Day 22 - Hallucinations - Sakura Baum - Original Characters
Sakura groaned slightly, pressing her hand against her forehead. It felt like her skull was being shattered by whatever her roommate had made.
The chemistry major, Johanna Paisley (JP), had been experimenting with ways to get high, outside of the things already available. And despite the dangers, Sakura had decided to test a couple of the things out. JP hadn't protested, just watching with interest as Sakura took the strange mix with a swish of water.
"JP's mad scientist..." She muttered against her hand as it slid down her face. She could feel one of her cats rub against her leg, purring softly before trotting off under the night shel
She stood up, stumbling against her bed as she became off-balance. The college freshman stepped further, lumbering across her room and grabbing the bottle of whatever she'd taken.
Sakura squinted to see what the label read, though her blurry vision told her she had lost her glasses. She sighed and pulled the bottle further from her face.

Hallucinogen - Sedative
"Damn." She sighed, shaking her head. She probably should've read that before she took it. But she wasn't dying yet, so she could probably just sleep it off. One of her other cats jumped slightly in surprise and yowled at her. The feline rushed off the bed and somewhere else.
With a soft grumble, she slumped back down onto her bed. She shifted a bit, feeling what she landed on. Sakura turned and looked at what she landed on.
Delaney's jacket.
She smiled, reminded how her girlfriend had left the green-and-blue windbreaker at the dorm when she visited last night. Sighing sleepily, she pulled up her jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. Sakura closed her eyes and leaned against her bed, ready to fall asleep now.
Then a song started playing.
"Everybody Talks" hummed steadily in the background, as if someone just turned it on from the radio kept in the front of the dorm.
Sakura shot off the bed, nearly falling over from shock. She hadn't heard that song in two years- it held too many memories. It was her favorite song and she couldn't stand it.
"JP, I swear, if you're fucking playing that song..." She hissed to herself, stumbling out of her room and leaning against the door. "Mate, are you-"
Alice looked back to her, the beads at the ends of her braids making soft clicking as she turned. "Oh! Saki!" She smiled, rushing over and hugging her. "There you are, I was looking all over for you."
Sakura couldn't hug back, staring down at Alice.
Alice...
That didn't make sense.
She was wearing the same pink sundress she'd been wearing... that day. The day Sakura lost her.
Alice just leaned over and kissed her cheek. "What's with that look, Saki? You didn't really think I'd be dead for that long, did you?" She said teasingly, poking Sakura in the ribs. "Silly."
Sakura opened her mouth, but all that came out was a small, choked sound. "Alice...?" She didn't understand. Alice glanced at the windbreaker around Sakura's shoulders.
Her face fell. "Oh..." Her voice became soft. "You... already moved on?" She asked. Alice let go of Sakura, who's hands shot out to pull her back.
"Wait- Alice, please." She begged, following Alice as she stepped away and turned for the door.
"No, I understand. I guess you really didn't love me, did you?" Alice didn't look at her.
Sakura could've screamed out of... anger, or fear, or confusion. "Allie! Please- please, no! That's not what it means!" She cried out, grabbing for Alice again as she opened the door.
"It's alright. Let's just hope you can protect her better than you did me."
And like that, Alice disappeared from her grasp again. Sakura was left by the door, shaking and gasping for air as she looked to where she had been.
So close- she had been so close...
"Kitty?" Sakura looked over, almost hearing Alice's voice again.
Delaney looked back, her brow furrowed with worry. "Hey... Kitty, are you alright?" She whispered. "I-I just came to pick up my jacket, who are you taking to...?"
She then saw Sakura's reddened eyes and the tears now welling up in them.
"Okay..." Delaney wrapped an arm around Sakura's shoulder. "Let's go to my place... Let's go to bed..."
