Chapter 19

"Yeah, unfortunately he got away...we could have gotten Team Plasma's current location out of him," I said over the phone, letting Looker know of the attack.

"Focus on your safety first; you're lucky you were quick enough to latch onto him as he was teleporting...if you didn't, you'd still be wandering in a dark cave with no signal or map."

"Yeah, yeah..." I was tired of people being concerned over my well being. Team Plasma is a little more important right now.

Silver and I were currently at the Pokemon Center, getting our Pokemon healed after the battle with Shinimi. I was currently pacing back and forth in the upper level, away from most people. Silver was sitting, watching my nervous pacing with arms crossed.

"We're still working on locating Team Plasma, and contacting anyone that may have seen their ship. I'll call you when I hear of anything," Looker finished before hanging up. I sighed and clutched the device in my hand. I paused my repetitive walking cycle in front of the bored redhead, who only looked up with dull eyes.

"I don't remember you being this anxious over everything," was all he said.

"I don't remember you being a piece of shit...oh wait, I do," I retorted, smirking.

He rolled his silver eyes. "Uncalled for."

I snorted at his cute eye roll before my PokeGear began buzzing. A single name, or letter rather, lit up on the screen. I clicked the accept button before placing it next to my ear.

"Hey, N," I casually greeted.

"Arceus Umber, what happened?!" His sudden shouting caused me to flinch and slightly move the PokeGear away from my face. "You can't just call me and hang up suddenly! I've been trying to reach you and you haven't been picking up either!"

"Whoops, sorry N. Sorta had a run in with Shinimi, I didn't mean to hang up on you like that," I apologized, going back into my pacing.

"I was worried...you need to be more careful; I told you how dangerous Team Plasma is, especially Shinimi and his brothers," N warned.

"I'm aware of that already; I think anyone who nearly stabs me is dangerous," I said without a second thought, but instantly regretted that once two distinct voices yelled, "What?!"

"What the fuck do you mean 'nearly'?!" Silver shot up, pulling the PokeGear from my ear, but still loud enough for N to hear. "When did this happen?!"

"Look, calm down, I'm fine!" I yelled back before resuming my conversation with N, who was still stressed out.

"Umber, see what I mean? They're dangerous! I know this! Nothing you say or do will stop them from completing whatever mission they've been given!" N pleaded for me to listen and stay safe.

"Why are they so loyal to that scumbag Ghetsis anyways?" I didn't understand it. Ghetsis may be their leader or whatever, but they're stronger than him. They can easily overpower him and ignore his commands.

He sighed before starting. "The three of them were orphans like me and my caretakers; Ghetsis took us all in. They were different though. They were born with those strange abilities that Ghetsis found useful, and they've been loyal to him ever since he saved their lives," the boy on the phone explained. "They owe their lives to him."

I gritted my teeth. Ghetsis without the Shadow Triad would be nearly powerless. Take away the Shadow Triad and you take away his means of escape. Take away the Shadow Triad and you take away his element of surprise. Take away the Shadow Triad and we have a greater chance of beating them. All of this was too damn frustrating. Team Rocket was much easier to deal with; and we had a blind Silver!

"Would you have any idea where they are now, N?" I asked, shifting our focus from me to Team Plasma.

"No clue. I haven't heard from Rood about anything yet, but I'm sure we'll get something soon. We have ex Plasma members on the ship and once the coast is clear for them they'll reveal their location," N replied. "Just make sure you're prepared."

"Yeah...okay," was all I said. I didn't want to have to wait. Waiting felt dangerous, like if we wait too long it'll be too late, or once we find their location, they've already succeeded.

"Don't worry, you're not alone," N assured me. "I'll talk to you later..."

"Yeah, bye," I said quietly before hanging up.

Silver was still worked up about my earlier statement and continued on about it. "I fucking asked you a question."

"Hm?"

"Don't you 'hm' me! When did that psycho nearly hurt you?!"

"Oh, on the ship when we were fucking shit up," I replied calmly, hoping it would calm the angered tsundere.

It in fact did not calm the angered tsundere. "Umber! You need to be careful!"

"I am careful!" I lied, but it was out of love. I was trying to assure him I wasn't a reckless person now. But in my defense, I didn't expect him to pull a knife out; here in the Pokemon World we duke things out with Pokemon.

"I just found you after two years, I don't want to lose you permanently," Silver admitted, tilting his head down and shielding his eyes. I could see his jaw clenched tightly and his lips quivering a bit. Well this conversation took an emotional turn I was unprepared for.

"Silver...?" I lightly brushed his hair to side, as if a single touch would cause him to break down. "Hey, don't cry, I'm still here."

"I'm not crying! I'm just not used to these damn contacts yet!" He sharply moved his head to side, causing his red locks to fall back into place. I ignored his obvious lie and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, placing my chin on his shoulder.

"I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I promise," I said softly, running my fingers through his surprisingly soft hair (what product does this boy use?).

He hesitated as if he were processing my words, deciding if I were lying again or not. I mean, I've lied to him so many times in the past, so I don't blame him. But he returned the warm embrace, placing his arms around my waist and holding me tightly like if I were lying, he'd make damn sure I stayed with him anyways.

"I'm just so damn worried about you," he said in a whisper, a slight crack in his voice.

"I'll be okay. I'm no longer a clueless Rocket grunt with a little Dratini. I've gone through my own fair share of battles and villains, built my team up, and became a better person," I whispered back, afraid that his emotional breakdown was contagious and that I'd start crying.

We stayed there for what felt like forever, feeling like the rest of the world didn't matter and time froze. However that was not true and Nurse Joy's voice came over the speakers, announcing our Pokemon were healed. We broke apart, and Silver softly smiled at me. I returned the smile, glad that I was able to settle him down.

We left the Pokemon Center with our healed Pokemon and decided to head back to Driftveil City where the others were. All of the Pokemon from the Plasma raid have been returned. All that was left to do was worry about Team Plasma's next move. We were all inside the PWT, which wasn't as crowded as it has been. The remaining battles were postponed due to the attack.

Our group sat on dark green couches and chairs in the main lobby, with new, bone white tables in between them. Large flat screen TVs were clearly visible from any seat to watch battles. The bright lights reflected off the white tile floor, making the whole place appear even more brilliant.

Silver sat next to the left arm of the couch, hoping to not get squished between two people, but failed when Gold placed his behind on the arm of the seat. I sat next to Silver, trying to comfort him when he groaned in annoyance from his companion's antics (companion? More like compainion). Next to me sat N, oblivious to the scene next to me. Next to him sat Yellow, who seemed comfortable with a fellow friend who could understand Pokemon. Red was in the chair next to Yellow's side of the couch, and next to him was Green in the second chair, who looked like he was a babysitter sick of his job with his chin in the palm of his hand. Blue sat on the left arm of the opposite couch, pestering the bored looking rival. Ruby and Sapphire sat besides her, bickering over who knows what. Emerald was next to Ruby, annoyed with the two and talked to Crystal, who was on the right arm of the couch. Last and certainly least was Lyra, sitting alone on a chair next to Crystal, looking bitterly in my direction.

"Guys, we really should talk about our next move," Red said to the group, but only a couple turned their attention to him.

"Hey, shut up!" Green snapped, getting the rest of the group's attention. While Red was clearly the leader, Green was always there to put people in their place. Like Red was the good cop and Green was the bad cop.

"Yeah...anyways," the battler started, not too fond of the trainer's way of getting attention, but went with it anyhow. "We know Team Plasma has a legendary captive, and the item that supposedly fuses that Pokemon with Reshiram or Zekrom."

"As far as I know, Zekrom isn't in Unova," N spoke up. "I only have Reshiram."

"So Team Plasma may come after you, considering Reshiram is a key part of their plan," Red wondered.

"Ghetsis is a tricky person, he may have an idea to lure you somewhere," I added. The green haired boy nodded in agreement.

"Or send the Shadow Triad after us," N mentioned, looking at me. At the sudden mention of the Shadow Triad, I thought of Shinimi, and my stomach churned. I curled up slightly to ease my nervousness, but my thoughts wandered reminding me of every touch and word. I flinched when I felt an arm around me, but relaxed when I realized it was only Silver trying to comfort me. I placed my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes, focusing on his (shockingly) warm hold.

???'s POV

Get your hands off of her, she's mine! I'll kill all of you so I can have her all to myself. And you, Silver, I will save for last and slowly watch the life drain from your eyes. But I won't let you die, no. I'll keep you alive so you can suffer for stealing my love. I'll make sure it hurts you seeing her with me so you understand my pain.

"I don't think it's safe for you to be out then...maybe go into hiding?" The blonde next to N said.

"Perhaps you should stay at the castle until Team Plasma is taken care of?" That damn redhead spoke up, still holding my love. The sound of his voice just disgusts me. Oh how I crave to hear his screams of pain, begging for me to just end it.

N hesitated before nodding. "Yes, maybe that's for the best. As much as I don't want to sit out, I'll have to make sure Reshiram is safe."

I grinned. Now that I know where the target will be, I can deal with him while he's alone. I'll have to report this to Ghetsis, and soon, all my dreams will be a reality. Team Plasma will be successful, and all those damned Dexholders will be dead.
