I just read Overgrowth, so take this little snippet of something. Probably very OOC, but canon is only a loose guideline anyways. Heavy spoilers for the end Clone Wars (the animated show)

The first flower appears over his heart, right where he'd been shot.

Fives is, of course, still terrified and overwhelmed. His mind is reeling at the things he'd discovered. The Chancellor is a traitor? He goes to Rex for help.

"I- Rex," he says, stumbling to find the right words. "How did I get here?"

Rex gives him a strange look. "Are you feeling alright, Fives?"

He reaches up and rubs his head, wondering if he imagined it all. "Not even a little bit," he mutters.

And then- Tup walks in, looking like nothing happened.

Fives' brain can't decide whether to be volatile or numb. He sways in place; he almost falls, but Rex is there, supporting him with a look of confusion and concern. "T... Tup...? You're alright?"

Tup raises an eyebrow. "Of course I'm alright, mate. Are you?"

He shifts his eyes to the ground. "Yeah. I guess it was just a nightmare."

Neither of his brothers say anything, so he know that his doubt shines through his voice. Still, all of them report for battle, and as far as he knows, their conversation stays between them.

By the time the battle happens, he's nearly convinced himself that he was just imagining things. Watching General Tiplar die again is like watching a plane crash, all of that stability crumbling in an instant.

He hesitates too long when he's told to retreat. A stray blaster bolt slips through the cracks in his armor, and when he wakes up, he finds another flower blooming on his back.
