Chapter 7
Silver's POV
"Silvy...take me out somewhere." Lyra whined, lying across my stomach. She dragged me back to the hotel, and since we had nothing to do, she started begging me to take her somewhere. I was laying down, a pillow on my face. I was hoping it would help get rid of the sounds of her crying, but sadly, it didn't.
"No." I mumbled once more into the pillow.
"Take me somewhere!"
"Go somewhere yourself!"
"Why have you been acting like this so suddenly?" She asked, getting off me. "Ever since we got here, you've been acting like you want nothing to do with me! What has gotten into you?" We sat there in silence until a slight gasp was emitted from her. "It's Umber, isn't it?? You still have feelings for her!"
I took the pillow away from my face, and looked at her pained expression, tears freely flowing. I rolled my eyes, sitting up. "Don't say that, of course I still love you."
"Then take me out somewhere!" She stomped her foot.
I sighed, getting up and walking out, knowing that she would follow. Stepping out of the hotel, I pulled out Honchkrow's Pokeball, releasing him and climbing on, with Lyra behind me. I decided to go to Castelia, since its a huge city and there's gotta be something there for us to do. Maybe I'll lose her in the crowd and I'd be free to go. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan.
"Oh! Look at that Silvy! Let's go over there!" She said, pointing over to an ice cream stand. I landed Honchkrow nearby, and far enough to not land on anyone. Wordlessly, we walked over, and got her the stupid ice cream cone.
"Aren't you gonna have one?" She asked inbetween licks.
"No." I mumbled.
"Why not?"
"I don't want one."
"You wanted to share some of mine?"
"I never said that."
"Here!" She shouted, shoving the ice cream in my face. "Have some!"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Come on."
"No means no, Lyra."
"Pleeeeease?!" She started to pout, and sniffle as if she was gonna start crying.
"Don't you dare start crying."
"But you won't have any ice cream."
I growled, finally giving in. "Fine, whatever." I mumbled, taking a small lick.
"You gotta have more than that..." She said holding the ice cream closer to my face. So close, that she got some on my nose. Noticing that she got some of the dessert on my nose, she giggled and took the ice cream away (finally). "Lemme get that for you!" Lyra got on her toes, licking the end of my nose where the ice cream was. Taking a few steps back, I wiped my nose with my sleeve.
"Silvy! Let's go over there! There's a ship over there and I wanna see what it is!" She grabbed my arm, running over to the piers. I rolled my eyes, and just went along with it.
When we got there, people were lining up on the port to get on. "Can we go on? Please?" Lyra begged (again).
"Fine, whatev--" I started to say, but stopped. Over on the pier next to this one, sitting on a bench, was Umber, with some green haired guy. They both sat next to each other, eating ice cream together, and she looked happy. She was actually smiling...
Lyra kept talking, but I completely ignored her. Umber was smiling and laughing with this guy, when she even told me she hasn't moved on. Her face drops suddenly, as if she was in shock, but goes back to a small smile. The boy hugged her quickly, smiling brightly as well. And that pissed me off enough, but of course, it had to get worse.
He kissed her.
I stared, mouth probably hanging open, and my hands balled into fists. I didn't realize I was crying until I blinked, feeling the tears fall down my cheeks. I thought I could still have a chance with her, but all of that's gone now. I wanted to run over and take her from him, but...I just couldn't. I sighed, trying to calm myself. Maybe he'd be better for her...maybe she'd be much, much happier with a guy like him.
I was about to turn to leave, but I saw them break apart, Umber highly alert of something. She was looking in my direction, and I quickly moved to blend in with the nearby crowd. But her eyes didn't follow; they were fixed on the man nearby with a brown coat. I didn't understand why that would worry her so much until it was too late.
He pulled out a walkie talkie, speaking into it. From where I was I could hear it clearly; "Surround them now, don't let them escape." He and a few other men quickly moved over, pulling out guns and pointing them at Umber and the green haired guy. I was going to follow and stop them, but Lyra grabbed my arm, holding me back.
"Silver, please, don't interfere. They're wanted criminals...let the police do their job." She said.
"She's innocent! She doesn't deserve this!" I yelled, trying to get out of her grip.
"They've been tracking her down for two years; it was going to happen eventually!"
"I don't give a damn! She was tricked and used! She's innocent, Lyra, let go!"
After my struggling and screaming, she turned me around to face me, and quickly slapped me across the face. I couldn't register it in my head first, but it came clearly after feeling the stinging pain in my left cheek.
"What the hell was that for?" I growled.
"You clearly needed it." She replied. "Come on Silvy, forget about her. I'm your girlfriend!"
I glanced over, noticing the police taking them away in handcuffs. I couldn't let her go...not now. I started backing up, away from Lyra, now fully prepared for her to stop me.
She had tears in her eyes, and between words she would stutter and hiccup. "A-Are you going to leave me, Silver?"
I remained silent and avoided looking her in the eyes.
"Silver, answer me!"
I still kept my mouth shut, except I looked over my shoulder, looking at Umber being forced away.
"Silver, if you go ch-chase after her...I-I'll...I'll..."
"You'll what?" I said, looking down at her emotionlessly.
"I'll break up with you!"
"...Then I guess we're over."
And then I ran off, leaving my ex alone to cry.
~~~
I followed the police force with Umber and what's-his-face, and snuck into their headquarters. I hid in the air vents, silently waiting around the cell area to wait for the police officers to leave. I watched from the vents, them throwing her in, and locking her up. The other guy wasn't with them, so I suppose he was locked up somewhere else or is being questioned.
Just as I was prepared to jump out of the vents, three identical figures appeared out of nowhere, in Umber's cell. I remained where I was, watching to see where this was going.
"Come with us." One of them said.
"Where are you gonna take me?" Umber asked.
"To our leader."
"Your leader being...?"
"Would you like to get out of here?" Another said, completely ignoring Umber's question.
"Well yea, but--"
"Then come with us."
"No, Umber don't!" I yelled, but it was too late. The four of them disappeared to who-knows-where. What do I do now? Confront the police or track down those other guys that took Umber? Sighing, I started going back to where I entered the air vents, to get out and look for them. If I tell the police then they'll just look for her and lock her up again. I just gotta find her before the police finds her, or if I'm lucky, before they notice she's missing.
Problem is; where do I start?
