"Brother..."

Nickel stared at his brother, motionless and bloody on the floor. Sprawled on his back with his eyes closed. Mercilessly silent.

"Brother, get up..." He pleaded again, reaching out for his twin's hand. He ignored the stabbing pain in his side. "Brother, please..." He begged, voice rising. His breathing became short, heart thudding so loud he couldn't hear anything else.

The Dingo forced himself to grab his brother's wrist. Maybe it was just because he was shaking, but he couldn't feel a pulse.

"No... no, please..." Nickel sobbed. "Comet, you can't leave me like this!" He cried. He dragged himself closer to Comet, crying out slightly in pain.

Weak. You let him die like this. You couldn't protect him. You couldn't protect Berry either. What kind of brother are you?

He sobbed louder, screaming into the dirt as he dragged Comet closer to him. Nickel became inconsolable, babbling nonsense and wailing like a child. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't think.

Nickel felt like he was having a heart attack. Like his whole body was breaking down and he couldn't stop it.

Then, he felt a hand grip his wrist.

"Comet?" He said, though it sounded more like another cry.
