Day 17 - Greatest Fear - Moon Kay - Strange Secrets
"I'm not going!" Moon shrieked, already cowering in the corner of the room. "I won't! You can't do that!" The girl looked terrified, tails raised and ears pointed defensively at her best friend.
Alyssa stepped closer, her hands outstretched like trying to calm a frightened animal. "Moony, it's me, it's Alz." Her voice was gentle, though almost emotionless. "These shots are different, they're not like hers."
The sweet pleading did nothing to calm Moon down, only making her cry louder. She covered her head and crumbled to the floor.
"Please- please- I didn't do anything wrong, don't make me do this..." She begged, sobbing miserably into her hands.
Alyssa made a soft, cooing sound, moving closer. "It's alright, Moony. I'm right here... She can't hurt you anymore." Carefully, she grabbed Moon's arm and tugged her off the floor. She made sure Moon didn't make any sudden movements, bringing her into the living room.
They didn't go to the doctors' office for these kinds of things. That would send Moon into a spiral. So, a doctor would come to their house for these things.
Alyssa's mother, Esa, would hold Moon's arms tightly, making sure she didn't hurt herself or someone else. And the other kids would be shooed out of the room.
Alyssa couldn't stand it, listening to Moon's crying and screaming over a needle. All while Iza kept asking when she could go back and comfort her sister. While Daniel just distracted Suzanna and herself- ignoring her questions about why Moon was so scared.
Then, it was over.
Moon would be exhausted, her energy drained from the fear. From the magic that coursed further into her blood when she was terrified. Esa would lead her back to her and Alyssa's room, helping her into bed.
She hated needles. They all knew that.
She couldn't stand when Iza asked why.
