Annabeth 11

"We must hurry!" Said Artemis running through the woods. All the Gods and what seemed to be the whole entire camp were running behind her. Other than Poseidon, Artemis was the most heartbroken of the gods about Percy's kidnapping. She says that he is the one exception. What he is the exception to no one knows for sure. And no one has dared to ask.

They had been running for an hour without pause. They needed to get Percy back. The whole camp needed him.

All of the sudden without warning Artemis stopped. She threw her hands to her mouth and started crying. Everyone tried to move to see what had made her pull up short. Once they saw almost all of them had the same reaction.

Lying in the middle of a meadow was their savior, their friend, their brother, their mentor, their son, their other half. Covered in blood and dirt.

Before anyone else moved Annabeth darted to Percy's side. She started screaming his name. He wouldn't move. His eyes were open but they weren't seeing.

"No. No. No. Percy! You can't leave me!" Annabeth screamed before falling into him. "You can't leave me." This time her voice was not even above a whisper.

That was when she felt it. The movement of his chest moving up and down.
