"Yes, mother!  What is it you wished to tell me?" Marinette asks.

    "I just want to say, first of all, I love you! Second, stay away from the ocean there are awful creatures in there like sharks and those awful merpeople." Sabine says.

    "What, you can not be serious. You know how much I love the beach." Marinette says.

   "I am sorry, but the merman and mermaids murdered your father! I was going to tell you some other time, but felt like today was the best time to tell you." Sabine says.

   "Your sisters, you, me, none of us are safe near the sea!  You have to understand I forbid you to ever go there!" Sabine says.

  "I understand. You are just scared because you can not swim. I happen to be a very good swimmer." Marinette remarks.

"As for the merpeople, they are not real!  They are just myths. Everyone knows this, mom. Everyone, but you!" Marinette says angrily.

  "Wow, I have not seen her this upset since the comic book company quit making her favorite comic books!"  Kagami says.

"Same here...Except for that one time, a kid named Joey put that frog in her hair in the fourth grade!"  Mirelle says. She laughs a bit too at the memory.

 "Those were the good days, she was so much happier then!" Mirelle says.

"Mom, I think the whole merpeople thing is a bit far fetched.  The ocean is too salty to suit me, but the view of the moonlight across it at night is beautiful.  The sand feels grainy, but it is okay."  Mirelle says.

"I hate sand and the ocean. The saltwater taste gross if you accidentally swallow it, and it makes your skin itch.  Besides, why ruin your complexion with saltwater and slimy sand anyway?"  Kagami remarks.

  Meanwhile, under the sea, Adrien looks around him and sees lots of cool shells. 

 "Wow, today is going to be a nice one!  What do you think, Shelly and Cori?" Adrien asks.

"I do not know why I ask you when you do not talk.  I mean neither one of you is a mermaid or merman." Adrien says.

Adrien thinks, why is it all the mermaids down here refuse to go out with me?  

  Adrien's  POV:
I hope this does not mean I will be on my own forever. I mean being single is nice, but I would like to have my own family someday.

How will ever find someone for me when all the mermaids give me the silent treatment?

 Back to the land with Marinette with her mother and sisters, Marinette looks at her mother in dismay. She can not believe what she just told her. She thinks, mom expects me to believe some nonsense about mermaids and merman, how could she?

  Marinette's POV:
 She thinks no one will keep her from the beach, not even her mother. She determines she will find a way to go there even if it means she has to sneak out. She thinks, that it is when her mother is away with Kagami and Mirelle, she can sneak outside to the beach area. She smiles at her idea.

 Marinette watches the others leave and soon afterward sneaks off to the beach. She thinks, yes I can feel the sand beneath my feet. She is glad her swimsuit was hidden under her clothes this way she can swim anytime she wants.

 She loves the ocean. She sets a towel down in the sand, removes her cover-up and places it on the towel. She puts on some sunscreen, removes her sandals, along with her beach hat, and sunglasses.

   Marinette takes a few pictures of the ocean with her camera, the sand, and some selfies. She puts the camera back inside its case, and hides it. She is glad her mother does not know about the camera.

   She runs toward the water with a huge grin and is happy when her feet are wet. She has no idea what goes on in the minds of those around her. She is caught up in her world.

    She thinks, this place is not bad it is just sand, ocean, and salt air.  She believes her mother worries for nothing. 

    Adrien thinks, what is so bad about the land. He thinks there is no land people close by now.  He swims toward rock and sits on it. He does not see the initials, G+E=A  on it.  He saw Marinette on the shore without her knowledge and knows she is swimming in the ocean now. He watches her in surprise.  He thought all humans were ugly.  He sighs and wishes he could find a shell to give him legs.  

 He searches for a special green shell that supposedly gives legs to mermaids or merman who wear it.  He knows if it works it will be only temporary, but still this way he can examine the human closer up. He begins to wonder if he will ever find the shell. 

   A few minutes later, he smiles because he found it he found the green shell. Adrien holds it, blows into it, and swims toward the surface. He gets out on land and feels no tail.  He is happy it worked.  He has legs!  He feels a bit wobbly on them though as he is rather new at the whole leg thing.

     Marinette stops her swim when she hears a thud noise. She looks up to see a cute boy on the sand. She thinks the boy could use my help, then her next thought is yuck, he is naked!
