In the previous chapter, Marinette grabs Adrien's hand and says,  "Let us get out of here." 
    
      In the current chapter, Adrien agrees that is a great idea. He and Marinette turn to exit the place that is now full of such fear and horror for them both.   

     "Where Do You think you are going?"  The merman in charge of the cove says. He glares at them in anger. He sees the body of the dead mermaid on the ground.

     "What do you mean?" Adrien asks.

      Marinette does not say a single word. She just looks at the guard in confusion. She acts likes she has no idea what is talking about with them. She hopes he might let them go.

     "I mean you are not going anywhere," The guard shouts at them.

      "What is all the shouting about anyway?" Another merman says.  He sees Lila and notices she does not move.

     The second merman swims over to her and touches her shoulder. It is then, he sees that Lila is not breathing. He is furious and turns around with a look of hatred in his eyes.

     "What have you done?"  He asks.
   
     "My fiance lies dead on the bottom of the sea.  Answer me, Adrien and whoever she is now,"  He demands.

    "Look, I am sorry, there was an accident," Adrien says.
  
  "Accident, by the looks of it this was no accident," The merman says with an angry voice.

    "He was protecting me," Marinette blurts out.

  "Oh, then, tell me, new girl, what happened to make him feel a need to take out the love of my life?"  The angry merman shouts at her.

   "Do not yell at her.  Lila tried to kill her,"  Adrien explains.

   "I do not believe you, it is lies." He scoffs. He picks up the dead body of Lila and swims away.

    The guard glares at them in disapproval.  He says, " Your uncle and aunt will be sure to hear about this and the consequences will not be good."

    "Please, do not tell them," Adrien pleads with the guard.

    "Tell, me one good reason not too,"  The guard states.

      "What is that over there?" Marinette says. She points to a corner area far off.  

        As the guard turns to look where she points, Marinette uses telekinesis to form a wall of water around him so that his vision is blocked.   Then, she smiles at Adrien who in turn looks at her with relief in his eyes.   Marinette and Adrien swim away.  They do not stop until they reach the edge of the water.  

        Now, they find themselves almost on the land.   They way they see it they have two choices they either return to Adrien's uncle and aunts' house and hope for the best, or they return to land.

      Marinette smiles, steps on the land and immediately her tail disappears and turns back into legs.  Adrien does the same and to his surprise, without the help from a shell his tail disappears.

    Marinette and Adrien both stand on the shore on human legs. They both have highlights in their hair. Marinette's are pink and purple, while Adrien's are green.  Also, they both have their swimsuits back on.  The strange thing is they are dry rather fast.

      Marinette and Adrien wonder where should they go.  It is not like they have any place, in particular, they can stay.  It is with this uncertainty they walk hand in hand to the city.  Once, there they see the lights to a house are on and heads toward it.

     Marinette's  POV:
      She looks at him and thinks, why are we here again?

     She worries for him.  How can this be that they are back right where they started?

    Adrien's POV:
    He looks up to see Marinette's look of concern and realizes they are back at the place she grew up in once again. He thinks, strange we should end up here of all places.

   "Guys, what you just standing out in the rain for?  Come inside,"  Mirelle says.

   "Yes, as she says, do come in out of the storm,"  Kagami says.

     Adrien does not notice any rain, nor does Marinette. They do not argue. They step inside and smile as Marinette's sisters close the door behind them.

      "A lot happened while you were away," Mirelle tells them.

     "She is right,"  Kagami says.

     "Well, it is good to be back, I think," Adrien says. He looks like is not so sure.

      "The day was so exhausting, I am worn out," Marinette says.

            Marinette walks upstairs to her room.  Mirelle smirks as does Kagami.

           Adrien wonders why Kagami and Mirelle keep snickering.  He thinks, perhaps it is something only those two know about now.
