Chapter 18

"You know, I couldn't stop thinking about you ever since you betrayed me...I couldn't wait to get my hands on you to finally give you what you deserve," Shinimi said deeply, his eyes taking on a deep shade of purple. His grin made my heart beat pick up. Alarms in my head were blaring to get the hell away from him. But what can I do? He's a crazy teleporting ninja with a knife.

"Do I have to remind you that technically I didn't betray you if I planned that the whole time...?" I replied despite my anxiety. Well, I was always sure it was my smart mouth that would get me killed one day; may as well make sure that happens.

"You played with my heart and my feelings, plans or not, that's not very nice. Why couldn't you think of me? Of us?" His face got closer to mine, and I craned my neck back to keep as much distance from him...which was quite hard considering he still has a killer grip on my wrists.

"I mean, I liked you as a friend before the whole nearly stabbing me thing," I said, remembering watching an illusion of myself die in front of me. Fake or not, it's still disturbing.

"I have to give you credit for your quick thinking, but unfortunately you only pissed me off more. I don't like losing," the black haired boy hissed. "Now how should I take care of you? Should I kill you here? Take you somewhere no one will ever find you? Kill you in front of your loved ones...? The possibilities are endless!"

Yeah, ok, murder. This is when I try to get away and try not to get killed in the process. Step one, struggle; try and rip your arms out of your possibly soon-to-be killer. When that fails because either you're weak as hell or he's strong as hell, go for the crotch.

Shinimi kicked my legs out from under me, causing me to fall back on the dark concrete. "Wow Umber, you know that isn't fair. Besides, what made you think it would work a second time?"

Groaning in pain after my head made contact with the ground, I sat up feeling dizziness shake my senses. However as I looked up, my brain was rattled again as a hand wrapped around my neck, snapping me back down to the ground. I could still breathe, but it was limited.

"Shinimi, listen to me...you don't wanna do this...you're only following Ghetsis' orders...please...stop..." I managed to mutter out, while taking the short breaths I could.

"Hmm?" Shinimi's face shifted as he went into thought. "You know, you make a good point," he said, smiling. "You've helped me make up my mind; I'll make everyone believe you're dead and take you somewhere only I can see you, you'll be all mine!"

Alright, not what I wanted. He took his hand off my neck and quickly scooped me into his arms, fingers digging into my skin making sure I wouldn't leave him. Regardless I struggled, hoping to at least reach a Pokeball.

"Umber, why do you still struggle? Isn't this better? I'll keep you happy and alive all while keeping you to myself..." The ninja sighed, looking down at me sadly. "I'll show you how much I love you..."

"Hey asshole, what do you think you're doing with her?!" A voice yelled out clearly through the alley.

Shinimi groaned in annoyance. "What now?" He turned, facing the owner of the voice. Silver stood, glaring at my captor, Feraligatr standing tall besides him.

"Oh, it's you. I never did get your name...too bad I don't care," Shinimi said, seemingly unbothered by the fact there's a beast with teeth sharp as razors growling at him (and I don't mean Silver, even though the same applies for him). "It's a shame that you caught me though, now I have to make sure you stay quiet."

"Feraligatr," was all the redhead said before the water type pounced at us. Shinimi didn't move a muscle, of course he didn't, he just teleported away. However, our new surroundings weren't the city. It was dark and cold, and sounds echoed off the walls, like dripping water. A cave? Of course, he knows I probably can't find my way out.

The Shadow Triad member placed me down on the ground. "Now you be a good girl and stay here sweetheart. I'll be back in a little bit to get you," Shinimi said from somewhere behind me.

There's no way I'm sitting here and letting Silver deal with him alone. Quickly I shifted and darted towards where his voice came from, gripping onto his legs just as he teleported.

It was light and noisy once more, and Shinimi was caught off guard, falling on his ass mid-teleport. He grunted as he made contact with the ground. I took the chance and climbed on top of him, making sure he didn't go anywhere.

All he did was smirk. "Oh babe, I didn't know you wanted that."

I gritted my teeth and punched him in the mouth. Satisfying, yet painful, probably for both of us. I didn't care though, I wanted to shut him the hell up. He groaned in pain, yet still pulled his lips back into a smirk, showing his teeth slowly being coated in his blood.

"Umber, Umber, Umber...I'll make sure you regret doing that," he said, suddenly throwing me off. I cried out, mainly surprised at the sudden force.

A shadow covered me, and I looked up expecting to see Shinimi ready to retaliate, but I saw Feraligatr standing between me and the ninja. I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I jumped, still anxious with Shinimi around. Thankfully it was only Silver.

"You alright?"

"I could be better." We couldn't exactly stop to chitchat so he helped me to my feet and my first instinct was to send out a Pokemon. I sent out Zorua, seeing how his illusions may help counter the shadow demon we were fighting.

"Zorua, dark pulse!" I immediately commanded, not really caring if Shinimi had any Pokemon out. Of course he teleported, and when he reappeared he sent out his two Bisharp.

"X-scissor on Zorua!" Our opponent commanded, both of his Pokemon going for my Zorua. Feraligatr blasted one away with hydro pump and I ordered Zorua to fire another dark pulse. It wasn't as effective as hydro pump, but it managed to interrupt Bisharp's attack.

"Night slash on Feraligatr and x-scissor on Zorua!" Both Bisharp took off towards their enemy, blades glowing, powering up their attacks. Silver ordered his water type to use aqua tail once it was close and I had Zorua use shadow ball. Feraligatr successfully knocked back one Bisharp but the other just cut through shadow ball and attacked Zorua. The little fox Pokemon yelped and was thrown back.

"Zorua!" My Pokemon stood on shaky legs, shook the pain away, and insisted on continuing the battle. While I would have switched out, Zorua's skill would be needed so I complied and let him continue battle.

"This is pathetic, Bisharp, attack Zorua the same way," Shinimi ordered.

"Feraligatr, knock em back with hydro pump again!" Silver yelled, not letting Bisharp get the upper hand. The Bisharp focused on Feraligatr managed to dodge while the other was blasted into a nearby wall. The water type was slashed head on but still stood and caught the dark type with its jaw, throwing it down.

"Zorua, dark pulse!" I had him attack the one hydro pumped into the wall, hoping to finish it off. That Bisharp held up it's metal arms blocking the attack, and raced towards my own dark type. I had Zorua quickly use double team to throw the other Pokemon off.

"Metal sound!" The half steel type let out an ear piercing shriek, causing both my Zorua and Silver's Feraligatr to wince at the noise. All the fake Zorua disappeared when my Pokemon let his guard down. "Now, guillotine on Feraligatr!" The Bisharp closest to Feraligatr pounced at him when his guard was down and struck it with its glowing arms, landing the one hit KO move.

After Zorua had let his guard down, another x-scissor successfully hit, causing Zorua to fall back once more, struggling to keep battling. While Silver let out his Weavile, I pulled a Pokeball out to return Zorua, but with shaky legs he still stood. I was about to return him, but he sharply barked at me before his body lit up. I was confused at first, like 'Zorua, what the hell are you doing??' but then I realized he was evolving. When the light faded, the black and red form of Zoroark stood in front of me.

"Way to go, Zoroark! Dark pulse!" I smiled at my newly evolved Pokemon, who attacked the Bisharp who nearly knocked him out with a powered up attack.

"Bisharp, attack that Zoroark!"

"Zoroark, use your illusions!" Both of the sword blade Pokemon aimed for my Zoroark before his eyes flashed blue, making it seem like they were still aiming for my Pokemon. The illusion quickly faded to reveal one Bisharp knocked out by the other one, having been disguised as Zoroark in the illusion.

"Weavile, finish it off with ice beam!"

"Zoroark, dark pulse!"

Shinimi's Pokemon was cornered, and was hit straight on by the two in coming attacks. Dust covered our small battle field and once it was cleared, we could see that both Bisharp were out. Shinimi growled and returned his Pokemon.

"You may have beaten me in battle but that doesn't mean I won't come back for you, my sweet Umber," he creepily grinned before disappearing into the shadows. Silver protectively held me close before being assured that the ninja had left us alone.

"Who the hell was that?" The redhead yelled before turning me around to face him, his gloved hands gripping my shoulders.

"Shinimi, one of the Shadow Triad," I told him. I would have told him to calm down but I know better than that at this point.

"Arceus, Umber, you have to be more careful than that; I almost lost you," he said before pulling me into his chest. I blushed a little, still not used to physical affection by the boy who hates most things physical and all things affectionate.

"Don't worry about me, I wasn't going down easily," I assured him.

"I know, you probably still could have beaten him without me, but it still worried me," he said, now blushing. Probably not used to saying sweet things.

I decided to lighten up the mood by poking his left cheek and going, "Aw, are you blushing?"

He only blushed more and slapped my hand away, claiming that he wasn't. "Come on, let's get out of here..." he said, taking my hand and walking me out of the alley, with our Pokemon following closely behind. "We need to get to a Pokemon Center."
