For lunch, Seunghee and Yuta eat at the school café. They're too busy now with their respectively college works considering their graduating in a few months.
She sits across him at the already packed café. They've only sit down for a few moments and just started their meals.
"Are you going to Taeyong's party tonight?" Seunghee asks.
"I don't know. I still have lots to work on for my thesis. But I'd probably go," Yuta replies. "You wanna come?"
"No, just asking. I'll go over Sana's tonight. She said she needs help with her demo."
"Alright. I'll call you later. Are you sleeping over?"
"Maybe. I'll decide later. I still have some clothes with her anyways."
"Just call me so I can pick you up."
She only smiles at him, he's always too caring. His Japanese ways are just too sweet. And she knows what he'll say next.
"I think I'll pass on Taeyong's party. It's just gonna get loud there. Why don't I go with you at Sana's instead?" he smiles at her with a wink.
She only giggles as she shakes her head. Lately, it has become like this. Wherever she goes, if she's gonna take all night, he'll be there to safeguard her.
"I knew it's gonna be like this," she says, the corner of her lips forming into a smile.
He skeptically looks at her, trying to hide his evident obsession of her, "Why? What's wrong with tagging along? Sana's my cousin anyways."
"Yeah, yeah. Can't I have my own privacy once in a while?" she jokes.
"I'm not invading your privacy. Or am I?" he utters.
They continue to enjoy their little chat while Jeonghan and Chaeyeon are fast approaching just outside the cafeteria.
"Hurry up oppa!" Chaeyeon excitedly paces inside the café. It's her first time there after the entrance exam she just finished a while ago. She dragged Jeonghan with her, since his college is just a couple of blocks away.
"Will you slow down? The café's not going anywhere," Jeonghan whines.
Seeing her ever-sloppy boyfriend, she walks back to him and tugs at her beloved oppa instead.
"Come on! I heard the cake here is really good!"
She's like a grade school kid, but he thinks it's cute. This is one of those days when he can't say no to her. She's like his younger sister in some ways.
Jeonghan and Chaeyeon enter the location gradually. Seunghee and Yuta are sitting just near the counter where everyone passes by to get around with the food they order. Jeonghan and Chaeyeon fall in line as they choose their snacks.
"This red velvet looks yummy oppa," she cheerfully says.
"You know I'm not fond of sweet things," he replies.
"Then how about we try it now? You have to eat it all okay?"
"Who sets the rules now?"
"Me! Two, red velvet slices please! And two cups of cappuccino. Thank you!"
Eyes twinkling like the stars, Chaeyeon is trying to overpower him again with her cuteness. Jeonghan just sighs and gives up, if he really wants to continue dating this girl, he has to deal with it. It's not every day like this anyways. So he'll let her have her way.
Seunghee and Yuta are about to finish their food. The next period is only 20 minutes away. She's getting her things ready and he's watching her as he drinks his tea.
"Why do you always carry such a heavy bag?" he asks curiously.
"I have my reasons so don't ask," she evades the question. "You're invading my privacy again."
"What's with the privacy thing? I don't get it," he queries.
She only rolls her eyes at him as he gulps his drink. Then offers to take her bag.
"Give it to me, I'll carry it for you."
She's surprised, it's written all over her face cuz he never did it before. On the other hand, he tries to act as complacent as before.
"What? I was watching you the other day and it looked like you're having a hard time so just give it to me."
She smiles sweetly and asks him, "So what's in it today?" she asks. It's oftentimes he asks her for something or her to do something for him. And it's always not just a simple request.
"Nothing. This time, there's really nothing. Just the usual kiss later."
She doubts him but it's okay. He's never gone beyond his boundaries anyways. She hands over the bag until they hear the sound of dishes cracking. Just a few feet away from them, Chaeyeon has accidentally bumped onto a senior. She dropped her glasses of water, which are now broken pieces on the floor. Jeonghan quickly runs to where she is. He has just paid for the food and she insisted she go ahead of him.
"Chaeyeon-ah!" he cries worried.
"I'm sorry! I wasn't looking!" Chaeyeon bows to the person.
Jeonghan is already by her side waiting for the response of the person before her. The person sees him too and then gives her reply. Luckily the other girl admits it isn't solely her fault. "No, I wasn't looking either, it's okay. I'm sorry too. Let me pay for the glasses."
Chaeyeon lifts her head up amazed, "Sunbae... You're so nice. Thank you!"
"No problem." The girl goes to the counter and leaves them.
Jeonghan slightly bows to her too. A staff also comes over then to clean up the mess she caused.
"Sorry. Thank you," they both utter to the staff.
He then turns to his embarrassed girlfriend and scolds her, "I leave you for a second and you go trashing this café. Way to go Jung Chaeyeon."
She pouts at him but lightens up in split second. "See that?! She was so nice! With sunbaenims like that, I'm definitely enrolling here next semester."
"Just because of that? You're too easy, you better look out for yourself."
"Oppa!"
That's the only time they notice that almost everyone are looking at them. And that includes Seunghee and Yuta, who are exactly at their side watching them. They heard their sweet talks all through and it makes them cringe.
"How sweet of these two," Seunghee murmurs.
"He's lucky to have a cute girlfriend," Yuta adds.
"And you're not?"
Seunghee's mood always turns sour everytime he does this. Meanwhile, he only keeps his mouth shut teasing her. It always ticks her off when he does. She's never getting used of him teasing her. So she turns to her side sulking and exactly catches Jeonghan and Chaeyeon bowing at people for the disturbance they caused. And when it's the time for Jeonghan to bow at them, he looks directly at her.
Something just clicks. Something just ignites and the fireworks start firing. They don't bump shoulders, they don't cross paths, they only see each other at a distance. And that second their eyes meet, they both know it's never gonna be the same again. That their worlds are bound to each other. That they're bound to be together.
But Seunghee's trance is cut by Yuta's words, "Come on Seunghee-ya."
He's already standing and ready to go when she looks at him so she obliges and gets up herself. She doesn't give Jeonghan another glance though. She doesn't know how and why it feels like she knows the person she just locked eyes with. It feels really troubling, but in a very nice way.
Seunghee and Yuta leave the place while Jeonghan follow her with his eyes as she walks out the exit. Did he just feel his heart roar? It's never happened before. Not even with Chaeyeon. What's with that girl? Who is she? Suddenly, he's curious about her. He wants to know all about her.
"Oppa!" Chaeyeon burst out yelling a little.
Jeonghan finally hears her voice and turns to her.
"What were you doing? Come on, let's find a table."
"Yeah, sure."
While thinking about the girl he just saw, he follows his girlfriend. With a troubled mind, he knows he's gonna see her again, cuz for sure, he's gonna find her.

Jeonghan and Seunghee are with their partners right now. They're supposed to be in a happy and content relationship. But upon meeting each other, without even knowing each other's names, they both knew their lives are tied. Deep inside, while being with another person, they're both thinking about that mere second. That second they set their eyes on each other. That moment they both knew they belong together.
