CHAPTER EIGHT SURPRISE

PJ'S POV

Getting up from the bed I realize I am not in my bedroom although the bed and its linens are just like my room. I notice the walls are lined with silver. The door and its handle are also silver. For the normal wolf this would be a prison but for me its an energy boost.

Yep that's right this room is just helping me to refuel. I am a royal silver wolf at the moment. My fur is literally silver not just silver in color. You might think that would make it hard and spiky but when silver isn't mixed with other metals it is soft. So my fur is rather soft, however if I go in battle mode my blood sends the metals in it to combine and it makes it almost like a titanium armor. Also when I shed the lost fur will be come hard. I really can't explain why or how. It's weird because only those I consider family can touch me unless they want to feel the silver burn when I go wolf. That's another one of my gifts.

As I look around the room I notice a few things. There is a small desk and sitting on the side of it is a picture of my family. I remember the day it was taken. I was 5. Uncle Mark took it just before his family left our house. That was the last time I saw the triplets until early this morning. Those were happy days.

Next I see a small refrigerator and a chest freezer. Now that is unusual. As I walk over to them I see an arrow pointing to the desk, where I see a letter.

Princess,

I had this built just for you. I know that after your mother would use her gifts she would pass out for long periods. We have a hidden room off my office just like this were your mother would rest following an episode of her having to use her powers in large doses. When you come to the house I'll show it to you.

The security is tight in here. Only Tom, Tina, Tad and myself have access to it at the moment. Terrence will be given access but he hasn't been around. Tonight we will program both rooms from my office with a retinal scan. I want you safe when you have no energy.

Anytime you enter either room both Tom and I have an icon appear on our phones and computers so we know to check on you. It is also a reminder that we will need to restock. The fridge is stocked with water and energy drinks while the freeze is full of deer meat. I know you can control the elements so I didn't bother with a stove or even a microwave.

You probably need to get you a roast and something to drink right now. I am guessing you have been checking out this room instead of seeing to your needs.

I get up and go get a roast and an energy drink from the fridge. I send some heat into the roast so it is no longer frozen and walk back to the desk and sit down to finish reading the letter Uncle Mark left.

I hope you are chewing on that nice juicy roast about right now. I am sure you are because I remember how your mother was.

If I calculated right, you have about one hour before you are due for dinner with the family. Please link me and let me know you are up so I don't have to come and get you. I set the timer so you should have a hot bath waiting for you as well.

I am looking forward to spending some time together tonight. I do think I need to warn you Tad may be the prankster around my house but though Terrence doesn't pull them often he is just as good if not better so be very careful...

YES AND I ATE A ROAST AND 2 STEAKS. I THOUGHT I WOULD LEAVE A LITTLE ROOM FOR DINNER. I hear chuckling in my mind. I AM ABOUT TO GO CHECK ON THAT BATH AND WILL BE THERE SHORTLY. IS EVERYONE THERE?

TOM IS JUST GETTING HOME WITH TINA. TAD ARRIVED HOME ABOUT AN HOUR AGO AND IS HELPING HIS MOTHER SET UP THE DINING ROOM. I JUST HEARD TERRENCE SO HE IS AWAKE BUT NOT DOWN. HE HAD A VERY LONG SHIFT AND WENT UP AND TOOK ABOUT A 4 HOUR NAP. SEE YOU SOON.

As I open the door I realize I am now in a stairwell going up. They must have built this under the little cottage. No regular wolf will be able to enter that room and stay more than a minute without it draining them of all their wolf strength.

As I lay back in the tub of hot water and begin to relax I reach up and caress my mark. I know now that I will be meeting my mate tomorrow. I can't be any happier about that than I am.

I hear a very sententious groan and growl in my mind.

PRINCESS YOU WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME I hear coming back. JUST YOU WAIT.
