That you were hurting inside
That you have an outside face
That you feel insecure about yourself

Little did I know
That what you show me is just a facade
That what you show others is a mask
That what you show everyone is a happier version of yourself, when inside, you are not

And I wish I could've done something more
To help you feel better

But somehow,
I didn't
Because I was too scared
And hesitant.

So I stayed out of your way
