Chapter Thirty-Eight

After an hour they finished breakfast, kankuro was slightly traumatised at what Gaara explained to him, and Hiniku was back to his normal self while wearing a loose shirt and pants. Hana had applied the cream to her dad a while back and he was thankfully feeling better.

They checked out of the inn and started to walk back.

"Guess it'll take about 4 days back to Suna?" Questioned Kankuro as they continued.

"Nope." Smiled Hana as they approached the woods.

"Well what do you have in mind?" He asked as they went further into the woods.

She shrugged as she said "My kekkei genkai." Gaara looked over at her, interested in what she had planned.

"The one that you guys said you can even turn into mythological creatures?!"

"That's the one!" She said with a closed eye smile.

Aozora smiled a little. "You haven't gotten to use that form in a while haven't you Hana?" Knowing what was going to happen.

"It's hard to find time to escape to the desert. I don't wanna scare anybody in the village you know?" He laughed, remembering how his kekkei genkai scares off so many opponents on missions.

"Well then, it's about time you showed them." He added. You nodded as they reached a small clearing.

"This should be a good spot." You said before dropping your bag. The men followed and dropped their things, two of them unaware of what was to happen. You stretched a bit before slamming your hand to the ground, feeling the chakra spread around your body as you said "Beast form: Dragon shift."

"Did she say draGONNNNNN!!!!" Screamed Kankuro as he watched her transform. Scales began to cover her body as she grew. And grew. And grew some more. A crack could be heard as wings began to form on her back and spread wide, making the guys run further back to give her room. She took up most of the small clearing when she finished. She was a white dragon, her tail was wrapping around a tree and she stretched her wings and shook her head, getting used to being in this form.

"Wonderful! It's just as good as last time!" Said Aozora, secretly happy he doesn't have to do any running- he truly was exhausted from carrying that damn cat. He hopped on with his bag and held on to one of the spikes on her back that was in front of him. Her spikes were conveniently spaced out so they could be used as handles. She didn't come with seatbelts unfortunately.

Gaara walked in front of her, in awe of her transformation. "You're beautiful Hana." She blushed a little before he used his sand to fly up to her face and kiss her snout. She closed her eyes as her wings opened and closed, making gusts of wind around them.

"Alright we get it lovebirds now come on Gaara! Let's head home already." Said Kankuro as he was also excited to see his little troublemaker of a boyfriend. He hauled his bag up as he held on to the spike in front of him, pretty worried as to how safe this actually was. Hiniku sat behind him and Gaara sat behind Hiniku, leaving Mr. Aozora in front and happy. Hana flapped her wings a few times before the got off the ground a bit, slowly rising high up to the clouds.

The men looked out in awe at the view. They could fly through clouds, huge buildings looked like tiny squares, and they could see the forest for miles. They were right too. This was much faster, and they'd be home by nightfall, given how fast she was flying.

"I can't wait to be home." Said Aozora.

"I can't wait to see my boyfriend." Said Kankuro longingly.

"Y-you have a boyfriend?" Asked Hiniku. His village is very old fashioned and backwards, so a man saying his mate was a man was taboo.

"Yeah, you got a problem with gay people?!" Retorted Kankuro. If Daisuke taught him one thing, it's to have pride in who you are. And he worked too damn hard for a scrawny kid to try and say something bad about him.

Hiniku was red with embarassment as he waved one hand side to side as he stuttered out the word 'no!', making sure his other hand was still on Hana's spike. "Just the opposite really."

Kankuro watched him in confusion from his answer before a lightbulb lit up. His eyes widened as he said "are you...?"

Hiniku looked down, blushing furiously. "I-I don't know." Kankuro was surprised at his answer. He gave him a small smile before saying "Trust me, if you say you don't know, it's because you know, you just don't wanna say it." It definitely took time before Kankuro would even admit it to himself when he was younger, seeing how no guy ever talked about crushing on a guy before in his group of friends. But in time he grew to accept himself. And with help from Daisuke he learned to love himself too.

Kankuro turned back to face the front, thinking the conversation was over. But after a minute he felt Hiniku tugging his shirt. Kankuro turned back around to look at him. Hiniku was nervous, not daring to look at Kankuro before asking "What if you like both?"

Kankuro gave him a smile before saying "there's a word for that too: it's called bisexual. It just means you like both men and women."

"O-oh, so....being...b-bisexual...is okay?"

"It's more than okay kiddo, in Suna we don't really care so much about that. As long as you're happy,  that's all that matters." Hiniku smiled a bit, a huge weight was now off his shoulders. That was one of the many reasons they called him weak in his village. He was seen having a crush on a boy and was punished severely for it. So he was ecstatic to hear that where he was going to live would be a more inclusive and open place.

Kankuro patted his shoulder before saying "welcome to the alphabet mafia kid."

"The what?"

"You know, it's hard to explain I'll have Daisuke explain it when we get back. " they both smiled before facing front again. They could already see Suna on the horizon as the sun began to set.

They soon reached the gates, each man hoping off her back one at a time. Gaara watched as she transformed, slowly leaving clothes by her claws as he slowly encompassed her in a dome of sand for privacy as she changed. She knocked on the sand when she was done and the sand moved back to Gaara's gourd. They passed through the gates and met face to face with the council. They were FURIOUS. Their Kazekage vanished in the middle of the night with practically NO warning and gave no notice for when they'd be back.

The gang was bandaged, wearing dirty clothing, Hana was exhausted from flying so long, Aozora's back was still killing him, Hiniku was having an inner dialogue of his new sexual identity and what kind of mafia Kankuro said he'd be joining, and Gaara was sick of the council butting in.

"I apologize for my absence, seeing as how I did not give notice for my departure. But seeing as how my future wife was also unable to give me notice of her own kidnapping, I believe you will understand this predicament. I will call a meeting tomorrow for unanswered documents and news I have missed during my mission. For now though, I believe these shinobi have earned a night of rest." Said Gaara before walking with Hana hand in hand passed the old geezers.

"F-future wife?" Whispered Hana, blushing over the fact that he said that out loud to the majority of the council while Hana was looking scrappy.

"Of course. We're going to have a baby together, we might as well think about marriage." He answered, a small blush tinting his cheeks. As they walked a little further they could hear someone running. They look ahead and see Haku.

"Hana!!! Brother!!" He screamed as he ran. He turned into a hawk earlier and flew close to the gate to check if Hana would come home today. He checked every single day three times a day. Once he saw the dragon he knew it was her.

She ran to hug him, as did Gaara. They all embraced as Haku started to cry a little. "I was scared you weren't gonna come home." He said.

"I'm here now Haku, Like I said Gaara will always protect me. And we're here now, so please don't cry." She replied before giving him another big hug.

Later on when everyone went to Hana's home and had their reunion and introductions, Hana's mom was in the kitchen cooking up a storm to feed these hungry shinobi. Everyone took a shower and changed into actually clean clothing and could finally relax on the couch. Daisuke ran over to Hana's house to hug Kankuro before slapping him upside the head for leaving without giving him at LEAST a text. And then smacking his arm for scaring Hiniku with the term 'alphabet mafia' without properly explaining it's not an ACTUAL mafia. Yuki was putting the placemats on the table while Hana's mom was serving the feast.

Everyone's mouth watered as they saw the giant bowls of katsudon. Thank Kami. They feasted while telling of their travels while laughing at the time the inn keeper saw Aozora and Hiniku their animal forms. They made sure to keep out the bad stuff that happened. Wouldn't want to scare anybody with that. After the meal Kankuro and Daisuke head to his house while Hana and Gaara decide to spend the night at her house since her family must have missed her so much. They also told her family the news that she's pregnant, making her mom squeal for joy as she held the onesies for their future baby.

Later that night they head upstairs and roll out the mat before they snuggle together. "Mi amor, when do you think we could get married?" He asked he kissed her cheek.

"I'm not sure, we'd have to save some money to afford it, so maybe some time after the baby's born."

"Money isn't an issue my love."

"Um, I'm not sure what kind of wedding you're thinking of mi amor but most wedding are pretty expensive." She retorted. He laughed a little at her remark.

"Hana, did you forget something? I'm the kazekage. I have Kazekage salary. I can afford a wedding, whether you prefer it to be modest of lavish." He ended it with a kiss to her angelic lips.

"...I guess I did forget about that." She mumbled. They both looked at each other while laughing. Their giggles subsided as Gaara grew a little serious.

"Why don't we get married this month?" Hana's eyes widened.

"T-that'll be quite a bit of planning." She said, not giving a clear answer.

"We can do it together, and we could hire a wedding planner to make it easier." He said before kissing her cheek, slowly kissing down to her neck.

"B-but...." she started, but couldn't find an answer to finish that statement. I mean if they got married soon, it'd probably be before her morning sickness starts, and she won't have a belly in the wedding pictures, and she could be his wife faster. And, and.....and Kami sama she wanted to marry this man so bad.

"But what mi amor?" Gaara asked, stopping his kisses so she can answer.

"....I want to get married this month." She said with a smile. He gasped at her answer, hugging her tightly while being careful not to squish her stomach. They kissed as they made their decision final.

By the end of this month, they would be married.
