I stormed through the hallway of the hotel, rushing to get to Gold's room, so that I could tell him what happened and get his help. Once I got there, I quickly got the key out of my pocket and opened the door...to Gold making out with Crys.

"Hey! Couldn't you have knocked first?!" Gold yelled, still holding Crystal close.

"Oh, I'm sorry." I remained where I was standing and knocked on the door. "Happy?"

The trainer puffed his cheeks, replying with a "No".

I sighed. "Whatever, I don't feel like sitting here and arguing, so I'm just gonna say, Umber went missing."

Gold practically pushed Crystal off the edge of the bed as he stood up. "What do you mean Umber went missing?!"

"What do you think I mean?! She was taken away and I don't know where she went!"

"We just found her and she's gone again?? We have to find her!"

"No shit."

"Let's go to the police!" Gold suggested, already making his way out the door. I grabbed the hood of his jacket and pulled him back.

"Yes, let's go to the police to get them to look for a criminal that the International Police have been searching for for two years. Brilliant idea." I said sarcastically.

"Shut up." He said. "So what do we do now then?"

"Where was she taken?"

"How the hell should I know? Whoever took her just vanished...literally."

"You mean we're dealing with people who can just vanish out of thin air." I nodded. "That is...so cool! I wish I could do that! I mean, come on, who wou--" I elbowed him in the stomach before he could continue.

"Don't get distracted, this is serious!" I yelled at him.

"Right, right. Sorry. So, where do we start?" The breeder said, clapping his hands together.

"I actually don't know..."

"How are we suppose to start a rescue mission if we don't even have clues as to where she went?"

"I'll work on it...just don't bug me unless if it involves finding Umber." I said, turning and slamming the door behind me.

"Silver, it's been days...give it a break." Gold said, following behind me as I moved through the crowd of Castelia, hoping for some sort of clue.

"Give it a break? You really expect me to give it a break??" I growled, checking everywhere.

"She'll be ok!"

"You have no idea what could be happening to her right now! She could be hurt!"

"Silv, calm down. She's strong, remember? She can handle it." Gold put a hand on my shoulder, making me stop. "Your over-protective side is showing."

I shook his hand off my shoulder with a quiet "Tch" and continued moving.

"Silver, I mean it, go get some sleep or something! I can go look, just go back to the hotel and rest for a  few days..."

I didn't want to keep arguing, since that would only waste time. I just mumbled "Whatever" and released my Honchkrow, riding back to the hotel.

I didn't even bother to change clothes when I got back. I just fell back onto the bed, taking my glasses off and closing my eyes. It was hard to fall asleep with so much going on in my head. Arceus, I don't even remember the last time I was this worried. Frustrated, I buried my face in my hands, wanting to scream. But I won't. I've gotta keep it together. I sighed, trying to fall asleep...

Umber's POV

I groaned, not wanting to get out of bed. Yes, it was a little later than the usual time I got up (I think it's like 11 now) but today I get a break for some unknown reason. So no training, like what I've been doing for the past week...maybe two weeks? Arceus, gaining trust is a lot harder than it seems, and takes way too much time. I would have continued laying there, but there was a knock at the door.

"This better be good if I have to get up..." I sighed, walking to the door, opening it. And there was a smiling Shadow Triad member. Guess who.

"I apologize, were you sleeping?" Shinimi asked, his smile gone.

"No, no. I was already awake, just not up."

"I see. Well, Ghetsis wishes to see you now..." He looked me up and down. "But you can change first if you would like."

"Nah, I wanted to go in pajamas."

He laughed a little. "Sure ya do. Now get ready so I can show you where he is."

"Fine, fine." I said, shutting the door in his face.

"I don't get to see?" I could just picture him with a pouty face behind the door.

"Not even in your dreams." I went over to the closet, looking through what I could wear for today. I'll just go with black pants, boots, and a white tank top with a blue jacket. Everything in this closet is black and white, with a few exceptions, I swear. Anyways, I brushed my hair and teeth quickly, and opened the door and Shinimi was still standing there.

"You look nice." He said, looking at what I was wearing.

"Thanks...now, let's go see what the old man wants."

"Then hold on!" He smirked, grabbing me around the waist, and teleporting to our destination (I hate it when he does that, and he knows it). I let out a small squeak in surprise, which then caused me to blush in embarrassment.

"We're here." He let go of my waist before vanishing once again.

I straightened my shirt out, and faced Ghetsis. "You wanted to see me?"

"Yes, I think you've been training enough, so I believe I can give you an actual task now." He said. "We're going to dock at Driftveil, at the tournament. Since there are competitions taking place, many people will be there, and plenty of Pokemon. You and the grunts will go in and take as much as time allows."

"But strong trainers will be there and will fight." I said.

"I'm well aware of that. That's why we have you," he opened a drawer on his desk, and put six Pokeballs on the table. "These are your Pokemon, and I swear no harm has come to them." I took my Pokemon, and attached them on my belt. "But of course I can't let you out unguarded. The Shadow Triad will keep a close eye on you, and make sure you don't pull any tricks."

I nodded. Of course he doesn't completely trust me. Ah, well, I'll find a way to get outta here. "So when is this 'task' going to be done?" I asked.

"Tomorrow. Rest up today and prepare. That's all I ask of you today."

I nodded once again, before leaving on one of the teleportation devices on the ground.

I was taken somewhere I wasn't familiar with. Don't tell me I already fucked up and got lost; this is the last place I need to get lost. And why is it so cold?

I continued walking forward though, looking like I actually knew where I was going. It seemed to look like some sort of platform, and I could hear the sound of machines at work. I walked to the center of the platform, gasping at the contraption in front of me. It seemed to be a Pokemon, made almost purely of ice, trapped in a glass container.

"I suppose I'm gonna stay longer than I had hoped..."
