"Its been a long time coming and the table's turned around" - Sick Puppies
TWENTY
Sylvia was pissed, beyond pissed.
It felt as if everything she worked toward was set to fail, and Harry was just the cherry on the top of her disastrous cake. A bitter cherry, in her eyes.
The next couple of days went along with no direction, as she decided to shut herself out from those million dollar boys and get some peace. The reason for all of this was Harry; obviously she couldn't think of a better way to keep him away. The route to her next stop, dressing room and hotel room never felt so lonely, just as Sylvia wanted them to be - or subconsciously, maybe not. Needless to say, she was still annoyed for a reason she didn't know all that well, but somehow fate managed to call it Harry.
"So, when will you stop acting weird?" And, just like that, her crazy thoughts were interrupted as the smiling blonde, who never failed to make her feel good, that crossed her path in the corridor for a surprise appearance.
"Not weird, Niall," her gaze instantly diverted from his eyes, not even daring to smile as she kept her eyes on her phone, "just need some-."
"Oh, yes; room to breath." Obviously he couldn't be more right.
"I didn't know you could read people's minds." Shoving her phone into her pocket, she couldn't help but laugh at the boy who could never stop being dorky and adorable with his puppy dog eyes. "I'm impressed."
"I've just gotten a smile from my favourite girl and I feel like I'm winning the world tour." Soon he grabbed her between his arms and there was that good feeling of being close to her friend.
"You will always be the cutest." The smirk plastered on Sylvia's face would never falter. Honestly, it was beyond amazing to know they cared for her even in that crazy road life. "I'm just feeling a little- out of place."
"I know, been there before." He threw his arm over her shoulders and invited her to join him on his walk because, well, life was calling them. "Ready for another shot?"
"Shot of what?" She froze in her place with the mere mention of any alcohol shot, something really typical from that boy.
"Of hard work, dude." It was his time to crack up laughing as he released her shoulder. He knew better than anyone how much of an amateur she was on that tour life. "Guess we still have interview and a gig tonight."
"Yeah, right. Listen, I-,"
"I'll let you go, you need to get ready." He knew exactly what she wanted and she quickly hugged him before running towards her room. "Don't be late or Jay will kick your ass."
"Yes, sir, I'll see you later then." She said and he was already a few steps behind. "Have you seen Harry?" Sylvia casually asked the boy who was a little far away, before she could even open her own door and think about what she had just asked.
"Sleeping. Maybe out as he always is. Who knows? But he will be there."
,"Yeah, I was just wondering, I haven't seen-."
"He's always somewhere close by, don't worry." Niall kindly smiled before he disappeared around the corner.
As simple as that one mention of him, Sylvia couldn't get rid of the thought of him. Obviously he was somewhere because quitting in the middle of the tour was just not an option for them, but then again she was left wondering where he could be besides annoying her with his presence.
Once she disappeared back into her mind, Sylvia began completing her least favourite activity: packing. In a matter of minutes she managed to fit all of her belongings into the suitcase before rushing into the bathroom, feeling panicked after realizing how large her luggage had grown. But then again, adding some new, extra items to her life-on-the-road would never be an issue. At least not as big of an issue as keeping Harry off of her her mind.
Oh, Harry. Not even a cold shower, she desperately needed rushing over her sunny tanned skin, could even wash away the thoughts of him. Of course he was everywhere, he was Harry; he was everywhere her mind woul wander, but, in that moment, not everywhere she wished him to be.
For the last couple of days, he was just somewhere away from her going unnoticed. From stage to stage and to somewhere only he knew. Not that Sylvia looked and chased for him, but disappearing like that was just not something she expected from him. Maybe, just maybe, she was the reason why he was staying out of sight.
The last moments they shared together weren't planned, just because Harry was a kind of creature people never know what to expect from. Who would expect Harry to judge someone, especially her? No one could deny how judged Sylvia felt by him. She couldn't believe she was stillthat attached to someone who would never deserve any of her tears. However, she couldn't be sure if Harry had disappeared because he couldn't stand being around Sylvia and her mood swings anymore.
"Ten minutes, Syl." It was the perfect wakeup call as Jay shamelessly invaded her room and her thoughts. "We're waiting for you."
"Just a minute and I'll be done." She got out of the shower in a blink of an eye and didn't even waste time to fully dry her body off as she stepped back to her room to find Jay wearing a cocky smile.
"Glad to see you undone, wet and late again, dear". His creepy smirk grew larger as she felt the urge to hit, but kept herself contained due to the fact that he was still her manager.
"Get dressed and go down." He threw the only pair of clothes left in her lonely room and announced before leaving, "Not even Harry is waiting for you today. Hurry up."
'That should be a joke', she thought. Not only her mind was being hard on her, but also her manager, who understood how close Sylvia and Harry actually were. Or, well, used to be.
She quickly threw on a pair of jeans and her favorite black tank and left her room as fast as she could. The mere chance of dealing with an unsatisfied Jay would kill her.
Soon she was lead to the garage and found her crew there waiting for her. Every part of her was present in that room, except for her humor. She was exhausted from her daily routine and couldn't get enough of her beauty sleep before another round of interviews. All she wished for in that moment was a break from life and everything else.
"Alright, so here it is your schedule," Jay handed her a few papers as she and Daniel, the security, joined him inside the SUV. "Interview at the Radio Stadium, another one with A-Teen magazine at the stadium, and then concert. After that we go straight to the next stop."
"Which is?"
"Fort Lauderdale." Jay shook his head, "You should be more aware of your agenda, Sylvia." He was right. She was just a mess with her appointments and all she could think about is how all of this would go if it wasn't for Jay.
"I know, I'm sorry, I'm just-,"
"You've been a mess, no surprises here." He could care less about her words as his eyes didn't move from the large stack of papers in his hand. "Just make sure you're not wasting anyone else's time and you'll be fine."
And there was his smirk again but that time, Jay simply gave up ranting about her and left Sylvia alone the rest of the way to the station. He also needed some time of his own to focus on the life she was still struggling to deal with.
"We'll be there in a couple minutes. We'll be fine. Good luck."
Good luck. Those were the only words Sylvia heard from Daniel during the long ride to the radio station and she couldn't be more interested in the conversation between him and the other security guards. For Daniel and the security crew, it was never luck, but a perfect convoy operation.
"Good luck with what?" She was indeed curious when she faced Daniel's concerned expression as the talk was over.
"Alright, this is how it's gonna work now. Jay, please," he said, which was enough to bring Jay back to reality and outside all of the paperwork in his hands. "The garage is blocked by a truck and the police are already reinforcing our job. The thing is, the street is crowded."
"What else?" Jay was also curious to know about the security plans that already felt melodramatic.
"No worries about that. We'll proceed car at a time. The boys are going one by one and then Sylvia. Preston, Paul and Mark will take care of the barricades. Alberto, Paddy and Basil will be responsible for the boys and I'll take care of the barricade with the others before taking care of Sylvia and leading her inside. There is also extra security from the station on our back."
"Well, if you all are confident about this, let's do this." Jay reluctantly replied as they got to the crazy scene known as the radio station's building.
"Paul, we're here, we are ready." Daniel signalized to Paul as they reached the front entrance which was surrounded by barricades and screaming girls. "Make sure to not look around before getting to your dressing room, the station is also packed and I don't want to expose you before you're ready. And don't worry, you have me."
His last couple of words weren't even enough to give her peace as she realized how massive and ridiculously packed the street was. The insane life of being followed by thousands of fans, even though they were mostly there for the boys, didn't appeal to her at all in that moment.
"Positive. We've just got the police's allowance to- shit." Daniel couldn't even think straight as he watched their car being opened by a random security guard, at the same time the car was being dropped. "I'm gonna fry some fucking asses today. Let's do this Sylvia."
The crowd on their way in was beyond massive and loud. There was a feeling of something wrong. Indeed that was because some girls magically made through the barricades, giving the security team no room for their escort. Sylvia ended up being dragged inside by Daniel who was desperately trying to get people away from her at the same time, which was so close to being a failure.
"Straight ahead and don't look around, you go first." Sylvia didn't realize who had their hand on her back and lead her away, someone that actually gave her a little peace on the inside. She was so worried about that crowd and the fact Daniel was trying to do the job for many of them that thinking straight wasn't on her to-do list anymore. She just made her way through the station until they reached the dressing room where she could clearly see who helped her along the way.
"That was massive. How are-,"
"Why did you do that?" Obviously she didn't give Louis a chance to say anything before glaring at him.
"Because you were pretty much going to be trampled."
"I have a bodyguard in case you don't know." She coldly stated as she stepped away from him, watching him surprised by her reaction but making it obvious he didn't really care.
"Surely you have a huge guy who couldn't just take care of you." A soft laugh flew from his mouth and Louis got in her way, making them casually a little closer as she bit her bottom lip in an attempt to control her nerves.
"Watch your mouth before talking about Daniel, you-,"
"Chill out, I was just trying to help you." He reached for her arm and touched her, but she quickly shoved his hands away from her. Not even his calculated words were enough to make her want to be close to him.
"Don't you ever fucking touch me." The look on her face couldn't hide how nervous she was becoming for nothing as her finger eagerly pointed to Louis. "I didn't give you the ticket for-,"
"Can you stop pointing this finger in my face?" He calmly asked, diverting his sigh and trying to end the encounter. "I was just help-,"
"I don't need any help from you Louis." But his move was useless because Sylvia insisted on screaming and spitting fire with her unexpected reaction for the boy who had done nothing other than help her. "Actually I don't need anything from you because you're just a rubbish and boy who does nothing other than ruining my peace with his stupid behavior."
,"You should at least-."
"Don't tell me what to do because what you say means nothing to me!" Sylvia was unstoppable with her loud words and his try to cut the argument was just worthless. "You better think twice before directing any of your disgusting words to me Louis, I'm sick and tired of your childishness."
"Childishness? Are you done throwing a fit and being a bitch?" But then again his patience was far too close to an end. "Please, just look at you."
"Shut the fuck up, I am the one talking to you. I can't believe we are-,"
"Stop being such a bitch all the time! I don't deserve any of your bullshit when all I was doing was trying to fucking help you!" It was his time to get louder and, oh dear, she couldn't even imagine how loud he could actually be. "You're just so full of yourself I don't even know how these people can stand you for so long. You think the whole world revolves around you but-,"
"Let me tell you this, sassy boy," Sylvia let a sarcastic laugh roll, all consumed by anger, as she stepped close to him, enough for her breath to fain over him, "you disgust me. As long as you don't show me any respect, I won't ever-,"
"You know what? You're a cunt."
And just like a bittersweet memory, her hand noisily and roughly hit his face, interrupting his words and making him react as he harshly pushed her away from him. As if on queue, Paul and Jay got into the dressing room making their circus even more entertaining, followed by Harry who instantly ran towards Louis.
"What the hell is going on in here?" Paul was so confused with all the drama that he didn't even realize Harry pressing Louis against the wall, trying to keep him away from Sylvia.
"Sylvia's insane!"
"Don't you ever touch her again." Harry and his wild side didn't really care about Louis' words as he held the collar of his shirt, slamming him against the wall before threating him. "Or I'll make sure to kill you."
"It's not my fault, I just-,"
"Stop with this shit Louis," but obviously Sylvia would never miss her chance to cut him again. "You're the one-,"
"So now you say I started this shit? For fuck's sake, Paul?" Louis clearly looked frustrated as he tried to make anyone trust him, which seemed to be pointless.
"Shut up, Louis." It was Jay's turn to face Louis and give some limits to his yelling. "You pushed her, we saw that."
"She hit me in the face!" He criedout, looking incredulous to everyone that was accusing him of being the bad guy. "Let me fucking go Harry, I owe you guys no explanation."
Louis fought the grip on him and Harry set his friend free, his flaming eyes still glued on the boy who seemed possessed.
"Seriously, this girl needs to control her behavior or I won't take it any longer. I'm done with her little show." Louis was annoyed for a good reason and the words simply slipped from his mouth as his face contorted with fury as he faced Sylvia. "I helped her and she hit me, and what do I get from all this shit?"
"For god, why don't you-,"
"Sylvia, shut up once for all." But then there was Jay, who was getting mad and being pushed over the edge with the whole drama scene, calling her out. "Alright, it's over. Louis, Harry, go to your dressing room, I'll take care of this."
Harry led him outside. Controlling a wild Louis wasn't that easy as his last words were said to the girl, "You shouldn't be here anyway, Sylvia. Simon will be happy to know how big of a bitch you are."
Not even the door behind shutting closed and the show going over could get all the judging eyes away from her.
She was an uncontrolled bitch. And she knew that.
