•Athesis•
The talking was distant. Quiet, calm, a simple background noise that paid no mind to her and fell deaf on her ears. Has the Ark always been like this? Minimal chatter? Minimal everything? Who knows honestly, not like anyone ever notices do they?
She woke one morning to find her parents have been floated, her mom for having an illegitimate marriage with a married man and her dad because he was stealing extra supplies. Great. Only eight years old and she has no family left, well, besides her older brother, but he's two years older than her. Hell he is probably sitting in some cell crying and wanting his younger sister. Oh well, that won't happen soon.
Weeping for days on end became a lifestyle for her. Well, until she found her new 'family'. One of the group members took her in, a male at the age of eighteen, named Andrew, Andie for short. Andie taught her all she knew, how to hold a knife and areas to hit, math principles and reading and writing, how to lie and how to steal. He taught her all of it, by the age of fifteen she had already gotten so good at lying that nobody knew if she was telling the truth. At that time as well she was introduced to Andies' family. Misfits, outcasts, runaways, second borns. They were all here.
At the time she joined the group the current 'leader' of the group was Archie's father, Thomas, more commonly known as 'Father' or 'Pops'. He was very accepting, the group motto was 'take all or take none'. Very quickly she learned that she would have to literally fight to stay in the group, an unspoken ritual happening every hour, everyone fighting at least five times a day. It didn't matter what a group member was doing, if you had to fight you fought or the group sent you off to the police.
The way fighting went was someone of equal strength and age. If nobody matches then one had to fight a person older, sometimes by a year or forty years. That's the way of the family was it not?
Skipping to when she was at the age of sixteen she could take on Andrew and be his equal. A sixteen year old girl against a man older than her by eleven years. It would be a lie if I said she won every time, having lost more than won. Every four fights she lost she won one. But alas, at that age he had been discovered for stealing precious and top security information from the Ark, getting himself floated after the young girl offered herself in his place. He was a brother to her. He was a huge part of her life. He was a giant part of her world actually. Shortly after the leader, Thomas was floated for being seen while stealing supplies, the family was left without a leader. Another member, named Jordan, took the seat and made the group a living hell. He threw away any and all traces of the previous leader. And after that point it went to hell. Jordan encouraged the chaos and the throwing away of the rules that bonded everyone together. He dislikes the whole 'take all or take none' motto previously established, now saying 'take all or kill all'. Jordan was a man to be reckoned with, someone who held power and someone who didn't give a shit about anyone but himself. With him in power the crime rate possibly rose, Athesis seeing more and more people being floated everyday.
Skip to when she was now sixteen and a half, locked in a cell for rebelling against Jordan and him telling the police lies. She hated that man, she absolutely hated him with a burning passion. Often asking how he was and such. His death would be by her hands and her hands alone. Well, until he showed up in the cell next to her. He had attempted to overthrow the current Chancellor, a very bad move on his part. At this time he was only thirty five years old, older than Andrew by six or so years. Seeing him floated brought her a great deal of joy, a breath of fresh air.
Skip again to when she is seventeen, now being apart of the 100. She was relieved and joyed to have been leaving the Ark, the reality setting in once the group landed. Everything before that point was her past, a past she liked to keep locked away under emotions, nobody being able to reach the full story. Glossing over the details she didn't like going to in-depth, knowing that water works would flow and hard to stop. Running and coming back, a habit she had when she was to scared or prideful to admit defeat.
But who knows if it's actually true, who knows except her. The girl who grew up in a gang and barely told the truth. Well, whatever her story is it follows as stated above, an ex gang member with only a few people in her inner circle.

"Did you really have to tell my WHOLE life story?" "Yes I did. You keep to much hidden about yourself, it's okay to open up" " . . . Just shut up before I stab you, for it H?" "Yeah yeah whatever, Athesis."
