Ire sat at the edge of a cliff.
They were in Outertale somewhere. It didn't really matter where. All that they cared about was the inky black abyss beneath them.
Distort and William were quiet for once. They would have been grateful for the peace, but they knew it wouldn't last.
As if on cue, Distort practically yanked their head to the side. Ire sighed and climbed to their feet, following the gesture to whatever he wanted them to see.
A small group of monsters. Hm. William whispered that people didn't usually go out this far. Distort, on the other hand, was practically yowling that they should attack. They hadn't eaten in so long, after all, and-
Ire shook their head. They had just eaten. A sandwich they'd swiped from a convenience store. The wrapper was still sitting at the edge of the cliff.
Distort let out a piercing screech that made them wince and sway a bit on their feet. Not like that! We need life! Feed me feed me feed-
Distort, William cried, seeming distressed. Quit acting like a 3-year-old! We aren't going to hurt those poor people. Why don't we find a deer or something?
That's not enough. Nothing here. No fun. I need something big, Distort argued.
...Well, argue was a strong word, considering the fact that he'd literally contradicted himself with every sentence he'd spoken. Still, William didn't seem to know how to respond.
In their irritation, Ire accidentally let out a growl. That was enough to scare off the group of monsters, who had already been uneasy with their presence.
Oh, great. Now Distort was well and truly screaming, William trying desperately to calm him down. As usual, Ire was the one left to actually fix the situation.
Their tail swished around, and they felt irritation seep into their bones. Spirits above, how they wished they could just separate from these two...
