Recently, I attempted to make a query about a Wattpad poetry collection. The post, that I received via notification stated that it was not a competition and they were just looking for contributions.

Foolish me, I had thought, it would be nice to support a peer group, even a "family", so I made an inquiry and asked for clarification to see whether I had an acceptable poem. I also stated that the text would need to be centred, if they were happy to use it.

The response was unexpected. I was asked to read a link to a set of rules and regulations first, and was informed that I was only allowed to post in their #newbie collection, not the one that I had originally thought.

Please note that he asks and suggests that I send it to the group's #newbie collection.

I thought I was polite in my reply in declining as below.

In any case, I thought that this would be the end of it. I had queried, he had asked, and I had declined to submit.

To my surprise and chagrin, I received a notification from Wattpad, which said that my own poem had been dedicated to me from the said 'newbie' collection, which I had not consented to. Here it is what part of the poem looked like below, with the wrong (ugh, double spaced, non-centred) formatting.
