Reader's POV
Its been two days since the day me, Stein, Maka, and Soul trained. Lately I've been training by myself in my room. This is to expand the rang of souls I can see of course. Classes have been going by pretty quickly. This is because I draw most of the time. I can pay attention and draw so its pretty easy. What has really been catching my attention, is why I catch Stein almost constantly glancing at me. I just shrug it off and continue my picture. I was almost done when the bell rings. I gather up my stuff, and making my way to the door. Half way there I can hear Stein say my name. I turn to him, curious about what he wants to say. He looks at me and clears his throat.
"May I please see what you were drawing in class today?" He said. His glasses were covering his eyes, making it harder to read his expression. I nod and grab the piece of paper which has the drawing. (Drawing is mine.)
Stein stared at the paper for a little bit. I wish I knew what he was thinking I thought. After blinking a couple times he came back to reality. "I like it. You did a good job (y/n). Did someone teach you?" He asks. As I think for a little bit it came back to me. "Yeah. I had a friend for a little while. She taught me how to draw and helped me. Eventually she had to move away. I never saw her again." I say closing my eyes and shrugging. The memories made me sad so I just pushed them away. "Well at least you weren't completely alone in that house." Said Stein. I nodded and put the drawing back in its rightful place. Just then I heard a knock on the door frame. Sid and Spirit were standing in the doorway. Spirit had a huge smile on his face. Sid looked like he was doing the same for someone with no lips.
"Hey (y/n)! Me and Spirit heard that you became a death scythe a couple days ago. Since its the weekend we are all off work and wanted to celebrate." Said Sid. My eyes widened at the words "celebrate". "R-really? No one really has ever celebrated anything about me ever." I say smiling and scratching the back of my head. Spirit looked shocked. "So no one ever celebrated your birthday or anything like that?" He said dumbfounded. I nodded looking at the ground. I feel a pair of arms wrap around me, pulling me into a hug. I tense up at the sudden contact. It was spirit and Stein hugging me. Spirit looked like he was about to cry. I relax after realize that they were trying to support me. "That is the worst thing you can do to someone. To never be happy for a person's accomplishment. We are all going to celebrate. You don't have a say in this." Said Spirit. I could feel Stein nodding. I giggle at this.
"You guys are the closest things I ever had to a family. Thank you so much." I say as tears threatened to spill from my eyes. I could feel a hand wiping them away as soon as they do. It was Stein who did. I blush for a second, but shrugged it off and smiled. "Ok enough of the sappy crap. Let's all go out to eat. On me!" Said Sid. I smile brighter and nod. When we get there, it was a café. I felt a little out of place, scratching at the bottom of my sleeve. When we got to the counter, I looked for a second. "Hello welcome to Sunbucks! What would you like today?" Asked the lady at the counter. "Um let me just have a (f/d)." I say stuttering. I have never been to a café. She nodded and put it into the price into the cash register. "I'll just have black coffee with creamer." Said Stein. That sounds like something he would drink. I though laughing in my head.
"I'll have a caramel mockiato." Said Spirit. He looked like he had stars in his eyes. True kid at heart. I thought. "I'll just have a iced mocha." Said Sid. He seems the most normal out of the three. And he's a zombie?!? I thought, almost screaming it in my brain. The lady nodded and took are names. We tell her them and sit at a table. It was a window seat so I just stared out of the window. "So (y/n), how has school going?" Asked Spirit. I look over to him smiling. "Its been pretty good. I have a lot of free time to draw. Plus I was given a bunch of paper in my room!" I say cheerfully. Spirit smiled back wider than he already was. "Oh, speaking of school, (y/n) I need to work with you on your hand writing. I know you never really got to write a lot so your handwriting is not the best. Its just really hard to read." Said Stein. My smile dropped. I nodded as the number for the drinks was called. Stein stood up to go get them.
"So, since you like to draw, what do you like to draw?" Asked Sid. I look over to him, my smile returning. "Oh I like to draw art with a lot of symbolism. I just like how things can have a deeper meaning." I say, my smile grew wider just thinking about it. A deeper meaning. Just brushing the surface is not good enough. Digging deeper for something, but you didn't know what. It can be sad, happy, anything. You don't know but you still dig. I was pulled out of my train of thought by my drink being placed in front of me. "Slow down there astronaut. We're not flying to the moon today." Said Stein with a smile. I blush at this and stared at my drink. It was pretty good. After a little bit of drinking my (f/d) my face calmed down.
The rest of the day we checked out the town. It was pretty fun. Is this what its like to have friends?
(HAPPY EASTER GUYS!!!! Sorry this took a while to make. Writers block is a b****. Anyways, hope you're having a great Easter. Until next time, goodbye!)
