A new hero appears in the city. Light-themed abilities, though their favorite technique is summoning shining wings and a broadsword. Lacking a nickname of their own, they are simply dubbed "Angel" by the media.

At first, they seem perfectly innocent. A little strange? Sure. Their suit covers every part of their body, anything that could be used to identify them; their fighting style is an odd combination of elegant, efficient, and brutal; they run from reporters and refuse to show up to interviews. Nothing incriminating, though, and all easily explained away.

But, as the hype around them dies down and they settle into more of a routine, strange things begin happening. Charred corpses start turning up throughout the city. Villains begin to disappear around the same time–first small-time crooks, but the case gets a lot of attention when a major supervillain goes missing. The Boilerman, the media calls this serial killer. Burning away the dregs of society. Some even say that the Boilerman is doing what the heroes are too cowardly to do–taking matters into their own hands.

Regardless, the murders are still very much illegal, and so, the police begin to pore over the case. All the signs point to someone with a lot of power and a clear motive, which would normally be enough to pin down a suspect. But they can never find any leads, and after a few months, the trail goes cold.

Caspian takes it upon himself to investigate. He discovers evidence that points to something huge–evidence that the police have carefully hidden. At the same time, Angel begins to focus their efforts on him. He encounters them more and more often in his outings as a supervillain.

Slowly, he begins to realize something. Angel is not as innocent as they seem. In fact, hiding behind that faceless mask and that righteous facade is a monster even worse than him–a methodical, cold-blooded killer. And, now that he's made this connection...

He is a target.
