|FOUR~dont drink the pool water |

The bass of the music blasting out the speakers radiated throughout the floor to the facility and the lights could blind you if you looked at them too long. The crowd of people was sparse; just a few supers and a few of T's weird friends. The rest of them I didn't know. I guess Dee invited them as fillers. If asked, I'm sure anyone would want to come to Tony Stark's birthday party.

Dee orchestrated this one, since Tony's last birthday party he was allowed to have went up in flames. Yes, allowed. We have to watch this fully grown rich adult man as if he were a toddler.

I stood at the back of the party, my shoulder leaned against the wall to my side. I watched as the people, caught in a rainbow from the lights, bounced and waved to the rhythm of the beating bass. I chuckled to myself as they went, having far too much fun for being sober. Alcohol was banned, because T can be dumb sometimes.

I swirled the cup of coke in my hands, letting the watered down liquid slosh around in its plastic prison. My eyes prodded the crowd, observing until I was met with a familiar sight. Brown curly locks was curled over the trash can, loosing his dinner. Tough luck.

With a smile, I sauntered my way over to him, clapping a hand on his back once I arrived. "What could have possibly made you sick, Webs? There isn't even any alcohol!"

He grunted and gave one last dry heave before sitting more upright. "Uh... Would you believe me if I said the music and lights? And maybe way too much food..." I snickered and he gave a smile.

I quickly spun on my heel and left only to return moments later with a glass of water for the poor boy. "Come on, lets get outside away from this mess." He managed a nod after his swig of water and I helped him outside.

Behind us, the party still roared on, but dulled down. We sat at the pool's edge, our feet dangling in. Our shoes and socks lay off to the side of us, abandoned. "So Webs, you're with T?"

He stared at the clear water before us. turned a soft purple from the pool light. "Hmm? Oh, yeah. I work for Mr. Stark. Well, kinda. I don't get paid. He just kinda gives me missions sometimes."

I hummed in response, my gaze lost as I pushed the water with my feet, mesmerized. "You said that Mr. Stark is... your uncle? Or family friend?" Peter prodded gently, and I could see him watching me from the corner of my eye.

I caught my breath and nodded. "Uh, right. I mean, not biologically related. Cuz adopted, ya know?" I gave a soft laugh at myself before I continued. "He and Dee are the best friends. practically brothers, and Dee's my 'dad'"-here I used air quotes-"so he's my uncle. I've known him as long as I've been with Dee. Soooo..." I let my voice trail off and Webs nodded.

"Love him to death though. He's my best friend." I thought for a moment then shook my head. "Actually, I'll take that back. That sounds lame."

Peter straightened and shook his head. "No, not at all!" I scoffed at his kindness and rolled my eyes.

"This is getting far to serious." I stood and Peter looked over his shoulder at me, confused.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm actually following you." I gave him a giant, toothy smile and before he could do anything, I pushed him into the pool.

His arms flailed and he let out a screech before he hit the water with a splash. I doubled over in laughter as he surfaced and protested with a "hey!"

With a smirk, I launched myself into the air, landing in front of him and thus splashing his face with a spray of water. Once I came up for air, Peter smiled at me. "Don't think you can get away with that!" He threw water at me with his hands, and while I was trying to keep the water away with mine with a laugh, he swam under and grabbed my ankles, dragging me under. With a gasp, I found myself submerged. Under the waves, his soft brown locks floated upwards and his brown eyes met mine. He laughed, sending a stream of bubbles from his mouth and I had to come up for air again.

"CORI!"

The harsh voice startled me, and I spun to see Dee. "Oh hey! Care to join?"

"Who is that?"

By this point, Peter bubbled up beside me, his eyes wide in fear and regret.

But I just smirked. "Competition. Go get Tony and tell him we have a challenger."

There we were, me on Dee's shoulders and Peter on T's. Poor Webs looked absolutely mortified, while Tony tried to cheer him on.

"Ready, kid? We'll take 'em down easy."

Peter's voice quivered. "I'm not too sure about this Mr. Stark..."

Dee looked up to me and winked. "Ready, set. Fight!"

We lunged forwards and I grabbed Peter's hands trying to push him off Tony.

His eyes gave away that he was scared. I narrowed mine and pushed him backwards. "Come on, Webs! You have to try. Am I too scary?" I taunted and Tony walked forwards, pushing Dee and I back.

"Come on, kid!"

His brown eyes lit up and a smile struck across his face. He was beautiful and I think I was falling in more than just the pool.
