Chapter 2
After hearing about the DexHolder's, I felt pretty shaken up. Silver's gonna be here, most likely going to see me, and do Arceus-knows-what. He could beat the shit out of me, scream at me, maybe even turn me in. I managed to get him off my mind for a little bit, but only during my last two battles. And, shocker, I was actually able to win. I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible, before they got there...if they were even going to be here today.
After they announced my win, I ran out to the main lobby. They receptionists gave me my other three Pokemon back, and my prize money. I quickly thanked them, running out and looking for N.
"N? N!? Where are you?" I yelled, pushing through the crowd. I put my hood down, to look around better and hope that he'd see me. Someone grabbed my arm, and turned me around. "N, don't do that, you nearly gave me a heart attack."
The green haired boy chuckled. "Sorry, what's wrong?" He asked, noticing my paranoia.
"We gotta go..." I said, grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the crowd.
"What's wrong? You don't wanna stay and look around a bit? You did say you wanted to get out a bit..."
"Well now I wanna go back, so we're going back!" I yelled, grabbing Dragonite's Pokeball when we got out of the crowd. As I was about to release the dragon, N grabbed the Pokeball from me.
"Can't we at least go out and get some lunch together? Its been a while since we've done that."
"But they-"
"No one's going to find you or turn you in. Or either one of us really, so calm down. What happened that made you so jittery?"
He wouldn't understand. I never told him about the Dexholders, or Silver. Just that I used to be apart of Team Rocket and that I changed my ways.
"Its nothing...just do whatever..." I mumbled. He smiled, and released Dragonite. He climbed on, and helped me up. Dragonite took off, and flew south east.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Castelia City." He replied. "I know a little place where we can eat."
I sat there, impatiently waiting. I wanted to get back to the castle as soon as possible, but obviously that wasn't gonna happen. Besides, aren't there ports in Castelia? What if they took a boat and they're getting off now? I sighed, trying to calm myself. Worrying about it won't help at all. I just need to relax and go with the flow.
We landed on one of the ports, and N returned Dragonite to his Pokeball. I took Dragonite from him and hooked the ball onto my belt. N started walking into the main part of the city, and I followed close behind. We walked into a small alley, and there was a small shop there. N held the door open for me, and I walked in. I took a seat at the counter, with N taking a seat next to me.
"It's a nice place, right?" He asked.
"Oh, yeah, sure." I said, looking down at my lap.
"Ok, something's wrong, what is it?"
"I said it's nothing."
"Come on, tell me."
"I said it's nothing! Leave me alone, Arceus!" I yelled.
"Seriously, Umber, it's been a while since you've bursted out like that. Something is wrong..."
I sat there silently. N sighed, ordering us lemonade and some sandwiches. I leaned over the counter, resting my cheek on my hand. The waiter brought us our food, and I slowly nibbled at it.
"Would ice cream make you feel better?" N asked, taking a bite out of his sandwich.
"No."
"Some games?"
"No."
"Some battles?"
"Seriously N, I just went through a tournament."
"I'm just trying to cheer you up."
"I said I'm just fine."
N frowned. "I just want to help..."
I opened my mouth to speak, but I could hear screams from outside. Both N and I stopped and looked out the door, as if debating to run out or not. I was the first to get up and run out. I could hear N calling me to come back, but I ignored him.
I ran out of the alley, and saw people running away from the ports. There was a large ship, almost pirate-like, pulling in. People in black suits got off it, running into the city. Without a second thought, I ran toward a group of them.
"Give us your Pokemon!" They growled.
"Who do you guys think you are?" I glared, grabbing a Pokeball from my belt. I noticed the familiar emblem on their suits; the same one I've seen around N's castle.
"We're Team Plasma!"
"Uh-huh. Just another stubborn group. I thought I had enough of that in Johto..." I sighed, releasing Glaceon. They released their Watchog.
"Glaceon, blizzard!" Glaceon quickly knocked out all of their Watchog with only one hit.
"That's not good, run for it!" One of them shouted, running through the streets.
"Hey! Get back here!" I yelled, chasing after them with Glaceon following. "Glaceon, ice beam!" Glaceon froze the ground, making a few grunts slip. Glaceon froze them together, so they wouldn't go anywhere, and we continued on chasing the others. They went to the first port, where the entrance to the sewers are. They quickly ran in, and hid from me. I ran in after them, quickly looking around for them. It was quiet minus the dripping of sewer water.
After standing there waiting for them to come out, I took out Zorua's Pokeball.
"You're capable of making a Plasma grunt illusion, right?" Zorua nodded before being covered in a pink light, and disguising himself as a male Neo-Plasma grunt. It was convincing, minus the Zorua tail that was still visible. "Just keep that tail hidden, and try to find the other grunts in here."
"And do what?" Zorua asked. When Zorua is disguised as a human, he is able to copy their voice as well, which just makes these illusions better.
"Lead them out to the open? I'll take care of them from there."
"Alright, alright...I'll be back soon."
I watched Zorua run deeper into the sewers. I told Glaceon to stay alert, and wait for some kind of sign that they were coming. I could hear some shouts, and here was an explosion around the corner. I ran towards it, to find two Plasma grunts knocked out, with another 'grunt' grinning behind them.
"They were being difficult." Zorua said.
"So you attacked them?"
"Well it made things easier." Zorua shrugged.
"Glaceon, ice beam." Glaceon froze them like how we froze the other ones earlier.
"Ok, so you caught a couple of grunts, now what? Turn them into the police?"
"I can't do that without being caught...so I guess leave them here for someone to find them." I said, turning to walk out. Zorua turned back to normal, and I returned both of my Pokemon to their Pokeballs.
I noticed the ship flying (yes, flying) away, already retreating. I shrugged it off, and walked back to the little shop where N and I were earlier.
"What do you think you were doing?" He asked, worried, once I got back.
"Oh, you know, shopping, partying, and fighting a few Plasma grunts." I said.
"Team Plasma? But they were taken down two years ago. I should know..."
"Apparently not. They were all like, 'hand over your Pokemon!' and what not." I said, going back to my sandwich.
"This isn't good...are they still in the city?"
"Not that I'm aware of." Unless if he was talking about the ones I froze into Plasmicles, but yes, technically they did leave.
"Come on, we gotta go." He said, quickly walking out.
"Now who's jittery, hm?" I said, following.
"Just take out Dragonite; we're going back to Driftveil."
I took Dragonite's Pokeball off my belt and released him. "I don't see what is there that you want but whatever." I said, climbing on. He climbed on after me, and Dragonite took off for Driftveil.
We landed at the north of the city, where the ex-Plasma members stay. We got of Dragonite, and I returned him to his Pokeball before walking in with N.
"What happened? Team Plasma is back?" N asked Rood, one of the former members of Team Plasma. He was apart of the Seven Sages or something like that...
"I've heard of some Plasma reportings, but I don't know why. I don't see what they're going to do considering both of the legendary dragons aren't here." Rood said.
"Well obviously they're planning something."
"We can keep an eye on them, right?" I said. "I did beat the shit out of a couple of them, if I do say so myself."
"But we're also being looked for by the police, if we do something wrong, then we could be caught. Let some other trainers handle this." N said, acting as if its nothing.
"Let some other trainers handle this?" I repeated, shocked. "Team Plasma is back, possibly trying to take over the world again, and you want us to step aside?"
"Umber, my fath...Ghetsis is probably leading this, and I know he'd have tricks up his sleeve. I don't want you getting hurt."
"I don't give a damn if I'm hurt. Team Plasma is out there, hurting people, and maybe I wanna do something about it! Innocent people are being hurt!"
N looked at me, giving me that look that says that he knows something's up. "It's not just about that, is it?"
I avoided his gaze and sighed. "Maybe I want to redeem myself. I still feel terrible about what I did two years ago, and I want to fix my mistakes. I want to help people now..." N opened his mouth to speak, but I ignored him and walked out, and away from the small building.
I looked up to see crowds running to the PWT as I walked, and from here I could see a ship arriving. But I could tell it wasn't Team Plasma's ship, considering this one didn't look like it was owned by pirates. I decided to follow the crowd, and see what was so special.
Getting there, I noticed the ship was much bigger than I thought, and seemingly first class. I did hear that Champions and Gym Leaders were coming to the PWT, so I guess it was them.
And I was right; one by one the Gym Leaders and Champions of other regions walked off the large ship, waving to the crowd. I counted them off, and when they finished with everyone in the Sinnoh region, I thought everyone was off. But more people walked off, and they were all too familiar.
The Dexholders...
