Chapter 1

Sofia’s blood was pumping so fast she could hear the roar of it in her ears. “Something’s wrong, I can feel it.” Once again she found herself pacing the cage. “Dejame salir! Let me out of this damn cage!”

She was beyond frustrated. She closed her eyes cursing the day she shifted a year ago. To top it off, Sofia had yet to see her little brother Marcos. If memory served her correctly, it’s been almost 3 months since she last laid eyes on him. “Sofia, please calm down. You know it does no good for you to get all worked up.”

“Stop talking in my head Lolita, It’s your fault I’m in this mess.” Sofia refused to mind link with her wolf. So she screamed her response out loud. Why did this have to happen to her?

Thinking back as far as her memory would go. Sofia recalled that her body had developed at a young age. Yet she had been a good girl, even though all the attention she received made her feel good. It was not a bad thing to like it. Since everybody knew, it was hands off.

That didn’t stop them from thinking, they would one day claim her body. Sofia frowned as a memory of her mother invaded her thoughts. “We are naturally curvy and well-endowed. My mama also told me that we are just too sexy, for our own good.”

I miss them so much the day I shifted. Mom and dad had been gone for almost 3 weeks. It was just my little brother and me. To my horror, when the shift happened. My wolf was some kind of fucking magical thing. The next thing I know, our Alpha grabbed me and tried to claim me as his mate.

He was a good looking man but he was not my true mate. He was also a bad man. Our race was meant to wait for their true mate. He on the other hand had other plans. His ambition for money and power made him go against all we were. A Bar was erected in the outskirts of our village, where he uses the girls as dancers so they can get the men drunk. Once they were drunk enough, they had to get information from them. If they had no one that would care if they died or not, they were either robbed and thrown out of the bar or killed and eaten.

For some reason the males of the pack developed a taste for human meat. It was not clear to me if my dad ate human meat like the others did. I just prefer to believe he didn’t. My father was the one in charge of teaching the pack worriers how to fight. I being his daughter, learned firsthand. The art of hand to hand combat. My dad taught me things he had not taught his fighters.

So when this jerk, told me to mate with him. I wasn’t having any part of it. That was when I found out the big deal about me being a white wolf. Lolita talked to me for the first time and explained who we were. “Do you want him to be your mate? He is not your true mate. Since we are white wolves, we can select who we mate with. If he is your choice I can allow the mating.”

A shiver ran through my body as I halted her words. “No, we need our true mate. Plus this Alpha is a disgrace. There is no way he is getting his hands on my body and the powers you say we have.”

Upon hearing her words, Lolita erected a shield of fire around them. In the process, burning the guys that were holding Sofia.  It was the perfect time for them to escape. Just as they were getting ready to bolt, the Alpha spoke. “Drop your shield Sofia.” Lolita smiled thinking the guy had truly lost his mind. It was the whimper of Sofia’s little brother Marcos that had her reluctantly dropping her shield.

It took the threat of death, before anyone dared to approach Sofia. The Alpha yanked Marcos to him. They had no choice but to surrender. Sofia was taken to the Alphas house but anytime he would get near her, the shield would go up. Suffice it to say, she burned down 3 houses before he realized he would be unable to claim her. The cage was then moved to the woods.

Now, the cage gets rolled to the bar at night were she has to dance while the girls get the guys drunk. Sofia dances so her brother is not killed. Every day she wakes up praying the nightmare will end soon. Every night he does the same thing but day after day she is forced to see all the carnage that takes place in that bar.

It was only the visit Sofia received days after she was captured that kept her hope up that salvation would come. A large white wolf came to see her and explained that she had been picked for a special mission to help mankind. Sofia was very happy and felt honored, for in a pack were sex was given, taken and sold, she had managed to keep her integrity and faith.

Her friends and fellow females voluntarily were forcefully made to pleasure the pack leaders and all the other males. Had it not been for her father’s position as enforcer, she may have had the same fate. It was her father who made her strong in spirit and physically strong as well.

It broke her heart to see all the injustice, yet she prayed for freedom and the ability to be able to take her brother someplace else.

“Sofia” I hear my name called softly in my mind, before the white wolf appears before me.

“What do you want? Just go and leave me alone.” After a year of cage life, it’s been harder and harder to keep my faith.

“Why don’t you use your mind link?” he asked.

“Why should I, it’s not like I’m ever going to shift into a wolf again.” I had only experienced minutes of shifting into my wolf. Yet I still mourned not being able to shift again.

“My child, I understand your anger. Tomorrow will be the last day of captivity. Freedom will come and you will be able to shift once more. Two other white wolves have been sent. Sofia, your brother is now with the great Alpha. There is nothing keeping you here now.”

Sofia was in shock, from hearing her brother included in the white wolfs last sentence. “No, please tell me he isn’t gone too.”

“My child, I am so sorry but the last time you saw him was the last day he took breath. You should not worry, they are now safe and not suffering.”

“You have got to be joking, Kill me! End my suffering! I hate you! I hate everything you are doing. How can you claim to be good and allow all this suffering to continue?”

“Sofia, I know you say this in anger. Tomorrow all will die. All their sins will be paid in full. You will learn to forgive and return to the pure soul you were meant to be.”

I looked at him and cried, for my parents, my brother, my friends and all those innocent people. I never once cried for myself. The next day I cried some more until the night came.

“What are you crying about now?” came a voice out of the shadows. My shield automatically went up.

“Why don’t you leave me alone?”

“I told you many times. Mark me as your mate and give me your powers. I will set you free, then you can leave here with your brother.” My eyes narrowed at the mention of my brother.

“Never!” growls out of me.

“Drop your shield Sofia. I have the water for your bath and your clothes for tonight.” Once my shield is dropped, he walked close enough so my arms can reach the clothes. He knows better than to get too close. I would have my shield up in a heartbeat.

Once he left, my fire walls went back up. It felt like hours had passed before the weird noises started. I was about to drop my shield for a longer period of time, then thought twice about it. The Alpha had tried many tactics to get me to drop my shield for longer.

Two pair of voices drifted to me “You will die young, pup.” Great another loser who will lose his life trying to get to me. Will these men ever learn? My eyes closed as a prayer was said for the soul that will soon be lost.

My eyes opened upon hearing a voice that was way too close for my liking. “Are you ok in there?”

Sofia freaked out and yelled at him “Como Diablos entraste aqui. How the hell did you get in here?” She was frantic with fear. The panic only lasted a brief moment. Lolita chose that moment to tell her that their mate had finally come for them. The one person made especially for you.

Sofia didn’t think they really existed. He was such a pretty wolf, a reddish russet color. Lolita says we belong to him. The Alpha chose that moment to scream for me to drop my shield or he’ll hurt my brother. ”Does he have your family?” The wolf asked through mind link.

A tear rolled down her cheek. “He has killed everyone I loved. There is no one here for me.”

“Go to him and mark him as our mate, this will bond him to us and he will help us get out, he will love us and we will love him. Do you feel that pull he has over us?” Lolita whispered.

“Yes, I feel the warmth spreading through my body.” Sofia whispers back still not taking her eyes off the big wolf before her cage.

“He will save us,” as Lolita said the words the wolf approached.

“We are here to rescue you.” Sofia moved her hand through the cage bars and placed her delicate hand on the animals head. After closing her eyes, she allowed Lolita to speak the ancient words that would allow their power to surge through their body and into that of their mate.

An incredible need to protect him enveloped her body. This was her mate and she now will be his. He will stake claim to her mind body and soul. She didn’t care how his human body looked. All she knew was that she already loved him, for he was risking his life to save her.  It was that love she already felt for her mate that allowed her to give him more of her powers than she should have.

Sofia felt blackness start to take over as her shield dropped. She trusted him to take care of her. In the state of weakness she was currently in. If he failed to protect her, the Alpha wouldl be able to claim her as his. If she woke up with his mark, all will be lost.

As Sofia was losing consciousness, Ricky was having a mini melt down.

Holy shit I’m going to die if my friends don’t get here soon. Besides the worry of dyeing Ricky was also worried about his mate. He couldn’t get the image of her out of his head. Why was she dressed like that? A female should not be showing all that skin. It should only be showed to your mate and no other man.

She was way too sexy for his liking and he didn’t like the thought of her attracting male attention. His thoughts were cut short as the crazy wolf he was fighting took a bite of his back. He was able to toss the wolf off his back and straight into the tree behind him.

Ricky had never been relieved to see the pack as he was in that minute. It wasn’t that he thought he couldn’t handle the crazy ass wolf. His problem was that he couldn’t get his mind off the woman in the cage. The power coursing through his body didn’t help matters any either.

“Why is he so hard to beat?” Ricky asked as he was once again taken down by the beast. Before he got up Logan, Kevin and Rene pounced. The anger in him coursed and it took no time for the four of them to rip him apart.

“The closer we get to the root of evil, the harder the leader of that pack will be to kill. That’s why for him we needed the 4 of you together. The next one will probably need us all combined to fight him.” Serenity explained.

“Is she alright?” Destiny asked as she made her way to the cage. Once there she noticed the poor girl slumped over. Worry creased her brow. Could she be in serious trouble?

“She gave me more power then she should have. That made her already weakened state worse.” Ricky said as he and the others joined Destiny.

“Oh my goodness, she didn’t” Serenity and Destiny said in unison.

“Why are you looking at me like that? Ricky asked noticing the shocked expressions on the girl’s faces.

“In the history of our kind, we very seldom give more than half our power.” Serenity said as she walked over to the bars of the cage.

“Why not? Logan asked as he wrapped his arms around Serenity.

“Sharing more than half your power, will allow the bond to cement forever.” Logan dropped his arms from Serenity. He then turned her around at the same time Kevin raised his brow at Destiny.

“Are you saying, she loves him more than you love me?”  Logan was not happy with the conclusions he was coming up with.

“I didn’t say that Logan. What I mean is that she is now emotionally vulnerable. Ricky can hurt her, he can literally break her.” Serenity said as she placed her hand on his cheek, willing him to understand.

“Why would Ricky want to hurt her?” I mean look at her, she’s hot as hell.” Rene says as he too walked over to the bars.

A growl ripped out of Ricky’s chest as he saw the males get close to his mate. When Logan and Rene turned and laughed at him; Anger coursed through his body. Never in his life had he experienced this amount of jealousy.  He didn’t like it, no he didn’t like it one bit. Why in the world did his mate have to look like that?

Kevin walked over to Ricky and swatted him with his paw. “Let’s go change into human form and dress. She will be waking up soon, only fair she gets to see what a prize she’s won.”

“What about her?” Rene asked earning himself another growl from Ricky.

“We can pull the cage and get her to where we’re going. The cage has wheels, so I’m guessing that’s how they moved her around.” Ricky told them as they all looked at him confused. “You’ll see why I said that. You better hope she doesn’t wake up before we get to our designated spot. Just one note of caution. If you see her move get the hell out of the way, at least 5 feet away. Trust me on this.”

Once they arrived to the designated spot. Ricky smirked as he laid eyes on Kevin and Logan’s tattoo’s. His ran from his shoulder to his elbow, in the most intricate pattern he had ever seen. Ricky smiled at the look Logan shot serenity once he spotted his tattoo.

When they were all dressed and the girl still had not woken. Serenity and Destiny entered the cage. They intended to wake her by sparking their magic. “Ok everyone, stand all the way where I am. I need you to just please pay attention.” Ricky tells his friends as the girls shoot their first spark.

As they watched, Ricky took the time to rub his broken ribs. He could feel them healing but there was no way he was going to show his pain. He noticed the moment the girl started to move. Then whoosh, her shield went up and everyone screamed, yelped, cursed. You name it, they did it out of surprise.

“What the fuck was that?” Logan asked taking a couple more steps back. The heat the shield omitted was scorching.

“It seems her power is fire. That my friends, is her shield used for keeping people away.” Ricky heard the pride in his voice.

“Holy crap, that just makes her hotter on a whole other level.” Rene said looking on in amazement.

“Stop talking about her like that! “ Ricky said through gritted teeth.

Logan walked over to him and slapped him on the back. “Don’t worry, you learn to control the possessive feelings eventually.”

“Oh damn, is this what you and Kevin feel when we get close to your girls? Shit man, I’m so sorry.” Ricky looked at his friends full of remorse.

“Like he said, you learn to control it.” Kevin tells Ricky as he squeezed his shoulder. Yet Ricky was not liking the feeling or believed he would ever be able to control it.  His thoughts were cut short the moment the shield dropped. They looked on as Serenity and Destiny exited the cage. The girl looked as if she were thinking of whether or not to follow them out.
