Chapter 15

“Whoopsie, I’m so clumsy.” I said, rather sarcastically.

“You know, you could have done this in a much more...civil way.” N sighed, after my loud ‘announcement’ in the hallways of the International Police Headquarters.

Silver, clearly pissed as hell at my ‘rash’ and ‘stupid’ action, already left, not wishing to be caught up in this. Oh, but he will. I’ll make sure of it.

I only shrugged in response to N, and that’s pretty much all I had time for before police officers grabbed me and forcefully dragged me down the hallways, not asking any questions yet. I could only assume that they were either taking me to a cell or to where ever they do their interrogating. However, if I was put in a cell now, Silver would get away, and/or the Shadow Triad could come back. I had to hold back a shudder remembering that insufferable Shinimi.

“Excuse me, officers, I’d like to say, before it’s too late, that my buddy who helped me break in is getting away as I speak.” I informed them, hoping they’d listen. Two of them looked at each other with raised eyebrows, as if they were telepathically communicating, “Should we listen to her?” “Red hair, two Weaviles with him possibly, huge asshole, you’ll know him when you see him.”

“Why should we listen to you?” One of them demanded.

“Because there’s some kid who knows how to break into your headquarters, sheesh. Wouldn’t you like to question him?” I replied.

The one who asked sighed, pulling a walkie-talkie sort of thing out and spoke into it. “Check the perimeter; searching for a red-headed kid, possibly with two Weavile. Find him and bring him in.”

I held back my smirk. Things were going just as planned.

“Now can we get this questioning thing done as soon as possible? I’m kinda in a rush to get out of here.”

The other officer snorted, and said, “What makes you think you’re getting out?”

“Well if I’m deemed innocent then you can’t really keep me locked up here.” I said.

“Yeah, ‘if’” He retorted.

“Oh, yeah, you’re right. My bad. I meant ‘when’.” I countered.

“You’re an arrogant one, aren’t you?”

“If that’s what you wanna call it.”

We got to a locked door, which one of the officers unlocked, and I was shoved in. “Looker will be here shortly. We’ll be outside the door so don’t try any funny business,” I was informed, before being locked in. I simply took a seat at the table, crossed my legs, and sat back waiting for the man to come.

Once Looker entered, I sat up straighter and uncrossed my legs, just wanting to get this out of the way. He took a seat on the other side of the table, in the second chair.

“You came back,” was all he said, with a puzzled look.

“I did. For good reasons.” I replied. “If I were truly a criminal, I wouldn’t have. I only ran out of fear.”

“I originally only wanted to discuss Team Rocket with you, but now Team Plasma is in the picture, with N and the so called ‘Shadow Triad’ being directly related to you.” He said, scooting his chair in and leaning on the table slightly.

“If I may, I’d like to clear up what happened, talk to you about what happened two years ago, and then talk about what is going on right now with Team Plasma.” I said, getting down to business. I intend to clear my name today, and I’ll make damn sure that’s what happens. I explained everything that happened, like my relations to Team Plasma before they broke me out, why they broke me out, so on (I’m not going to have you read through all of that; you know what happened).

“Now, with Team Rocket.” I sighed before continuing. “I did willingly join Team Rocket at a young age. My parents died in a house fire, cause unknown, and their leader found me and offered to take me in. He did make it clear that he led Team Rocket, and I still joined by my own will, so don’t think I was forced or anything like with Team Plasma.” The whole time Looker was intently listening, never interrupting me with a question. “He went missing at some point, and I never knew. The executives covered up his disappearance and I didn’t know until it was too late. They made it seem like Giovanni asked me to go search for his son, the redhead kid I was talking about earlier, the one that hopefully you caught. I had no idea why, I just did what I was told. I never knew about their Pokemon brainwashing machine, I didn’t know they were behind everything, I didn’t know anything honestly. And I really, really feel like shit. It was my fault Silver got injured and went blind and—” I didn’t realize my speech was increasingly getting faster, nor did I feel the teardrops on my cheeks. Arceus, that boy has ruined me.

“Umber.” He finally interrupted. “I believe I’ve heard enough.”

“If you need someone to back me up, ask Silver. That’s why I said he was here.” I said, wiping the tears away.

“How about  you tell me everything you know about what Team Plasma is planning now and I’ll let you off the hook.” He offered.

“Wha…? Can you even do that?” I asked. It sounded like I got out of something as little as detention.

“If it’s for the greater good, then yes.”

I smiled. “Yeah, okay. Well I know they’re still out for liberation, but they’re led by Ghetsis so there could be ulterior motives there. They have a Pokemon locked up as well, some huge ice type that I don’t remember the name of. It started with a K or something…”

“Kyurem?”

“Yeah, that. They used it for this machine and froze an entire city, for some item. I didn’t find out what item though but whatever it was, it was guarded in that city and they probably have it now.” I concluded with a, “I’m sorry if this isn’t much help but that’s all I know.”

“No, this is great!” Looker stood up. “I’d like to keep in contact with you, since you’re already heavily involved. If you get any new information, contact me as soon as time allows.” He placed my belongings that were previously taken before the Shadow Triad busted me out on the table, and waited for me to put everything away in their respective pockets. “N and Silver will be released as well.”

“...Thank you.” I managed to say. There was actually a part of me that didn’t think I’d actually get out of this. Looker added his information to my PokeGear before handing that back as well. “I’ll make sure to report any sightings or information.”

He nodded in acknowledgement, and led me out to N and Silver’s separate cells. N looked pleased with the decision I made, and hugged me tightly upon being let out.

“You’ve done the right thing.” He said smiling after letting go. He held my hand while we walked to Silver’s cell, which was only a little further down the hallway. I was a little surprised at the hand holding at first, but then I remembered, ‘Oh yeah, we’re dating.’ I’m such a great girlfriend. ...That’ll take some getting used to.

Silver, as usual, wore his signature glare and didn’t look too happy seeing me, and looked even worse when he saw our intertwined fingers.

“What the hell kind of stunt was that?” He hissed at me when he was let out, and given his things back. Both Weavile were returned to us, each one running to their trainer.

“She was doing what had to be done.” N said before I could open my mouth. Oh Arceus, this isn’t going to turn out well.

“Let’s just go, it’s in the past.” I said, hoping to prevent whatever warfare Silver would start with the green haired hippie. We were escorted out anyways, and Silver was smart enough not to start a fight with police officers around. So once we were let outside and walked out some ways from the HQ, I thought things would be over with, but they only started.

“You could have dealt with that later.” The redhead snapped.

“I could have, but I got it out of the way.” I said, this time before N could say anything. “Don’t get so pissed off about something in the past.”

“What if he didn’t let you go? All three of us would have been stuck in there! Or at least you and me, since they already let this guy off the hook.” Silver said, eyeing N. He noticeably glared at N when he looked at him. “You never introduced me to your boyfriend anyways.” Venom just dripped from the word boyfriend.

“Yeah, well, this is N. N, this is Silver. You both have heard about each other so it’s nice to finally meet, right?” I hope Silver calms the fuck down. N is so nice, he doesn’t deserve to be around the embodiment of hatred.

The green haired boy smiled softly, despite Silver’s bad attitude. “Umber has told me so much about you.”

Silver blinked in confusion actually. “She has?”

“Don’t act surprised.” I mumbled, blushing. I swear to Arceus if N brings up anything—

“Of course. You’re one of her best friends, why wouldn’t she? She missed you so much after she left.” Arceus-dammit N. My blushing increased, considering this was mostly stuff I didn’t want Silver to hear.

“Oh really?” The redhead questioned, eyeing me. He tried to hold back that stupid smirk that I would have slapped off his face if he let it show.

N nodded. “She always talked about how often you two argued but always made up, and when you two traveled together, and how much she lo—”

“Nope! I never did such things!” I yelled, covering N’s mouth with my free hand before he could get the ‘L word’ out completely. I didn’t need Silver to hear that now, especially when he probably (hopefully) forgot about my confession in the Rocket hideout. “Oh! Look at the time! We should probably hurry back and help the others with the Pokemon!” I quickly pulled Dragonite’s Pokeball out and released him, getting on with N and flying off towards the tournament area. I didn’t bother looking at Silver, just buried my face in Dragonite’s back to hide my burning face.

“Did I do something wrong?” N asked innocently.

I took a deep breath to steady my words. “I just don’t think Silver needs to be reminded of my feelings for him.”

“You think he forgot?”

“Well, yeah, I hope.”

I just heard him chuckle behind me, as if he knew something that I didn’t. “Alright, if you say so.”

I remained silent for the rest of the ride, thinking of that damned silver eyed boy. He doesn’t like me that way, right? Otherwise he wouldn’t have broken up with his girlfriend, attempt to break me out of a prison, come help me fight an evil organization, help me break back into a prison, and—

I’m just gonna stop there.
