Why Did You Forget? Second Chapter- Request

So uh- yep. This was a contest entry but I mean- I can still do a second chapter right? Right. Especially if someone asks^^
You'll (hopefully) see much more improvement on my writing since I wrote this back....uh...how long ago again?
The point is I've grown a lot as an author since then.
And since I've always wanted to rewrite this story (and the first chapter) so it seems better for a long time, I figured that writing a second chapter would be less tedious then just basically rewriting the one shot in a different writing style.

Oh! And did you guys see the new cover? I'd like to know you're opinions.
Does anyone even read these A/N's?
And sorry this chapter isn't very long^^ I couldn't figure out anything else to write despite what I had planned.

So! Without any further nonsense, I present, the second chapter to what once was a one shot but now isn't because- Enough rambling! Onto the writing part!

When the principle had looked out his window before finishing work, he hadn't expected to see two soaking wet teens in his school's uniform sitting beside the pool. The fact that they were fully clothed led the principal to believe that they either hadn't had the chance to get to anything too steamy yet (which they never would if he had a say in it) or they had never planned anything of such in the first place.

Though, he didn't exactly know for sure what those two had planned, or never planned to do, now did he?

"Hey Natsu...?" The moments that had gone by silently were ones with tears shed and peacefully relaxation. Until Lucy had to ruin it that is. But Natsu merely mentally sighed, thinking about how he had expected such weirdness from her, ruining the moment which he had dubbed 'potentially loveable'.

"Hm?" Humming a response, the pink haired teen slowly let Lucy go, taking favour of sitting beside her and not focus on the gasp creeping up on him when he could literally see the tear stains along her beautifully- er... along her pale face.

Natsu then decided that he should keep those thoughts in his mind, instead of speaking them out like he usually did. Lucy would most definitely put her martial art training from Erza into a kick to his face if he had implied she wasn't beautiful- wait, no. Scratch that.

Lucy would've kicked him anyway even if he did said she was beautiful. Again. A perfect display of what Natsu considered his weird Lucy.

"Did you eat the chicken before you dragged me here?" She asked, voice thoughtful, and thankfully not letting in on any hints that she was mentally freaking out.

So one minute she's fine with his hugs and the next she stares at his lips!? There was surely something wrong with her, and she actually believed that Natsu's false accusations of her being weird weren't actually false.

Sure she had been absentmindedly thinking about if his lips tasted as he smelled- like damp grass (and nature in general, though Lucy would never admit she had been taking in that much detail about his scent) in the early morning, and a log camp fire late at night.

Though how her mind interpreted a flame and nature changing smells by the time of day, she didn't know.

The funny part about this, that wasn't actually very funny, was that she had been so lost in her thoughts, she hadn't realized that those thoughts consisted of the things that if she kissed him, would her lips burn because of the spicy chicken?

When she spoke that thought into a question she decided that she should just shut up.

"Oh...no I didn't...I guess you wasted your time there didn't you?" Natsu laughed sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment and...maybe that other feeling was guilt?

The pink headed fiend truly hoped that when Lucy didn't give an immediate answer, that it wasn't because she was staring at (what he thought) was his slightly pink, embarrassed cheeks. Maybe his blonde friend would say something to change the subject?
If she was, he silently hoped she'd do it now.

In hindsight if he had wanted to see her reaction he never should have kept his eyes closed when he scratched the back of his neck to add effect to his 'lighten my punishment because hopefully I don't look like the bad person you claim I am' smile.

"Nothing will hopefully be wasted..." The blondes voice beside him was barely a whisper, yet somehow he was still able to hear her.
Even though he could hear, doesn't mean he understood. What did Lucy mean? Was she just being weird again? Natsu had then concluded that his blonde friend had just been being weird...that had to be it...right?

Oh Mavis Vermillion just what exactly what she thinking!? When she had whispered that, she hadn't expected Natsu to hear her!!

If she tried to kiss him now would he just open his eyes? Or...Or...

Fuck it. Though the blonde had never really used curse words, she wasn't necessary in her right mind, water probably still clogged up all of her logic. (At least Lucy figured out she was in denial.) Taking a breath, she decided the risk was worth it.

Lucy knew that if he felt her breath on his face, he would undoubtedly open his eyes. So holding her breath was simply for the security measures of her dignity.

Placing one hand on her bent knees, and the other on the still damp tile floor beside him (she had been worrying if she placed her hand too close to his leg and he'd feel her totally natural heart beat.)

When her face was in front of him, she began to actually contemplate whether or not if she was actually going to go thought with thi—

"Hey Luce, why aren't you saying anything?" Well shit. Without thinking, she pushed gravity, and quickly moved closer to her pink haired friend. The closer she got to him, the more the sounds around her were drowned out by her erratic heart beat.

She had never kissed anyone before. Not her father. Not her mother. And definitely not her best friend. But one of those things were about to be crossed out of that list wasn't it?

Lucy kept her brown eyes wide and alert, waiting just waiting to see his facial reaction. Though, why he hasn't opened his eyes from his smile was unknown to her; it gave her a chance to kiss him didn't it?

Though, when the smell of cocoa and faint lime floated towards his nose at a rapid speed, he was too curious not to open his eyes.

And when he did he felt like the world stopped. Blood pulsing, Natsu's hand slowly reached up to catch her shoulder, seeing as if she continued to fall her whole body would topple onto his. And if someone saw that they would surely jump to conclusions.

It seemed to Natsu that Lucy had gotten to wrong idea when he shifted his arm to her shoulder. And she had immediately sprang backwards, covering his mouth to stifle some sort of horrified gasp.

Oh she got the wrong idea all right.

"I- I'm sorry I- I stood up to- to get a towel and - and I- I uh- I slipped and just-Oh Mavis I- I'm-...." Letting out a large sigh, she removed her hands from her mouth and flashed him a smile. Yet that didn't seem to satisfy him.

He wasn't bothered by the fact that she lied to him, he was bothered by the fact that he himself had just gave up on asking for anything potentially more than a friendship mere second ago, and he hadn't taken in the fact of kissing her as an option!!

Probably because she would've slapped him. But still!

Eyebrows furrowed, Natsu crossed his legs, leaning towards Lucy, not letting go of her shoulders as he yanked her towards him.

Then there was paper. A blank. White. Sheet of paper, separating their views of each other.

"What do you brats plan on doing exactly?" Natsu retracted his hands from her shoulders, and did what he assumed Lucy would do. Slowly lean back and pretend like nothing happened—

"I'm so sorry! Istolethecouchandthenhethrewmeinthepoolforrevengebuticantswimsoimeanialmostdrownedthenhecametogetmeandwellicriedandhecomfortedmetheniwenttogetatowelandslippedandhehadopenedhiseyeswhichihavenoearthlyideawhytheywereclosedbutanywayhesawmeand—" Lucy was rambling. Which was completely and utterly out of character for her, usually she'd just slowly lean away and pretend that nothing happened, with Natsu being the one to ramble.

Wait- no Natsu would yell at him for misunderstanding the situation. No one she knows rambles.

The principal was debating (since he was so short anyway and it's not like he had to lean down) to put his hand in the middle of the two romantically involved teens...but had soon trashed the idea when he remembered they were covered in pool water.

"Quiet child!! I don't need your blabbering excuses! You two, come to my office." Without any other instructions, the elderly principal walked back inside the school. But not before stopping and throwing them both a towel.

Lucy's was immensely larger than Natsu's towel, and before the two would start wondering anything, the principal spoke up. "You're wearing a white shirt Lucy." Before walking away, letting the school doors slam behind him.

Lucy immediately shrieked, covering herself with the towel, just as Natsu turned to her with another embarrassed grin. Saying, "Blue suits you." Before bolting into the school building, laughing his lungs out, as an angry, red, blonde chased after him.

With intentions for murder at that.

"Lucy Heartfillia...and Natsu Dragneel. This is both your last year here at Fairy Tail no?" After the two had found their way to the principals office (with Natsu groaning in agony, and Lucy smiling in satisfactory) he had taken out two files, each with a picture of the two teens on them, before exiting. Only for a child like woman to walk in, with long wavy blonde hair, and stern green eyes.

The blonde had sat in the principals desk, taking off the pin that said 'Makorav' and replacing it with one that said 'Vermillion'.

When she had placed her hands on the desk, after moments of silence, she surprised the two with said question.

Nodding hesitantly, Lucy merely tensed up, while Natsu remain relaxed and loose, giving up on his theory of 'Doing what Lucy would do' because frankly, even if she kicked him, it would only add to his throbbing body, from when she had given him a good beating.

"Yes ma'am. It's our last year here. And if you'd let me explain what happened, I promise you won't—" Lucy's voice was quiet and shaky, she was obviously nervous, even Natsu who didn't even know what it was like to be that nervous, could tell how she felt.

"Nonsense." She smiled softly at the two teens, waiting to see what they had to say themselves before continuing.

"But Mrs Vermillion—" Lucy tried to comprehend why this woman would just let them off the hook for something that could've easily be misinterpreted.

"Please, call me Mavis." When the woman's eyes darkened both Natsu and Lucy turned to stone in their seats. "The only punishment you two get is to clean the pool, and the area around it after school for the next month. Though I may warn you, there have been complaints of blood and vomit near the outer edge."

Lucy's relieved face immediately fell, her eyes practically popping from her scull, while her pink haired best friend merely sighed, and held his hands behind his head and folding them together.

To Natsu, cleaning the pool wouldn't be that bad. And it's not like you loose anything really if you clean up quickly. Or at least that was his logic. (Though he had never really cleaned a pool before.)

"That's not all." Mavis had added those words with a bright smile as the doors behind the two creaked open. "You'll need to explain this to your parents."

To Lucy, this seemed impossible. Her parents were still out on a business trip to the Capital Crocus...weren't they?

Though when Natsu heard this, his first reaction was to freeze, then unexpectedly at the same time as his blonde best friend, turn around slowly towards the door.

When they saw four adults with worried and scowling faces there, they mentally prepared themselves for what was to happen to their corpses once they died.

Third chapter? Maybe? Hopefully.

Hey if someone asks I won't complain! ^^Hehe...enough of that!

I hope you enjoyed this! And if you managed to spot any spelling mistakes it would be appreciated if you could comment telling me so!

This chapter was about 2000 words and took me a day or so to finish (Not including the days which I hadn't managed to actually write anything.) so if you want another chapter (which should hopefully be longer than this one. If not the same amount of words) I'd like to know before hand^^

Now my Fairies, I must be off!

Stay Psychotic,
Night-Chan
